New trailer featuring more of the English voice acting
VA sounds much better than Triangle Strategy's, thankfully.

Makes a good amount of sense to include Live A Live with that since that game tends to be cited as an inspiration for OctopathOutside of the HD-2D look being so well received, I truly believe this initiative is all thanks to the success of Octopath Traveler on the Switch. There's other factors too of course.
Interesting note at the end of the character trailer.
The HD-2D branding is showing HD-2D 1.2
(i assume version 1.2?)
Could explain why the screen shots and trailer looks much cleaner and higher res than Triangle Strategy or Octopath. It seems to be doing less DOF stuff, but then again Traingle strategy isn't pushing much DOF and its resolution is low.
We don't know, HD-2D appears to be a graphical style they are using now, specificallty branding this version HD-2D 1.2 i guess means something now.I assume they made custom tools for UE4 to facilitate HD2D faster and then continuously updated it. probably doesn't have anything to do with visual fidelity as it's probably still UE4
It does. Each character's story is only a few hours long. The stories that more closely resemble traditional jrpgs are longer while the more unique ones tend to be shorter.Anyone know how long each persons story is? (from the original) I imagine it differs.
Comparison between original and remake. They went off!
Looking at some of the screenshots it does seem like it, look for example how enemy info is now displayed in battleHopefully they also modernized some of the gameplay and choices.

i dont think so either, i see DOF in the trailer and assets after re-reviewing it, but the resolution bump and noticable.Triangle Strategy runs on HD-2D 1.1
I assume Octopath runs on 1.0
So it's nice that the keep evolving it, but I doubt it has anything to do with DOF.

Which screenshots are you talking about? On the web eShop, Octopath has 1080p images while LIVE A LIVE has 720p.Could explain why the screen shots and trailer looks much cleaner and higher res than Triangle Strategy or Octopath. While that looks good, I miss the checkerboardThe background of the Live-A-Live official website shows a sneak peek at how battles will look
Looked and tried to see if the game can be preordered in the most likely places to carry it early, but I haven't seen it. Anyone else from Europe having this issue?

Not available yet at the usual places in France.
But things are moving, pages are updated and it should appear within the next 10 days or so.
Ooooh, nice, tysm.EDIT: Pre-order now live (heh) on Amazon DE.

The issue with octopath is i found all the stories rather boring after the first act or two. This seems more compelling tbh because of the diverse settings.I think many players are already prepared for this considering how long Octopath has been released.
Possibly down to even the last bit of the storyline(s).
The graphic designer who worked on the original Live A Live reacted to the news of Live A Live remake:
[Machine translation] At the time, "Live A Live" didn't sell well, and I shed tears of frustration when the public said, "Don't make games like this, make games like FF7." But now, I'm really happy to know that there are many people who still love this game then and now. I never thought this day would come... I cry.

Levels are arbitrary. If you want a short game to have big level numbers then you just shorten the xp thresholds for each level or have mobs hand out buckets of xp.If the story of each character is only a few hrs I guess you aren’t going to reach very high lvls
I’m saying in a sense that you won’t even have time to gains lvls and abilities, a lot of rpgs your learning new abilities even after your 30 hrs into the game, so in this one you will learn all of your abilities for that character in 3 hrs?Levels are arbitrary. Like Parasite Eve is an 8 hour game and most playthroughs I’ve done top out in the 30s but that’s fine because I’ve unlocked all the skills and I’m smoking things left and right so it’s a complete experience to me. Not all games need to go to 99.
There’s plenty of opportunities to earn XP don’t worry about itI’m saying in a sense that you won’t even have time to gains lvls and abilities, a lot of rpgs your learning new abilities even after your 30 hrs into the game, so in this one you will learn all of your abilities for that character in 3 hrs?
So either there’s not very many abilities to gain or they give a lot at once
