presumably it couldn't hit the older systems because they'd melt into a puddle of tears when you try to run them.
the implementation of RPG Maker is also rather unique, it originally launched running off the XP variant of the engine. but they later shifted it to the unofficial "mkxp" open-source recreation to ensure native Mac/Linux ports* could be made.
*these console versions are likely being rebuilt from scratch using Unity, as that's what the previous RPGM ports from this publisher did.
it's also a bit odd that Serenity isn't doing a collection like with LiSA, as the whole series (including the spin-off "Bird Story", the proper sequel "Finding Paradise", and the ඞunfortunately namedඞ "Imposter Factory". and the upcoming "Beach Episode" that was revealed to be launching September 20th.) are all extremely short games.
there's also the legendary "Alternate Universe Playbook", the meme creation tool that would become even funnier if it somehow got ported to consoles.
