Music Metal Nintendo covers

genuinely surprised no one (as far as I’m aware) has done a cover of “Pokey Means Business” that keeps the chiptune intro, but replaces the synthesized Metal Instruments with real ones.

The closest thing I know of is GaMetal’s cover. It doesn’t keep the intro as a chiptune, but does it in a swing style before switching to full-on metal at the transition.

I don't think I've mentioned this much here on Fami, but I participate in a monthly VGM remix competition. It's called Dwelling of Duels (https://www.dwellingofduels.net/) and it features a ton of talented artists and covers in many different genres, including metal.

Although I do metal covers myself from time to time, I'll take the time to highlight some other artists from the site that really deserve more recognition than they have!

The Tiberian Sons

A symphonic metal band, they make absolutely awesome music. They're somewhat well known so you may have heard of them. Many of their players participate on DoD somewhat regularly, especially bass player Tony Dickinson.

Ivan Hakstok

A bass and guitar player, he does all sorts of stuff but for the past few years has done a ton of symphonic metal stuff. He's super good!

minusworld

Another guitar player! The video I highlight above isn't metal but most of what he does is metal oriented. Unlike the previous ones, minusworld is more geared towards djenty and heavier stuff rather than symphonic.
