Ryza 3 and Resident Evil 4 coming out on the same day and I got the expensive versions of both. Luckily gold coins cushioned about $36 off of Ryza 3 and I got a $75 Xbox card for $66. Haven’t really been able to do anything similar for PlayStation.

I’ve been playing Sonic Spinball on NSO. The game isn’t actually very good. But it’s got me feeling nostalgic for the other Genesis Sonic spin-off game - Sonic 3D Blast. I had that game on Genesis as a kid, but I’m sure I never made it very far in it because I was, like, four at the time. Too bad 3D Blast isn’t on NSO.. but it is in the Genesis Collection! Which is $30 on the eshop.

But it’s on sale on the Xbox store for $8! Sold.

Can’t wait to find out 3D Blast is also not very good and for my childhood nostalgia to be ruined forever!

Based on the beta, Exoprimal is disappointing (to me), but damn, at time it’s raining tens and tens of dinos and the framerate is not moving one bit. Between this, MH Rise on Switch, or ray traced games on Series S, the RE Engine gotta be the multiplatform engine with the best optimization out there.

While the execution was lacking, I feel like the Joycon concept could really great if done better.

It retains a lot of the things I enjoyed about the Wiimote + Nunchuk like the split design and motion controls, but with improvements in a lot of ways like a full set of buttons and sticks, no connecting wire, and equal motion capability on both sides.

With better ergonomics and build quality next time around, it could be something special.

Playing Dream Land 2, there's a secret room in 5-5 that even VG Maps doesn't list, never seen this in the almost 30 years this game has been out. Bring in Kine and Spark to the dark room for a nice surprise.

I actually have a lot of nostalgia for 3D Blast, specifically the Genesis version. It's not a great Sonic game but it's a neat game if you look at it as something totally unrelated that got skinned as a Sonic game late in dev or something. I really hope it comes to NSO for a second chance.

Seconding this. 3D Blast is honestly one of my favorite 16-bit-era OSTs. It was the first soundtrack Jun Senoue did for Sonic, and he absolutely crushed it. A few of those tracks even ended up being arranged when he did Sonic Adventure a few years later. Really good stuff.

I loved the split design of the Wii controllers. They (and the WiiU gamepad) were actually really comfy for my and my broad shoulders, as I didn't have to squeeze my hands so close together and tilt/cramp my wrists. The joycon are great in concept for the same reason except they happen to be way too small for my hands. To be comfy for me they almost need to be like almost 30-50% bigger, which is... not great for portability. But imagine if Nintendo were to design and offer joycon options. Joycon XL would genuinely make me so happy.

Wasted several hours playing dogshit Destiny 2 PVP just so I can get an SMG. Was it worth it? Absolutely not. Would I have been happier playing something else or nothing at all? Definitely.

My dad asked me to go with him to Gamestop to help pick out some games for him to play, and I decided to take the opportunity to pick up Bayo. So I walk in and tell the person I'm looking for the new Bayonetta. "Oh Bayonetta 3 we probably have that." "No I mean the one that just came out." Then the employee stares at me for a solid 30 seconds like Im a fucking moron. His coworker realizes the confusion and chimes in, "She means Origins, right?" After I answer affirmative, they then go on a 15 minute scavenger hunt throught the depths of the store to find a copy.

Don't know what to make of that but boy was that an experience I don't want to replicate.

I dismissed this game way back when and couldn’t get into it. I then tried it on Steam some years ago and thought it was neat but never got to deep into it. A Switch collection of all 3 games in that series would be cool.

I liked it back when I played it in 2009. Not my favorite FF game but I certainly didn't hate it. I really liked FF XII-2 though. I thought it improved on the core gameplay a lot while also going nuts on the story. I never got around to playing Lighting Returns.

Yeah XIII-2 is contendor to be in my top 3 FF games, game is nuts good and builds well on XIII.

Oh dang Bayonetta Origins is actually pretty great. Can be confusing playing two characters at once but it's great fun so far.

So many great zones with great music to vibe in. Sunleth Waterscape, pretty much every single area on Pulse... it really elevates the game. That and the excellent battle system makes me want to do a replay

I've been watching sports and reading. This week I've put a couple hours into each of Wario Land 3 and A Space for the Unbound; but half the time I put my Switch on I've ended up trapped in Salmon Run on Splatoon 3.

At least I've recovered my ranking on Salmon Run; I'd had some terrible luck with it and sank right back to Profreshional Part-timer, but this week I've bumped myself up to Eggsecutive VP.

Nice! I need to play more Salmon Run in Splatoon 3. I got up to Profreshional, but paused hoping to play with a friend who ended up getting kind of busy the past few months. Feels like I should just go all the way myself it’s been so long lol.

Lots of stuff on NSO, actually. Jumping around between Super Mario 64, Donkey Kong Country 2 and WarioWare. Good stuff.
