I don't want a partner, but the lead up to this potential direct has been all but identical to last year. Seems really obvious when you look at the bigger picture.

A game can be announced for September and then another game can be announced later for November. That or they could have a third party game they're leaning on for September and one major first party for November.
Please stop making it up. I’m so tired of this narrative. This is NOT like last year. We know nothing past Pikmin. Last year we knew games for the second half.

Last year E3 was cancelled. This year Nintendo already decided they weren’t going to E3 before it was cancelled. They’re more prepared this year than last year.

Hope we finally get a release for this underrated gem

Ah. The sequel to Yoshi’s Tax Evasion. Hopefully this sells a lot so we get the next game in the series, Wario’s Tax Incremental Financing, where Wario threatens to move the Mushroom Kingdom’s baseball team to Dinosaur Land if the residents can’t funnel millions of coins to a greedy capitalist for a new stadium. Combines elements of Mario baseball and NSMB2 where you have to collect the most coins possible to save the team.

It would make a lot more sense to just announce these games in a general Direct, wouldn't it? There's really no sense in keeping those games secret.

Also, last year had 4 Switch exclusives announced. This year, all we have is Pikmin 4 and some DLC for older games.
I mean what year of the switchs life is this? 7? Like the amount of games have to slow down at some point. Only a select handful of first parties boosted by DLC and one or two mid-sized third parties makes sense considering how late into its life the switch is. Even in the scenario it's a general I've no idea what we'd expect at this point.
Nintendo doesn't follow any specific pattern when it comes to these things.
Yet the only reason people assumed we have anything at all in June is because Nintendo always had a E3 direct. Which is the same logic people had going into June last year. Imo it's best to expect nothing or at very least only expect a partner.
Nintendo did not have to release games as densely as they have so far this year. They've definitely got more than two games for the year left to announce.
The only thing they could have really moved imo is Pikmin, but pushing it out would have left a gap in the middle of the year. They sat on Fire Emblem forever and knew delaying Zelda again would have upset everyone.

If game output is slowing down, wouldn't it make sense to showcase as many of them together as possible? Even if it's in a smaller capacity, it can be done.

With the rate this thread is always at, we'll probably be there before the end of the weekend.
Page 200 unlocks the Direct

Page 300 unlocks the Direct good ending where they announce a new F-Zero

Page 400 unlocks the new hardware reveal (but only if you get the Famiboards Battlepass for 99 FamiTokens)

If the second half of the year was gonna be tumbleweed county, Nintendo would have held onto stuff like Advance Wars, Future Redeemed, and Metroid Prime Remastered to alleviate the drought, instead of cramming all of these plus Fire Emblem and Zelda into the first 5 months of the year.

These are not the actions of a company that has nothing after Pikmin.

Nintendo's strategy throughout the Switch's life has been consistent releases, and there's been no indication they intend to let up anytime soon. Not really any reason to think there'll be a lull when they've spent so much time orienting their development pipeline around avoiding them.

There's plenty of stuff they could have moved, like Prime Remastered or Advance Wars or Bayonetta Origins.

It won't be tumbleweed country.

I'm in for the chaos but yeah, the Partner Showcase talk is non sense at this point. It always was. The Direct is coming 2 days before shareholders meeting. They will announce new first party games to not fear shareholders about what's happening. The Partner Showcase is not happening, it's dead. We know literally nothing after Pikmin. Nothing. 0. Zero.

Looking forward to meltdowns when absolutely nothing happens next Tuesday and Nintendo just drops a mini on Wednesday.
I don't think Minis are ever a good prediction when they're so rare (and the two that have happened in the Switch era didn't replace a normal Direct in timing; one happened before a February general and the other was in March 2020). But I mean, yeah, if there's no announcement on Tuesday, that would mean Wednesday's Direct is a Mini.

you feel afraid because you think Nintendo will do a Partner Showcase

I feel afraid because I think Lukas is going to be right again

we are not the same
Join the Lukas side.

We have cool Arwings and great work life balance.

It won't be tumbleweed country.
Wild Arms remake deconfirmed
Cannot believe the audacity of Nintendo releasing a Direct right around when I’ve started a new job
They just want to celebrate with you.

My bad. I skipped over it in my tired state.
If you're gonna do 4Chan rumors, just do screenshots. The site doesn't deserve the clicks. And definitely make sure the text doesn't contain any 4Chan moments that make me question why I use the internet.

The Direct is set, now what about Everybody 1-2 Switch? They still didn't even showed a screenshot or a trailer. We are not only 14 days before release. They will drop something probably today, as Friday is considered often for dropping bad news (Prime 4 delay announcement was on Friday).

I can’t wait to play tumbleweed county

I just saw its sad lonely, one “screenshot” existence again on the eshop. We here all know what it is, but it is extremely funny how it is just dumped on there with fake fanfare and officially there’s nothing there to explain what it is lol.
