I pre-ordered, but don’t know if I’ll receive it on launch day. The store I got it from is terrible with pre-orders sometimes (but it’s cheaper, so it’s an okayish tradeoff).
Do you guys think it will be a longer experience than previous 2D Metroids? The map seems larger, but at the same time, Samus is extremely more agile in this one.

My excitement is at max levels. I'm hoping I didn't overexpose myself to it with all the previews and marketing in general, but I'm sure I'll still have a blast with it.

I have the Special Edition pre-ordered with Nintendo UK store but they don't allow payment method to be changed and my card expired so I'll lose out on that - I even called them but no luck.
I've instead pre-ordered with Game UK so hopefully they will get it to me for the 8th; I've booked 8th off work too to enjoy it uninterrupted

The good thing is that Metroid is all about the level design and how it weaves together, which is impossible to piece together from trailers.
Like we know a lot of upgrades, but we don’t know when we get them or when we fight bosses etc.

I have 2 CEs ordered. One from Gamestop, which is guaranteed to work out. The other from Walmart online, which was ordered with my debit card that has since had to be replaced. Since Walmart doesn't allow you to change payment options, I was worried at first that it wouldn't work out. This would suck bc Walmart actually gave me a $38 discount on the game! But looking into it, it appears that Walmart IMMEDIATELY charges debit cards and only waits until shipment for credit cards. If that's the case, then I got an awesome deal from Walmart and can sell my Gamestop CE to my friend who's a diehard Metroid fan

True, and apart from that one Dread Report that highlighted the different areas, they've really only shown the first and second areas. Should be plenty of stuff to discover.

Was really excited to see it download on the Switch today. It’s still so surreal that Metroid 5 even exists, not to mention it being so close and looking great!

I'm a bit worried my CE wont show up on launch day.. for whatever reason I've been cursed with that in the Switchs lifespan. Both LA and XC DE didnt show up so I had to drive to the store and buy an extra copy.
Just saw that Dread had popped in at #18 on the Nordic E-shop charts.. that worries me a wee bit. We're still a week away, but considering it's been availible for pre-order for quite some time I thought it would shoot up higher in the e-shop once vouchers kicked in.
Hopefully it'll go higher once we close in on launch date
