News Powerwash Simulator available on Switch (and all platforms) - Spongebob DLC coming June 29th, 2023!! Warhammer 40K arriving later in 2023!!

Brilliant, loving what they're doing with Powerwash DLC and updates - the SE collabs were smart and now this is great.

Played this over last summer on Gamepass as my 'think cold' game while it was baking out, think I'll be using it for some downtime again this year

Whoa, this changes everything. Literally, because we would be spraying out water... under water.
The press release confirms there's a loophole that allows them to bypass the laws of physics 😋

I didn't even consider licensed DLC could happen, this opens the door to so many cool things they could do. SpongeBob is a great one to start with.
Yeah, gaming crossovers are one thing but if they're open to cartoons as well I'd love to see where else they take this (along with the gorgeous cel-shaded art)

Adventure Time, Bluey, Simpsons or Futurama I could all see doing something wacky with it. Hell, even Star Wars could probably use some scrub downs on X-Wings and TIE fighters

I am so curious about the story of how this game came about. It's something I want to play, preferably on Switch because portable, but am waiting on the gyro controls to hopefully be patched in.

and Spongebob DLC? Kinda awesome ngl.
Their Reddit AMA a few months back explains how the entire team were obsessed with those power washing ASMR videos on the likes of r/powerwashporn and wanted to create a FPS that was within the scope of an indie dev team capabilities.

I also am hoping for gyro controls to be patched in sooner rather than later in conjunction with twin control sticks, but I think if they are able to push out the next major update with that we might also see HD rumble and local wireless multiplayer added around the same time as well. I think with luck we'll see all of the above added before the end of the year.

Underwater pressure washing is a thing. It's just like spraying compressed air in the air, it still does the job.

Does the Switch version have gyro aiming?
Short answer, no(t yet).

A Reddit AMA they did back in January confirmed they were investigating gyro and HD rumble being implemented in a future update, but no further news since. My gut instinct prediction is that as long as the game is receiving regular updates, I think we could see it in the patch notes before the end of the year.

How did SpongeBob let his house get this bad? Is Gary not doing his job?

I mean, it does look a lot better than what you would expect for a perishable fruit that’s been on the ocean floor for over 20 years

Today, FuturLab® and Square Enix Collective®, in collaboration with Universal Games and Digital Platforms, reveal their heaviest collaboration yet. The Back to the Future Special Pack is coming to PowerWash Simulator. Retailing at $7.99/€7.99/£6.49, the high-voltage expansion will be available later this year on Steam, Windows, Xbox One, Xbox X|S, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5.

In the new Back to the Future Special Pack, players will have the opportunity to travel back in time to hose down iconic movie sets and props inspired by the Back to the Future franchise from Universal Pictures and Amblin Entertainment, including Doc Brown’s van, the Time Machine, Hill Valley Clocktower, the Holomax Theatre and Doc’s Time Train. Plus, there are ten new achievements to collect in-game.
the saga of incredibly unusual crossovers continues....

Does this have gyro controls yet on Switch? How’s the Switch performance? BttF DLC has my attention and I’m debating picking this up for Switch or PC.
someone who owns the game might want to confirm whether the switch version has actually received the update yet but yes, the 1.4 update from last week lists gyro in the patch notes:

I own the game, I'll check it right now! (He said, despite originally promising to update the OP after work lmao)

E: game needs to update, and I forgot I'm on the final sublevel of a cave in Pikmin 4 from last night 🙃 I can confirm in two hours otherwise!

@shoptroll @slide's

Yes, gyro was added, but with a caveat 😅

To activate it, go to options from the tablet, and under the General tab you want to enable gyroscope, and you have other options like toggle or hold, the sensitivity (crank that sensitivity up, because it doesn't move much at 1.0), dead zone, stabilization, and smoothing. When you're in-game, long-pressing L will be your toggle button.

However, here lies the problem: the camera is tied to gyro, not your pressure washer. Which seems like a massive oversight and is not what people (or at least I) was expecting when fans asked for gyro. As an additional wrinkle, I personally would have preferred the gyro to be connected to the right joy con, but it's connected to the left joy con when playing with split controllers 🙃

I'll give gyro an honest go, but I have a feeling until more options are offered, it still isn't fully realized

That's why it's so genius that the "dirt" is actually fairy glitter.

That said, I enjoyed the game enough during the Trial Event to actually pick it up, but the paid DLCs are a teensy bit overpriced, no?
