Here are some of my ideas (without thinking anything too obvious):

1080°: Alpine Saga
Animal Crossing: Bell Bonanza
Another Code: Urban Symphonies
Daisy Cruise
Donkey Kong Country: Metropolis Mayhem
EarthBound Trilogy
Excitebike Airstrike
F-Zero Resurgence
Famicom Detective Club: The Shadow Over Paradise
History Hop with Mr. Game & Watch!
Mach Rider Reborn
Mario Big League Brigade
Mario Rim Rumble
Paper Mario: The Miraculous Mirror
Super Mario Generations
Waluigi Pinball
Wario Land: Flip It!
Wave Race: The Triton’s Call
Yoshi’s Biscuit Bazaar

Anyone is (of course) welcome to come up with their own ideas.

  • Super Mario Century (3D Mario themed around the 40th anniversary)
  • The Legend of Zelda: Reflection of the Future (Zelda game with futuristic sci-fi themes mixed with traditional fantasy)
  • Super Smash Bros. Genesis (reboot focused on a mostly fresh roster. Lots of characters from 2010s and 2020s games)
  • Yoshi's Playground (3D Platformer set in kindergarten playground)
  • Camp DK (3D Platformer with a camping theme for some reason)
  • Animal Crossing: Election Year (New Animal Crossing game where you have to run for town mayor in an election campaign, trying to get the villagers to vote for you)
  • Star Fox Siege (traditional Star-Fox game)
  • ARMS After-Party (expanded version of ARMS. Not quite a sequel but not the original either.)
  • Kirby and the Doom Dimension (Forgotten Land sequel with a multiverse theme)
  • Metroid Invasion (Metroid 6 by Mercury Steam)
  • Wii Sports Legacy (made for the 20th anniversary of Wii Sports. Miis return with no Sportsmates in sight)
  • Super Mario Bros. Star Wars (2D Mario themed around the Star Wars franchise. Just go with me on this one)
  • Pokémon Coral and Pokémon Teal (Pokémon games set in a Florida inspired region)
  • Super Mario Party: New Year's Eve (Jamboree sequel with a New Year's Eve party theme)
  • Tomodachi World (massively expanded Tomodachi Life sequel)
  • Super Mario 3D Maker (Mario Maker 3 with 3D level creation)
  • Wario Ware Direct It! (The theme is Wario making his own Nintendo Directs and you have to play through the micro-games he announces)
  • Mario and Luigi + Sonic and Tails (New game in the style of Brothership that crosses over with the Sonic series)
  • Fire Emblem Seabound (new game with a sea/boat theme)
  • Chibi-Robo Resort (New mainline Chibi-Robo game set in a massive hotel)
  • Paper Mario: The Crystal Keeper (New Paper Mario game in the style of TTYD)

MAAAAAAAAAAAAN

Xenoblade Chronicles X remaster and X2.
That's all I can think of right now.

  • 3D Mario game blending the philosophy behind Odyssey and Bowser's Fury with full four-player MP
  • 2D Mario game inspired by the Great Cave Offensive
  • Mario Kart Crossover, focusing on more Nintendo IPs for characters and tracks, as well as a fleshed out single player mode a la Diddy Kong Racing
  • 3D Zelda with two-player multiplayer, Zelda and Link duo with their own unique set of abilities. In single player, you can swap between the two seamlessly, with the inactive character assisting you with not-ass AI.
  • 2D Zelda with an interesting multiplayer twist
  • Kirby Forgotten Lands sequel
  • Kirby Air Ride 2, with a significant online component focusing on City Trial style modes
  • Donkey Kong Country 4
  • Animal Crossing: Community, cuts down on crafting and the town God angle, focusing more on meaningful NPC interactivity and sim mechanics. Choice of biome. Loads more interactivity with items, more mini games, etc.
  • Super Smash Bros sequel, hopefully culling the roster and reworking all existing move sets. More interesting single player adventure mode, inspired by Subspace Emissary
This is 50% wish list, 50% prediction

