Genuinely curious as to how sales would be affected if Metroid Prime 4 is cross-gen. Would it help or hurt the sales?
Help. If the Switch 2 is really going to be out next year, it really is the logical thing to do.

Yeah for series that aren't super massive like Zelda or Pokemon, we're actually noticing notable sales declines in the West, we at least have hard data that that's the case in the U.K.. And overall data for NA had software sales down in 2022 compared to 2021, despite the fact that 2022 was a year with much bigger games including 2 Pokemon games, Splatoon 3, and a 3D Kirby. The point for Metroid Prime 4 is it will be revealed with Switch 2. It’ll get all that initial hype with new hardware. There will be lots of people eager to spend their money on new hardware and new software. Also, it’s more of a “darker”shooting game for those on the outside. It stands out from Nintendo’s titles.
Xenoblade 2 is the best selling Xenoblade game. It got all the hype from the reveal of Switch. Xenoblade 3 is on a much larger install base when it released and still can’t outsell Xenoblade 2.
I'm still of the mind that Nintendo won't give TGA much and MP4 will be tied to Drake revealAnyone think we can see it at the Game Awards or is everyone on the next year train?
Next year train. (A slow friggin train...)Anyone think we can see it at the Game Awards or is everyone on the next year train?
I'd say there's a non-zero chance for it to turn up thereAnyone think we can see it at the Game Awards or is everyone on the next year train?
I don't think Geoff is getting this one. Not when they could save it to reveal alongside the new hardware. Seems like that'd be the better play.Anyone think we can see it at the Game Awards or is everyone on the next year train?
Here's how I'll put it: The next time I see Metroid Prime 4, I want it to be 6 months from release maximum.Anyone think we can see it at the Game Awards or is everyone on the next year train?
Keighley would likely be over the moon with such a scoop.Anyone think we can see it at the Game Awards or is everyone on the next year train?
I want to say "am i the only one" but hate when people say that so ill just say im surprised how much people champion a Hyrule Warriors: Imprisoning War. I like Hyrule Warriors but it's the most boring concept you could do with it, it's basically just Age of Calamity all over again except with a cast that might be even weaker. Considering Nintendo couldn't even make the Imprisoning War interesting in their game entirely about its consequences, it doesn't seem like Nintendo actually has much interesting to say about it, and another filler Warriors title is the last thing I want to see in what could be very cool spin offs.Keighley would likely be over the moon with such a scoop.
My only problem is if Nintendo decides that's a better place for something like "Hyrule Warriors: Imprisoning War" or not.

Imagine it appeared at the knieiglys and after the trailer "get a special dlc beam if you buy special edition doritos or mountain dew, pre order the game today"As weird as it is to say, I would rather see it at Nintendo's own event rather than Keighley's, even if it means waiting longer. Part of it is because I think it will get more focus in a Nintendo event, and the other part is me not wanting to stay up late to watch TGA haha.
Ya-Hoo Metroid Dew! It'll drain your innards! #fortheboldbirdImage it appeared at the knieiglys and after the trailer "get a special dlc beam if you buy special edition doritos or mountain dew, pre order the game today"
The second Metroid Prime 4 releases, the countdown for Metroid Prime 5 begins.Did you know, that even when Metroid Prime 4 is released, the process continues?
The Process will ensure that MercurySteam will credit everyone on Metroid 6.Did you know, that even when Metroid Prime 4 is released, the process continues?
Honestly, I think no matter where the game appears first, it's just going to be a "first teaser", before the proper drip feed and full showcase some time later. Nothing about the game's possible move to cross-gen or Switch 2 until later on, in other words. As weird as it is to say, I would rather see it at Nintendo's own event rather than Keighley's, even if it means waiting longer. People say they’re hiring and it’s listed for Prime 4. The hirings only mean so much and if the game is coming to Switch 2, why wouldn’t they be hiring into next year?
Imagine just how ambitious, how beautiful, how well-designed it's gonna be. I respect the devs, but I also can't help but feel some sadness for them as well. AAA game development on its own seems so grueling, but then you add all the pressure of it being this game they're developing, and... yeah. I'm sure it adds a whole new level of stress. From my perspective, its a good thing. They SHOULD be hiring to help in the later stages of development to help get it across the finish line. Especially since the game is likely being built for two systems, it's going to take a lot more work.

