Discussion How many videogames have you played in your life?

I just made a new account in Backloggd.com and I'm trying to log every game that I have ever played and it's way harder than I thought.
It's easy to check my modern consoles or steam activity log, but what about the countless games that I rented as a kid? How about the hundreds of different arcade games that I tried?
So far I have around 700 games, but I'm guessing I'm around 1200-1500 mostly due to the arcades. And I won't even count the countless shovelware games I play on my phone.

So how many approximately have you played? And I mean played even for a couple of seconds.

I turn 40 in less than 4 months and started playing on an old Atari when i was 5 ...

I can't even imagine an approximate number.

Definitely more than 1000 though. Easily.
 
I had an emulator phase around 20 years ago where I tried a lot of 16bit games just for a few minutes (many weird platformers)...I can't really estimate those.

I track the games I own for a long time now.
I finished around 1000 games since the late 80s. Own a lot more, which I played for some time.
So I would say with arcades and playing games on consoles of friends, 2000+ games.
 
I'm nearly approaching 1000 on that I've logged in on Backloggd, but that is missing a ton of Mega Drive and PS1 stuff I played when I was younger as well as me not being bothered to log all the Fifa's I've played, so I've definitely hit over 1000.....
 
I actually made a backloggd account for this as well. I input every game I clearly remember playing, meaning I have at least some sort of tiny opinion on it. My count is at 480 right now, but of course most of those are not nearly completed and never will be, I've been finishing like 4 games per year lol
 
Played even a few seconds of? I have no idea, over 500 or so? Games I’ve beaten is probably around 300; as I’ve gotten older I definitely finish less games but I tend to be picky in general.
 
none. i just post on gaming forums and pretend i know what i'm talking about.

i dunno, i have 14 switch games as of right now but this is also the most games i've owned for any console ever, so...

Before the DS I rarely had more than a dozen or so titles for a console, and it’s not like the rental business was big here. Although I did play loads on 8-bit microcomputers and in the arcade. I’d say before 2005 I had owned maybe 75 videogames and played maybe 150. At this point it’s probably well over a thousand though.

It's over at least 1000. I've been gaming since NES and played almost every major
gaming system since and I am pretty sure I've played almost every Genesis game released in NA due to certain childhood reasons.

According to what I've added into Backloggd, at least 1,141.

But I know there are games I have played for like 5-10 minutes but haven't logged so likely to be at least 100 or so more.

A whole lot.

It's probably in the upper triple digits going by a game collection app I use, but my memory is absolute trash and the app isn't organized the best so there's no way I can give an accurate number.

I counted out all the ones I’ve played at least 10 mins of a few years ago and got to 437, I think I’d be around 530 or so now

as someone who's turning 39 in six weeks and also started playing video games on an Atari 2600, I think my numbers must be higher than that, probably over 9000 2000.

If playing a bootleg copy for a few minutes counts, that would be multiple thousands across the last 40 years. If you mean played to completion, barely a hundred I think.

I...couldn’t possibly tell you. According to my 28 years of life, likely upper hundreds. Too many, essentially.

you know what? probably way fewer than I think. I like collecting, I like trying, but I feel like you need an hour or more of gameplay to call it a “game you played”

by that metric… I still don’t know! but I’m going to make a Backloggd and find out!

According to my Backloggd: 147 through my 23 years on Earth. It’s probably closer to at least 200 though, there’s some random games I played in my childhood I never bothered logging or completely forgot playing.

It's a challenging task to remember every game, especially those from childhood and arcades. I'd estimate I've played around 800 games, but like you, there are probably many more, especially considering the arcade era and those memorable but brief encounters. It's a nostalgic journey to log them all! I always love to play games mostly casino games and One of the best things about the Orange Pay method at orange pay casino is that it allows you to deposit your Orange money quickly and easily.