Year 2:
-Kirby and the Fabled Land: Kirby’s first real fore into fantasy. Dragons, Wizards, midevil castles, and other iconic fantasy landmarks will be littered all throughout. This game is similar to Robobot in how it takes the amazing foundation of the prior game and improves just about everything. More copy abilities, levels, the story is more present in the beginning, the works
-Samus Reborn: An evolution on Dreads gameplay style that takes on a new overarching plot without the Metroids. The X are the main villain, and the federation is as incompetent as always
-Wario Land Destruction: Destroy everything in sight as Wario gets his most destructive game yet. It’s a 3D platformer that is more in line with the Wario Land games compared to Wario World. The destruction comes in the way of kaiju bosses at the end of every world
-Mario Sluggers Hyper League: mediocre sports game, next
-Animal Crossing City Scappers: An evolution of the New Horizons gameplay that adds more shops and land. You can now buy apartment complexes, massive buildings, new islands with unique landscapes (cities, jungles, deserts). Villagers have more dialogue again, and they made sure more fo the old content was available at launch compared to New Horizons

Year 3:
-WarioWare Battle Royal: Not actually a battle Royal, it’s just Wario forced all his friends to make only battle royals. It’s pretty much just a critique on the modern live service craze, with everyone struggling to make games not in their comfort zone and finding ways to keep making what they like
-Donkey Kong World: K Rool, hiding under DK island and plotting for years to destroy the kongs, has used his connections to set bases throughout the world in preparation for his ultimate plan. He takes the extended Kong family and spreads them across the world, using them as vessels for robotic Creations his wife made while he was hiding away. A gag is that nobody remembers him until the end of the game when DK realizes how their fates have been connected for so long and they have an insane fight to the finish
-Kirby and the Stars of Light: A Kirby RPG made by square as a successor to Mario RPG and uses copy abilities as a unique way of reinventing the combat. Goes on for 15-20 hours and has a 20 minute final boss song
-Super Smash Bros: A full reboot that pretty much goes in the Marvel Vs Capcom direction, has roughly 40 characters with a focus on the most iconic characters throughout gaming history alongside some obscure picks. I would make a roster, but I’m tired. All I’ll say is that Parappa will be in the game. Every old characters has a revised moveset, every character has a stage, and the items/assist trophies/pokemon are mostly new. A Sub Space esc story mode is also here, rejoice

I’ll see if I want to make more later, but for now this is good

Not naming things bc I'm bad at that, but the main releases for the first 3 years IMO looks something like:

Year 1:
  • Mariokart, Prime 4 (Crossgen), 3D Mario Launch Window
  • 2D Kirby
  • Legends ZA (Crossgen)
  • Animal Crossing Holidays
Year 2:
  • 2D Metroid
  • Xeno game
  • Fire Emblem
  • Smash Bros
  • Pokemon Gen 10
Year 3:
  • 2D Mario
  • 3D Kirby
  • 3D Zelda
  • Splatoon

First couple years need to at least consist of:
3d Mario
New ip x2 1 being AAA
Series revival
MK9
Xeno team game
Wii sports with effort
Teasers for next Smash & Zelda.

Hopefully they do something close to this.

Animal Crossing: Community, cuts down on crafting and the town God angle, focusing more on meaningful NPC interactivity and sim mechanics. Choice of biome. Loads more interactivity with items, more mini games, etc.
God, PLEEEEASE. I just want to live with the animals, I do not desire to rule every facet of their lives. Just give me more and more fun ways to do that.

Tell me about it! I was so disappointed with how limited and repetitive villager interaction was in New Horizons. I really think they can strike a balance between town builder and sim, but I'd love more than anything for the series to return to feeling like you're just a villager like everyone else. Franky, I can't see them stepping too far back from the foundation they've set with town builder and God mode, unfortunately.

I would genuinely be fine with them maintaining most of the God mode features if they just shift the core focus away from them. If I CAN Terraform my island/town, whatever, but making those kinds of things some of the key selling points of the game really tints its identity. The focus needs to be on the life sim side of things, no matter what powers they want to give or take away.

