With this information, you are now forced to love Hey Pikmin!

Also, I will not put the garbage galaxy tag because nothing about this is garbage.

This is cool and wholesome.

It made me happy to see NOA marching with some trans flags during this year's Pride parade in Seattle, too.

I thought all 3 Pikmin games were well received, no? Is 3 a good start for a newbie to the franchise?
The worst entry I'm referring to is the same as the OP.
Hey Pikmin! is a 3DS side-scroller/platformer and it's not as well regarded as the main entries ,which are all excellent. You can essentially start from any of those.

Oh yeah, that 3ds 2d game. There was also a weird 2d Chibi Robot game too lol.

Tbh, both of these games are fine for what they are. Yes, they are generic, unambitious platformers and not what the fans wanted, but I had still fun with them. The majority of opinions about them make it seem, like they are terrible games. That's not the case (at least imo) and I wouldn't be surprised to learn, that most of the negative comments come from people that didn't actually play the games.

I played most of Chibi-Robo Zip Lash and it really really stinks

you have to spin a wheel to progress to the next level

if you roll wrong you have to replay levels

it's the absolute worst

this can't be true.... wtf.

what were they thinking lmao

Yes, that did bother me as well, but it's also not as bad as you make it seem. It's not totally random, but actually skill-based in part. At the end of each level, you have a small amount of time to hit one of three UFOs. If you manage to hit the smallest, golden one, you can spin the wheel three times. Also, it's not like you have one wedge you have to land on and otherwise you have to replay the same level you were playing (your comment make it sound like that's the case). There are six wedges and most of them have a 1 on them - meaning you progress to the next level, if you land on that one. If you land on a wedge with a 2 or 3 on it, you skip one or two levels. If you are at the end of any given world, it may be that you have to start one of the earlier levels in this case. Though you can also alter your chances, by "buying" new wedges, before you spin the wheel. I can see how the mechanic can be annoying, but as there are objectives and collectibles you can't achieve/ get when playing a new level, it didn't affect me as much. As soon as the boss of each world is beaten, you can (re-)play levels in any order you choose.
The destination wheel aside, the levels are fun and charming and personally I loved collecting all the real-life candy from around the world and reading about them. It's a small, inoffensive game, with some neat ideas and also some quirky design decisions.

thanks for the explanation. Still sounds frustrating and unnecessary as hell tho.

Played the Hey! Pikmin demo a couple of weeks ago and was suprised that I really liked it. Wish they made a "no time limit" super duper easy chill mode for babys like me in the mainline Pikmin games

is Olimar the only Nintendo protagonist who has canonically reproduced?
Chrom, even get a scene of his child as a baby with the wife.

Well actually a lot of fire emblem.

Addam from Torna.

Issac from Golden Sun. But he wasn’t the protagonist when it happened so maybe doesn’t count.

Embarrassing!! Both of you.
How can u guys forget that Big Bad Bowser has a son that is one of the most popular Nintendo characters?
Also, the koopalings used to be Bowser's kids back then but they changed it.

Edit: Fuck, He said protagonist.... Well, Bowser has been a protagonist once or twice lol

I feel Hey Pikmin gets a lot of flack because it is not a mainline game and plays differently. I also feel not many people actually played it because of this and dismissed it.

Do you like Lost Vikings? Do you like Lemmings?

Play Hey Pikmin!

...I don't see anything about trans people in the screenshots. Genuinely perplexed. It reads like a rational, curious character encountering sequential hermaphroditism for the first time in nature. Had I not clicked on the thread i would have assumed there was some explicit political statement in the game, which I found odd because I couldn't remember any such thing.

It's misleading.

"Who am I to say this one or that one is weird?"

Saying this right after observing a species that can change gender, I feel like the implication is fairly obvious.
