Possibly the best one to start with.Never played a monster hunter game before, is this a good one to jump in?
In my opinion one of the two best entries for newcomers, the other being MH World. I name both because there's some key differences between them, of which one might prefer some over the others, making either Rise or World a better first time experience.Never played a monster hunter game before, is this a good one to jump in?
I honestly think World is a better starting point. Rise is absolutely a great game though.Never played a monster hunter game before, is this a good one to jump in?
Same boat here. I've never really played one at all myself.Never played a monster hunter game before, is this a good one to jump in?
Plays worse? I don't agree with that, Rise plays great on Switch in my opinion. Sure, PC looks nicer and performs better, but Switch (obviously) still has the benefit of hybrid console gaming over it.But why would you not want better performance on the PC? Seems a bit weird to prefer it on a platform where it looks worse and plays worse
Well, let's say the game is the most or second most welcoming to beginners the series has ever been yet Rise is still so dumb about the pace and order it hands out information in that the community's friendliest content producer felt the need to record a near three hour video to better ease newcomers into the Monster Hunter experience:Same boat here. oh, neat! I am sure I will like this game. I was thinking of maybe getting it on Switch or PC.Well, let's say the game is the most or second most welcoming to beginners the series has ever been yet Rise is still so dumb about the pace and order it hands out information in that the community's friendliest content producer felt the need to record a near three hour video to better ease newcomers into the Monster Hunter experience:
Do you know why?I've been going back to the demo and doing the quests a few times at this point; and honestly? I'm seriously surprised by how little I like the PC version. I love, love, love the game on Switch, it's easily one of my absolute favourites on the system. So far my second favourite Monster Hunter ever, even. Only behind MHP3rd on the PSP.
But as shocked as I am to even think or say/write this, I think I actually prefer MH World to Rise on PC, even if I couldn't imagine myself playing the former over the latter ever if both were on Switch for instance. It's so weird.
It really comes down to PC -> World, Switch -> Rise for me. They simply lend themselves very well to the respective platform, but don't/wouldn't work for me the other way around.
But hey, at least I'm going to save the money I planned to spend on Rise PC this way. More power and cash to Elden Ring instead!
In a way simply playing the demo is less intimidating than starting the real thing if you want to try it out for yourself right now. The full game overwhelms you with tutorial boxes at the start. With the demo, pick a weapon, watch a 10-20 minutes guide about it on YouTube, then go at your own time. Still takes some investment, but in a more managable chunk.oh, neat!
