(A wobbling hum passes in and out of your periphery in a rhythmic pattern. You hold your breath to listen deeper, but the sound passes before you can meet it as equals.)

(One moment more. Close your eyes.)

(Far, far, off, you can hear it. Now it sounds like a flickering wind, or a babble of something long meant to be sleeping, oscillating between the dark and a much deeper dark.)

(You open your eyes. The phone is still there.)

The Echo River Tour Group

This Tour Group is a dynamo of river-adjacent tomfoolery, ranging from River Direction Speculation to how many Subway sandwiches it takes to clog a Tour Group. Very little is off-topic here, but the Echo River – and its subsidiaries – are the beating hearts that fuel us and the glue of curiosity that holds us together.

Above all, this tour group will be a friendly place to talk! To keep it that way, there are a few rules.

Tour Group Rules
  • Be good to each other! Sometimes discussion and speculation can get heated. Sometimes jokes go overboard. Try to read the room, keep hostility in check, and apologize when you make mistakes.
  • Racism, Sexism, Homophobia, and Transphobia will not be tolerated.
  • Hide your spoilers! Even for old rivers. Some tour group denizens like going into rivers knowing as little as possible!
  • Information is ethereal. When people discuss rumors about tributaries or strange fish, don't get too serious! Keep it light, avoid the wheel of expectation and vitriol, and don't draw attention to things that aren't yours to share.
  • Don't ring up Ohunate Sicsuntu in the dead middle of a month. Trust me on this one. Octoneen Forunsven is fine, though. Let's be real, though... why would you call someone you don't know?
But... What Is the Echo River?

The Echo River is a subterranean river that flows from Lake Lethe. Many landmarks, preserves, and strange isles are found throughout. This service used to provide more detailed information on the stops along the way, but we've found that travellers tend value self-discovery above clarity. If you're unclear how you got here, you likely took The Zero.

Possible Sights Along the Echo

Rumor has it that Some Sort of Stick Witch will perform her one-woman show "Clever Repetition" on September 26th.

We also have reports that the Isle of Late Reflections will be hosting a sudden increase in wild boars. Details are sparse at the time of this recording.

As for the rest... we'll see what happens! If you're lucky, you might see the river change Direction. Or see something beautiful In the World!

...I've just gotten word that you saw something beautiful In the World last month, though, so the odds seem a smidge down.

How to Play the Game

Your DESIRE is your TOUR GROUP! Potence, Wisery, or Coeur – one will transcend the rest!

The Goal: Use ECHOES to gain the most OBOL. The TOUR GROUP with the most OBOL at the end wins! Unless...
  • TOUR GROUP = Your POLL VOTE
  • OBOL = A currency used on the Echo River
  • BASE OBOL = POLL VOTES x 10

Using ACTIONS

Your ACTIONS increase or decrease your TOUR GROUP'S OBOL. To use an ACTION:
  • Use one of the KEYPHRASES below
  • BASE PROFITABILITY = Number of Yeah!s
  • MULTIPLIERS = Depends on the KEYPHRASE

I'm just eagerly countingdown the days to UFO 50. It's like my most awaited game(s) of the year I think, it or Mario and Luigi. Mostly want to give the shuffleboard adventure game and golf adventure game a go

I really want to get Emio. But my pride (and wallet) is telling me to wait to get a cheaper second hand copy instead.
So for now, I wait. And avoid the Emio thread.

--- and play Ryza 3. Every time I step back into the Atelier, even if it is just a material deposit stop, I end up wasting another hour just doing the alchemy. I'll never complete the game at this rate.
