100% on RT only means that no reviewer says 'don't watch it'.I'd say more than okay lol. 100% on Rotten Tomatoes.
I literally almost posted "isn't there a dedicated MCU thread though?" in this thread. So, who's doing the Spidey thread?
I might be the odd one out, (I don't follow MCU fan discourse much), but Loki is my least favorite show so far. I still enjoyed it, but it didn't reach the highs of the other series for me, and Loki didn't really feel like Loki. This show may surpass Loki for me, all they need to do is stick the landing on the finale.
I didn't expect to like Loki's series (I don't stan him like a lot of people seem to, I kinda don't get the obsession), but the series surprised me with everything other than him. I love time travel shenanigans and alternate timeline ridiculousness, plus the gutsy and insane plot twist of Loki literally falling in love with himself really made that show work for me.I might be the odd one out, (I don't follow MCU fan discourse much), but Loki is my least favorite show so far. I'm luckily so hyped for The M4trix that my Spider-hype is kinda taking a backseat. I'm probably gonna casually saunter into a weekend matinee of No Way Home like it's any other Marvel movie and then have to spend a half hour afterwards scouring the theater for my socks.Saw Spider-Man yesterday.
If you're into these movies / superhero movies generally, you're not ready for this movie.
Hnnng hnnngFucking Willem Dafoe man. Green Goblin is one of the best, if not the best, MCU villain after this. He's that good.
You know, for a franchise that's supposed to be family-friendly, the MCU had some pretty dark shit go down this year.
Like, damn.
- Wanda mind-controlling and torturing an entire town
- The backstory of WandaVision (Wanda's traumatic childhood and mental breakdown after losing Vision)
- John Walker using Captain America's shield to kill an unarmed fugitive in a very brutal way
- Doctor Strange losing Christine and becoming evil to bring her back, only for the universe to end due to his actions, leaving him all alone
- Ultron killing the Avengers and nearly everyone in the entire universe
- Hank Pym going after the Avengers Initiative to get revenge for his daughters death, becoming a serial killer in the process
- Spider-Man loses everything to save the universe, including his Aunt dying because of his actions and everybody forgetting who he is
Spider-sadWelp
Netherlands will be heading towards a hard lockdown, only essential stores will be open. So no Spider-Man for me
The MCU started with a vehicle in the middle east getting hit with an IED.You know, for a franchise that's supposed to be family-friendly, the MCU had some pretty dark shit go down this year.

Did you see the deleted scenes for Iron Man? That scene as filmed was originally a lot longer, featured a lot more return fire (Rhodey on a tank-mounted machine gun IIRC), and had Downey dropping F-bombs while stumbling around. They tried to start hard. The MCU started with a vehicle in the middle east getting hit with an IED.
Yup. Spoilers hitting Youtube too.Spider-sad

I have to wait till the 14th of January at the earliest for restrictions being lifted. It´s a damn shame, but I understand why our government made the choice. Still, I feel I won´t be able to dodge spoilers for that long
To be fair, even the the comic version of What If would also frequently devolve into incredibly dark scenarios like this. To the point they made a separate branch just for goofy scenarios.

My two favourite actors in No Way Home: Willem Defoe and Willem Defriend
My favorite visual part of NWH was the simple shot in the trailer where Spidey was swinging out of town:Perhaps the worst aspect of the movie is its visual blandness at times. There's cool stuff in there, no doubt, but after Spider-Verse it's become increasingly difficult for me to watch these large setpieces without not feeling that they would just look and work better in a fully animated feature. I will never understand the logic of using the most grey and brown backdrops they can find so I assume it must be something technical. Which is a shame because there's some really good ideas in there that ultimately fall a little bit flat. The train sequence you see in the trailers looks cool but it mainly uses the visual language from the Doctor Strange film. One of my favourite parts of Far From Home was the entire Mysterio sequence which looked cool as hell. NWH sadly lacks that. I'm assuming that they will continue making Spidey movies in the MCU and that whoever takes over from Watts can bring more visual flair to it.
My favorite visual part of NWH was the simple shot in the trailer where Spidey was swinging out of town:
So much of the rest of the movie is close-ups or medium shots, even during the action, so this shot that sorta let's the motion breathe in the frame was really nice. And if that's my favorite shot in an action movie, then yeah. I think I agree with you a bit about the visuals.
Yeah... compare it to
oh well
Hawkeye episode 6.
The finale wasn't perfect but it was enough for me. I really enjoyed this pure street side of the mcu.
Kate and Lucky going to Clint's house for christmas was the best possible ending for this, glad it went that way.
- Good moments like: "You are my partner, your mess is my mess.
- Kate and Yelena scene was perfect.
- Fisk was very cool I guess?
- Clint and Yelena closure was Ok, Loved the whistle.
- Jack The Swordman!
I cannot wait to see more of Kate Bishop in the future.
so Kingpin is still alive right? if that was it for him then I'm dissapointed.

Cinemas are completely closed here so I probably won't get to see Spiderman for a while. Kind of annoying but safety first.
