I had dial up internet until mid-2007, my family lived in a rural location. I watched Mario painstakingly collect coins and run across the screen for 30 minutes after eagerly purchasing Super Mario 64 for my Wii I got for Christmas in 2006.

Great times.

That is what I think it is. Probably why Bossa Nova from Picross DS is so catchy as well.

I'd argue that Sony got fairly close with the PS1 classics, Japan in particular got over 753 games in total.
Only problem is that Sony abandoned the service with the PS4, unlike Nintendo. Who is still implementing Virtual Console-like services in some form.

I miss those songs. So much joy from the tracks on Wii Sports, Mii Channel, Wii Shop, Everybody Votes, the home, even opening the Disc channel had a jingle.

I even miss the Wii U ambient sounds, though not as much (and filled with Miis talking).
