This game has always looked like something I'd love, but the fact its creator is a dipshit alongside the fact AntonBlast is coming soon gives me second thoughts on whether or not I should jump in.

Kinda thankful this and Plucky Squire have such long waits for the physical, meaning I have an excuse to put something to the side for later considering how hectic busy the next few months are

Just bought this game. Please enlighten me about its creator.

The people behind Pizza Tower and Antonblast are good friends (a bunch are even credited for helping in small ways), so it's not like there's much seperation there.

Well, shit.
Oh well, my backlog is big enough as it is I suppose.
All I'm gonna say more about this is that, while McPig isn't very public now compared to when those shitty statements were made, I kinda doubt that he's racist/transphobic and such, cause that just wouldn't make sense to me with the other people on both teams, even directly his team with one of the main composers of Pizza Tower. I don't know for certain but I don't think everyone involved with either is stupid at least, or at least, isn't as stupid as McPig like 6 years ago, cause he at least used to be shitty. Dunno if that's changed now, but I'd lean to maybe yeah.
At the end of the day though, it's your money, spend it how you like. I'm personally looking forward to Antonblast.

Loved this on Steam, I could see myself double dipping on Switch if it goes on sale. But as is I think I’m good.

This is incorrect:

The dev is on era and this is what they said on the Pizza Tower devs:

"For what it's worth, we were not aware of certain past posts from the Pizza Tower lead during prior collaboration, and we of course do not agree with the sentiments held in those posts. I completely understand peoples' hesitancy but we could not be further from those beliefs as a studio and a unit.”

And yet quite a few of the people at Summitsphere contributed art to the Noise update and have continued to boost Pizza Tower news, so I feel like they're still in contact and McPig's probably shown change for that to continue, at least, that's what makes sense to me.

Wasn’t aware of this game before the Indie World. Something about that trailer is insanely off-putting to me. I can’t put my finger on what exactly. But I think considering my current backlog, I’ll be skipping.

I wasn't a big fan of the Anton Blast demo because the level design felt way too speedrun focused and not super natural for a first playtrough, same thing that happens with many Sonic games in my experience.... But this? This Is amazing so far, super addictive.

Honestly I could believe he's grown if he actually gave a good apology but the only apology I ever saw was a really insincere sounding "sorry I wasn't funny back then lol" so personally he lost me 🤷

I feel like that's wording that to be worse, less "sorry for not being funny, I could've at least been funny about it" and more "im not proud of those offensive jokes I made years ago, they were shallow and shitty", but that's just my read on it.
Far from the greatest apology, let alone a good one, and again, I have no problems with people not supporting the game, but I feel like it was more sincere than the wording from memory.

Wow, I had been following Pizza Tower since all the glowing reviews came out last year and was hoping for a Switch port … eventually. I was so shocked and beyond excited when it showed up on the Indie World Direct … and that it would be dropping that day.

I had already been in love with the soundtrack and watched a few videos of game play just to familiarize myself with it a bit … but I was hoping I wasn’t getting myself too hyped up.

It exceeded my expectations. I rolled credits less than 48 hours from getting it and I adore this game. I’m currently going through another playthrough again with the Noise … and I can’t stop thinking about playing this. It’s just really, really good. I ordered the OST on vinyl off Bandcamp, and I’m definitely picking a physical of this when it drops next year.

It just really wowed me. Definitely play this if you’re interested … highly, highly recommended.

Oh, and I downloaded the Antonblast demo too … and while I like how much it feels like a Sega game in its art style, I found the demo to be a bit boring. Pizza Tower finds a way to combine both a familiar Wario Land style with Jazz Jackrabbit and Sonic influences that I find much more appealing … on top of its wildly funny sense of humor that’s a fever dream of Rocko’s Modern Life and Ren and Stimpy.
