News Mario & Luigi Brothership announced for Nintendo Switch, coming November 7th

I’m sorry, whas the Concordia thing?

For me is Jamboree
This game also looks like lots of fun. I’m just not SUPER into Mario Party, that’s all. I play very casually and typically don’t put many hours in. With that said I still quite enjoy the franchise, just not as deeply as Zelda or Mario & Luigi

High hopes for this one. I didn’t really care for any of the releases after Bowser’s Inside Story but this is looking great. Hopefully this game turns out well and whatever team is developing it can work on the games going forward.

It's less "aw, this sequel is 30FPS when the others were 60FPS" and more "aw, this sequel is continuing its trend of 30FPS." I was hoping for a change and am disappointed it didn't come to pass.
I feel you. Personally I don’t mind because I didn’t really notice the fps difference with Dream Team, but I noticed it with the TTYD remake compared to the OG so I completely understand where you’re coming from.

The difference is that TTYD was remade with the 30fps in mind so that it feels smooth and not sluggish and slow. Very much unlike Bowser's Inside Story + Bowser Jr.'s Journey, which didn't really feel like that.

I did appreciate the stable frame rate in TTYD, but the menu navigation felt notably less responsive. Unfortunately, 30FPS on my OLED is literally nauseating for me. I'm sensitive to it, so it's largely a personal issue for me. Like I have to turn on motion interpolation for most 30FPS titles 😔 I never had this issue with older panels like plasma and CRT.

A little disappointed that Bros Moves seem to be similar to what we had in the latest installments. I kinda miss the style in Superstar Saga with Bros Moves being much shorter. One of my biggest criticisms of games like Dream Team and Paper Jam is that it felt that turns took an eternity since both your attacks and the enemy's attacks are so long.

Kinda strange marketing to update the Japanese site and then drop a 30 second ad. Doesn’t really feel like a „second trailer“. I‘m sure we‘ll get that typical overview trailer like 6 weeks before release though.

Well yes, but we'll most likely get one or two trailers before thar tho.

I'm kind of digging the expanded normal moves having additional "Bros. Attack" combos to them. I don't know how in-depth they plan to go with those, but it would be neat to get different styles throughout the game to tackle enemies differently. Might be hoping for too much though.

The areas have a good style to them, it looks like. Reminds me a lot of Dream Team, which for all its faults I would say area design was not one of them.

A bit worried about the villains... they seem a bit more "Antasma" than "Fawful", if you catch my drift. To be fair, even Fawful was kind of one-note at the beginning, though. I like their designs a lot, but I'm not really sure I can see them doing anything too interesting to make me really love them as much as Fawful or the Shroobs.

Can't wait to see more, though!

The menus felt less responsive because they removed input buffering, not framerate. In the OG if you pressed a button while the menu was still animating, it would take effect anyway. In the remake input is frozen while animations play out.

I'm also not convinced something wasn't up with TTYD's framerate. I don't know how to describe it, but it's like the choppiest 30 I've ever felt. Digital Foundry didn't notice a frame pacing issue but it just felt off to me in a way games like BotW don't.

Agreed.

It's going to be a bit jarring going from the Mario RPG remake, where attack animations are so snappy, and even TTYD, where most of the attacks are quick, and then back to the M&L style where even a regular encounter takes a while because attacks take so long LOL.
