the fallback options are usually the original raster rendering method. since RT was secondary, they're not necessarily a good example. RT exclusive games (or game, Metro Exodus EE) doesn't have a fallback. that doesn't mean there can't be any. they can do "RT off" mode that has no shadow/AO/diffuse color from lights. it'd be just the objects texture color. they could also do screen spaces methods like SSR/SSAO/SSS and whatnot.Couldn't that kinda cause compatibility issues with some games? Or does every game that uses dedicated RT hardware have a fallback option? I'm not too familiar with RT games.