The Legend of Zelda: Reflection of the Future (Zelda game with futuristic sci-fi themes mixed with traditional fantasy)
Well, isn't this like every Zelda game since WW? 😃
Agree, it might be interesting to see more than glimpses of ancient advanced civilzations in Zelda world.

Super Mario Journey (collectathon)
Super Mario Bros. Wonder World (3d world)
Super Mario Bros. Marvel (2d)
Mario Kart X (cross)

Animal Crossing: New Frontiers

Donkey Kong Kingdom

F-Zero ZX

Mario Tennis Aces Second Serve

Paper Mario: The Secret Glyphs (maybe based on Calligraphy/Sygaldry)

Metroid 6: Extraction (both on the idea or rescuing/escaping, but also maybe new metroid powers that extract energy, both by the player and new enemies/Metroid types?, could be fun to go on new X parasite mutant hunt).

The Legend of Zelda: Rise from the Ravine (Ocean stuff time)

Wario Ware: Bring it Together
Wario Ware: Make a Move/ Shape up

Luigi's Mansion 4: Luigi's castle

Pokemon Legends: Complete Chrome
Pokemon: Rainbow and Aurora

2025: Metroid Prime 4 as a cross gen game to kick things off, then Nintendo go in hard for Mario to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Super Mario Bros. a 3D Mario and Mario Kart 10 are the tentpole releases for the console's first holiday season. A family friendly party game and a couple of enthusiast orientated titles fill in the gaps (my out there prediction, Fire Emblem and Xenoblade Warriors).

2026: A quieter year but the big games are a new Animal Crossing instalments and Pokemon Gen 10 (for the 30th anniversary), with potentially some new instalments among the Donkey Kong/StarFox/Kirby tier franchises. MonolithSoft also get a new game out because they're wizards.

2027: The big games this year are a brand new Smash, Luigi's Mansion 4, and something Zelda (a remake perhaps) and Metroid (a new 2D one) for their 40th anniversaries.

2028/29: Difficult to guess after this point but this is probably when we see the next mainline 3D Zelda and Splatoon 4.

These are my guesses for the big hitters. Guessing the smaller level titles you might as well throw darts at pictures hanging on a board.

Had some more wacky predictions/ideas I wanted to throw out there:

  • Kid Icarus: Olympus (New 2D Kid Icarus game in the style of the first two entries. Features a gorgeous hand-drawn artstyle)
  • Pokémon Spotlight (A full game based on Pokemon Contests from RSE/DPPT/ORAS. Takes heavy inspiration from the anime’s portrayal of them)
  • Nintendo Symphony (A very classy rhythm game featuring music from Nintendo’s greatest hits throughout the years. Rhythm Heaven fans unfortunately get nothing)
  • F-Zero (2028) (A complete reimagining of the SNES original, mostly taking its gameplay from the later entries. It’s essentially a reboot of the series)
  • Subcon (A modern reimagining/sequel of Doki Doki Panic. No, not Super Mario Bros. 2. I mean straight up Doki Doki Panic).
  • Blades of a Feather (Brand new IP from Nintendo EPD! A motion controlled online sword fighting game starring Pirate Ducks)
  • Nintendo Toy Chest (A spiritual successor to Clubhouse Games: 51 Worldwide Classics, focused this time on replicating different kinds of toys. Nintendo’s devices from their days as a toy company are also replicated)

Meaning Fuji TV would be involved due to the original four heroes being copyrighted to them?

(also, I updated my op to include more insane ideas I came up with over time).

Chibi-Robo: The Zip Lasher- A fucked up twisted version of Chibi-Robo who wants revenge against those who don't recycle. It's still a 2D platformer with the Zip Lash mechanics

Everybody's Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild - A beautiful 4K version of BotW replaces all horses with these Horse Men who keep trying to sell you on mini-games that requires you pay real money, there's a cameo from Rusty from Rusty's Real Deal Baseball

Urban Champion: 40th Anniversary Edition - This is actually just a re-release of the NES game with no changes. $90.

Yoshi's Flipping Island - First Nintendo game to be rated AO

Acid Ghost - Yup
