BOTW isn't a port, it's a multiplatform game. It doesn't matter who made x version, it is both a Wii U and a Switch title.

I own an OG Switch, 2 Lites, and an OLED incoming. I have a PS5 and Xbox Series X (including Xbox One and PS4)

Despite all that tethered console power, the only system I want to play games on is the Switch. Everything. It's weird. I want to consolidate all my gaming onto the Switch platform because I have never liked a form factor and range of play styles on a single system as much as this. The flexibility is incredible.

There are just a firehose of games coming each week - many are first-time on Nintendo franchises. I just feel like Switch has an incredible amount of momentum and I know the Switch Online library gets a lot of flak, but I think at some point the value proposition is just going to be bonkers with continual releases over time.

I was amazed to see how many games the Switch has already. Tons and tons of fantastic indies that I simply cannot keep up with. An embarrassment of riches. I think this is just the beginning for this platform. If Nintendo continues to invest long-term and we don't lose our libraries long-term. Switch becomes the greatest gaming platform of all time.

I don't think the Switch owes its success to the Wii U outright, but huge stripes of its library is borrowed
Going back to my previous post, yeah this is exactly what I'm talking about. Like I want a new 2D Mario, Donkey Kong, Mario Kart, Captain Toad, and Pikmin, and the Switch may not give me any of these.

The Wii U had tons of gaps in its library for sure, but what was there was almost a perfect fit for my tastes. It has an absolutely incredible platformer lineup, and I think the only gap was maybe the absence of a sandbox style 3D platformer like Odyssey. The NES, SNES, N64, Wii, and Wii U all were much stronger on original platformers to me than the Switch, even though Switch as a whole has the biggest library thanks to Wii U ports and Super Mario 3D All-Stars.

I have always been primarily a handheld gamer and considered the GBA their premiere console, superseded by the DS, superseded by the 3DS. On the console front, I thought it was SNES, superseded by the GameCube, superseded by the Wii(especially with Virtual Console. I had over 50 games for my Wii until they were stolen.

This trend has been followed for me - I have over 50 physical games and over 40 digital games for my Switch. It has a plethora of content from nearly every genre, including some I don't find work quite well like RTS games, but like Sakurai said "Everybody is here." More importantly than sheer quantity, is the quality. We have the best Zelda game, the best 3D Mario game, the best Mario Kart, the best 2D Metroid game, the best Fire Emblem game, the best Smash Brothers game, a return of great first-party RPGs, some of the best Donkey Kong games, and new IP that will stand the test of time like Ring Fit Adventure. Third parties have returned to the Nintendo fold with ports and, more importantly, Indie Devs are flocking to Nintendo like never before.

This is the perfect storm of a console and I am glad I am here for it.