This was the same source that told me about the TOTK demonstration which I also talked about before it was announced. And hirings happen at all points in development, you should not put that much stock in that. Anyways, similar to how TOTK was held for a year being polished I believe the same is happening for Prime 4, and since it was not shown in any of the major Directs this year it SEEMS like a likely Cross Gen title at this point. Thats all speculation though. This dude (Andres Restart) believes anything anyone tells him. Retro's website literally has crap loads of hirings SPECIFICALLY for Metroid Prime 4.
I can see the hirings making sense for the cross gen. The hirings would still continue. This was the same source that told about the TOTK demonstration which I also talked about before it was announced. If you want to know the truth about the process ....
.. word on the street is @Aurc has lost faith in the process. He has stopped coming to confessions, and he no longer carpools with the Metroid discord group. He now spends his time eating gabagool by day and watching The Price is Right while eating microwaved chimichangas by night. When he's not Dreading the Metroid Prime 4 cancellation, he's angrily looking at the F-Zero 99 eshop page. The process is now weak, it's time to jump ship while we still can, lest we all drown with it. #ProcessedChimichangas #EnemyoftheProcess
No. The video title and thumbnail clearly show rumor. The info comes from a single source. And should be taken with a grain of salt. As explained in the video. That means the game has reached a Beta state, which is different from being complete. When you say it's complete, especially when that's the title of your video is misleading and click baity. MPR was being held for a year and half literally completed, which is far different from TotK or MP4 being polished for a year.
I agree with the way development cost is now.Honestly we should also think that, I really think that Retro will be asked to do Prime 5 just tonuse the assests again, considering the cost and everything
Like more of the same sequel
This is probably the greatest shitpost you've ever made. It's so rich, so multifaceted, despite being just a paragraph long. Part of me is angry and sad toward the blatant, defamatory lie of me losing faith in The Process (that's not true, and it never will be), but the other part of me is laughing his ass off at the gabagool, chimichangas, and brilliance of you even working in me malding about F-Zero 99.If you want to know the truth about the process ....

I think the effort put into the Remaster model should be a good indication of what they'll go for in 4. Though I guess Nintendo could always pull a Nintendo and demand uniformity for the sake of Smash haDamn, this thread has almost 40 pages and we've only seen a lousy photoshopped logo.
I've recently had a thought about something, but I hope they make Samus more human. Remember how she looked like in Prime 1? Compare that to weird anime lady in Prime 2, which was a much darker game. Prime 3 only continued the trend, and I dislike that a lot. Zero Suit Samus (both her suit and appearance) feels like a thing that should've been left in 2000, not born there. No idea what happened but can't help but wonder if Metroid Fan's Best Friend Yoshio Sakamoto had something to do with it.
Honestly, Prime 2 Samus isn't even just bad because of the Zero Suit. It's because, like you said, they butchered the art style for no reason at all.I've recently had a thought about something, but I hope they make Samus more human. I already pushed the Yeah! button, but I'm gonna give you a response Yeah! as well!Damn, this thread has almost 40 pages and we've only seen a lousy photoshopped logo.

As for ZSS: yeah, cringe. The less energy I waste ranting about that design again, the better. I will say though, that despite the (fair) criticism Sakamoto gets for stuff like ZSS and Other M, he seems to have course corrected, and he's done well to lead Metroid to where it currently is. I wanna shake his hand and thank him. I wanna salute him like I wanna salute the Nicole Kidman AMC Theatres ad.
Oh, my sweet summer bloke.Believing in the Process is folly. The idea that as we sit in wait we must hope that Metroid Prime 4 comes to fruition is FOOLISH. We may as well pray for the sky to rain ambrosia and soma. To believe that, with hope, swine may fly through the air like so many bird. Nay. Belief in the Process is belief in passivity, inaction, and most damming, sloth. The truth is, we need to believe the enemy of the Process. What is that you ask? It is not AngryAlchemist. Nor is it I.
We need to believe in our most faithful, our most beloved, the Progress. Retro Studios has faithfully believed in the active pursuit of the creation of Metroid Prime 4, They do not believe in sitting and praying for Prime 4 to appear on their computers magically. They believe in the hard work. And I say we believe in them.
We believe in the Progress.
I considered this. Our slogan will be Believe in ProgressOh, my sweet summer bloke.
I didn't think you'd actually be so pigheadedly bold as to publicly present this buffoonery on here!
The Process isn't inaction, it's the belief that Retro Studios will get the job done, and get it done well. Them working their butts off IS part of The Process! You're a child who insisted he hated drinking water, so mom added some food coloring and called it juice, and you happily drank it right on up.
This is why we need The Process.
I reject "The Progress". Not because I don't believe in progress, but because it's as I've already told you: without Process, there can be no progress. You're saying "I hate seafood, but I love sushi!", for another nice little comparison.
The Progress isn't The Enemy of The Process. It's its greatest ally.

Oh yeah?I considered this. Our slogan will be Believe in Progress

Every time I forget what she looked like and I go "I think she had bigger eyes and was weirdly glowy?" but every time I see her I'm surprised anew. What a creature. That's weird ... I got a ping, like someone replied to a comment I made or something, but when I came in to the thread I see no such thing. Odd ... anyways

Like even putting "more" or "less" anime aside, what the fuck is this?
Why does it look so uncanny? Why does she look like a plastic doll, and why is the art style like a proto-cel-shaded look? Why does it somehow look more flat than the realistic graphics Samus? It looks terrible!
