NSO GB NSO May 2024 - Alleyway, Baseball, Super Mario Land, (Japan only) For the Frog the Bell Tolls out now!

Welp, I guess it's time for another playthrough of mario land!!! Also, cool that I have a easy access to a break out game on nso. That is always a good time waster.

Might even download the japan app and try out the frog for whom the bell tolls. Always had an interest in that game
 
I remember being utterly baffled a few months ago when I went to play Super Mario Land on NSO and realized it wasn't actually there. Why it wasn't on the GameBoy NSO app from day one is beyond me. Glad it's finally here!
 
Yeah we are finally done with the roadmap now that The Frog for Whom the Bell Tolls is on Japan's GameBoy NSO app.

Wondering if we get a new roadmap in the Direct next month?
 
It feeds my completionist tendencies to see these libraries slowly grow.

I've always been curious about For The Frog The Bell Tolls. I somewhat hope we get a localization via a remake that looks like Link's Awakening 2019 eventually.
 
Me, two months ago: "Why does anyone give a shit about Super Mario Land? It's, like, the worst Mario."
Me, right now: "Awesome, Super Mario Land is finally here. Gonna be fun replaying that."
 
I believe For The Frog The Bell Tolls would require a full translation to play (i.e., you really need to know Japanese), so I'm not surprised it isn't here. That said, I look forward to giving Super Mario Land a replay tomorrow.
 
Super Mario Land. The first game I ever returned to the store after playing, lmao. That's 1 out of 2 all-time.

And "Baseball" is trippin' me out. I had Bases Loaded (GB version) and god, I played that soooooo much. So who ripped off who? 🤣 Who's got the story?

If there were something, it'd be announced later this month. For the most part, announcements for the Expansion Pack are separate from base NSO. That said, they've been doing 2 updates a month for a little while now, so a mystery GBA game could be on the cards later this month.
 
Hold on, didn’t Nintendo launch another GameBoy service early last year, something with “advanced” in it or something. Considering how Nintendo forgot, I can’t imagine it’s important

It’s been 14 months and we’re already going entire months without a single game. There is no reason we should be going this slow this early when there are so many game they could be adding

For the Frog the Bells Tolls has a great fan translation that’s highly worth playing. Game’s only a few hours and not super challenging!
 
Nice additions! Super Mario Land finally arrives. Great game and great memories. Gonna fire this up tomorrow after work.
 
I know I'm a heretic but I've always prefered to the first Super Mario Land. The chunky sprites on the sequels might look better but they always made me feel claustrophobic on that tiny screen. Physics are a little janky, but it's better than its reputation.

Absolutely nuts that it took this long to get Super Mario Land on the system. Should’ve been there day 1.

What’s left now? I’m not particularly familiar with the GB/GBC library, so the only big games I know of that aren’t on the system yet are the Wario Lands and DK94.
