We're celebrating the release of Tears of the Kingdom. Check out the thread here!
I mean they also likeNvidia becomes a trillion dollar company yet they managed to port only two Portal games to Switch. Come on, second big N. Do more, you have the money.
it's like making a zelda game where you play as ting-.....oh waitConceptually, this was the weirdest thing; imagine getting the rights for, I dunno, Rambo and instantly going "Boy, oh boy! Time to grace the world with the Colonel Trautman management game it so desperately needs!". Like, yeah, there's potential there, but is that really your first option?
So the fact that it's apparently not very good at what it tries to do is just the cherry on top.

Oh nooo! Godspeed, little SwitchSending my Switch off to be fixed... goodbye old friend. They might have to put you down after 6 strong years
Why that old Shulk pic lol. Fiora got one with the new model.
Hope it comes back good as newSending my Switch off to be fixed... goodbye old friend. They might have to put you down after 6 strong years
The SE games published by Nintendo are never mentioned in SE's PR, I doubt Nintendo would pass up the chance to publish/fund a team Asano game if given the chance. They're basically saying "we've pitched a sequel to Nintendo and they turned us down, so the hypothetical sequel needs to be multiplatform" But they don't have faith in other platforms either lol
PlutoTV gets even better.
We talk about video game preservation all the time, but PlutoTV has been fantastic for gameshow preservation.
Price is the official show of playing hooky. Its frivolity and late-morning time slot have made it a proud symbol of irresponsibility for sick schoolkids and hungover clock-punchers alike. If you’re watching The Price Is Right, you don’t plan to get anything important done today. The frenzy of the opening minute, with newly minted contestants exploding out of their seats as the camera whips across the crowd, is designed to make you feel okay about that. “Here it comes” is the Pavlovian trigger that conjures a rainbow maelstrom of cars, cash, and bedroom furniture, a fantasy that only TV could concoct, where the victories are rapturous and the heartbreak is harmless. It’s a 60-minute refuge from the realm of truth and consequences. Who could resist?
classic bit never gets oldLove all these Japanese devs who announce games without platforms.
Get on it if you haven’t!
he's over thereAll those new icons and yet WHERE'S DUNBAN smh
I’m baffled and annoyed Nintendo didn’t bring this collection back with the Mario Movie.I'm malding right now because I missed out on this incredible deal.
I've always just done manual sort on the nso apps to get things just how I like. I just put the advance games in their advance numerical order, so all 4 are in order on mine. The alphabetization of these games is a mess
Super Mario Advance
Super Mario World: Super Mario Advance 2
Yoshi’s Island: Super Mario Advance 3
Super Mario Advance 4: Super Mario Bros. 3
Gets alphabetized as
Super Mario Advance
SMA4 SMB3
SMW SMA2
(WarioWare)
YI SMA 3
Hopefully. I'm curious why other platforms weren't announced on Konami's socials because it isn't clear if it's a PS5 exclusive.Surely the MGS collection will come to Switch?
My hot theory: I think them being so opaque regarding platforms and release timing is because it’s gonna be a September Direct shadow dropHopefully. I'm curious why other platforms weren't announced on Konami's socials because it isn't clear if it's a PS5 exclusive.
Maybe, but they did confirm a physical version. Nintendo announcement will be its own thing because this will obviously include Twin Snakes as a console exclusive….My hot theory: I think them being so opaque regarding platforms and release timing is because it’s gonna be a September Direct shadow drop
At least we know it's not exclusive. The official website says this:Hopefully. I'm curious why other platforms weren't announced on Konami's socials because it isn't clear if it's a PS5 exclusive.
Of course, one could argue that "the latest platforms" doesn't sound promising for a Switch release, but they could also mean "the latest" as in the more recent platforms from each platform holder, so who knows. The METAL GEAR SOLID: MASTER COLLECTION allow fans to play the games as they were, as first released on the latest platforms.
The wording on the website (something along the lines of “this collection allows players to play the games as they were upon initial release”) sounds like they’re not going to be Substance/Subsistence versions, but the original versions.Maybe, but they did confirm a physical version. Also, are 2/3 the substance/subsistence versions. It’s not very clear at all. And volume 2 is apparently Rising, Peace Walker, and Portable ops. 4 is never coming back out.
My Expansion Pass sub was already worth it for that aloneSuperstar Saga is SO FUCKING GOOD!!!
I might finally try out Metal Gear if it releases for Switch. Not only MGS collection has a good chance on Switch, I think MGS Delta does too. Made by Virtuos, Switch miracle port masters, they might have made the game scalable. If not, sounds like a great launch title for the successor
I’m pretty confident that the collection will show up on Switch. Probably announced in a direct like they did with Persona. As far as Delta goes, I don’t expect to even see it release this year so it might show up on the next Nintendo hardware. Not only MGS collection has a good chance on Switch, I think MGS Delta does too. The original MGS3 doesn’t even have a third person camera no? The HD versions are Substance/Subsistance, there’s no reason for the re-releases to not be. The more open areas in the game are just not adapted for the usual fixed camera, I don’t think they will just omit that in the age of patches. I think the wording is just to differentiate the original from the remakeThe wording on the website (something along the lines of “this collection allows players to play the games as they were upon initial release”) sounds like they’re not going to be Substance/Subsistence versions, but the original versions.
Yeah, I think 4 is forever stuck in limbo. Between licensed products (good luck ever getting Apple on board with having iPods and MacBooks show up in a video game ever again) and things that were of-the-time, like weird joke scenes about controller rumble that really only make sense if you were there 15 years ago, or mentions of just how “good” the cell processor was… I think the best we can hope for at this point is a ground-up remake which I think would cost a trillion dollars.
By all means I defer to a stronger authority than myself, but from my extremely limited understanding AS is taking the position to actively "eliminate" autism as a "disease" which is why they're so reviled by the autistic community and do not speak for them.Is Autism Speaks a good organization in 2023 or should I avoid them? @curl-6
(For the reocrd, I found out recently that I'm autistic.)
What should I look for when it comes to autistic support services?
Edit: A lot of my friends say that Autism Speaks is anti-autism and anti-autistic people.
That's not good at all.By all means I defer to a stronger authority than myself, but from my extremely limited understanding AS is taking the position to actively "eliminate" autism as a "disease" which is why they're so reviled by the autistic community.
I’ve heard this, but this was after I went to a benefit concert from them in like 2013 hosted by Jack Black. The concert was great and it seemed like the performers genuinely wanted to help get autistic kids the help they needed. (Except Neil Young for some reason seemed to blame autism on Monsanto lol.)By all means I defer to a stronger authority than myself, but from my extremely limited understanding AS is taking the position to actively "eliminate" autism as a "disease" which is why they're so reviled by the autistic community and do not speak for them.
As a follow up: The Playstation Store text for the collection says 2 and 3 are the HD Collection versions, so it’s safe to assume those are the versions they’re using (“complete with minimal edits to copyrighted contents” according to the store text)The original MGS3 doesn’t even have a third person camera no? The HD versions are Substance/Subsistance, there’s no reason for the re-releases to not be. While Konami has been rather slow in their retro collections they are still pretty consistent, we don’t really have any examples of modern games yet but at least they do everything in order. I don’t see them skipping on 4 just because some things around it are annoying, isn’t PS3 emulation fine nowadays? Just remove the Apple stuff and call it a day, if they can bring back the original cast for the remake they could just record new lines over the PS3 references and such
I played 1-4 on PS3, could have played the rest as well but I thought “I’ll just play Peace Walker on the NX because that’s a handheld game, could get V on it too”
