Nippon Ichi Software have been using postcards like that to tease disgaea games ever since the 4th one if I'm not mistaken, there is a good chance this samurai lad is the next protagonist.

While D6 had many obvious problems, now that most of the work has already been done to transfer Disgaea in 3D, I am confident they can build upon this new basis to make a much better game

Blimey that was fast. I guess now they've made the transition to 3D they can start churning these out.

Still need to go back and finish the main story for 6 sometime
 
Just to keep folks' excitement in check, these postcards have teased plenty of non-Disgaea games, too. (Honestly, that's what I'm personally hoping for in this case, as I quite like most of NIS' non-Disgaea games.)
 
I dont think the next Disgaea is coming soon. That team still had to handle the PS5/PC port, I think. Expecting a new title.

These ports have already released and probably didn’t need near the full team or were made by NISA port team they already have

I think it's too soon to announce D7, maybe they are teasing new expansion for the D6? After all, D6 was reeeeeeeally a barebones game, some new mechanics and content would be cool.
