StarTopic Famiboards Discussion Club |ST| A Community Podcast, Directly to You! (New Episode! Indie World and Partner Showcase Discussion!)

I would love a new 2D Zelda for a Direct ender, yes! And I will join the chorus of voices clamoring for an HD port of Kid Icarus Uprising, it's criminal that it's been stuck on 3DS.

We really are swimming in the primeval soup of chaos and uncertainty for the next Direct, and I cannot wait.

Minor housekeeping note, but we've updated the YouTube channel from "Famiboards Discussion Club" to just "Famiboards". The podcast itself is unchanged, it's just hosted on the Famiboards YouTube channel. I did this for a few reasons: one to help with channel discoverability, two to allow posting non-Podcast videos on the channel in the future, and three to lockdown the Famiboards username.

Firt episode listening to the Podcast and it was really a good time.
I will definitely listen the others.

Also, really excited for the next Direct. We could get something fresh and surprising. The last ones were more... tame ( but still with good games).

For this direct bets for me are just safe ones following the leaks we've already got (Some or all of the Final Fantasy Tactics being remastered, then throw a Xenosaga or new trilogy from Monolith Soft along the Roto Saga of Dragon Quest in 2D-HD remasters)
As of games that will be on opening for the Switch 2, safe to bet on Prime 4 will be there; add a new 3D Mario and perhaps a new Zelda. Then I'd guess both the remake of FF IX (Mainly hinted by the leader of Creative Unit 3, mister Naoki Yoshida) and the retelling of VII for opening from Square (The Re:FFVII is mainly just a wish to stick it to the Sony fans) and... you'd think that Enix could also drop DQ XII? Wildest cope are either Mario Kart 9 or directly the pipe dream that is a new F-Zero or a remaster of F-Zero GX with the stuff of AX and/or both GP Legends and Climax on the package.
Regardless looking forward the next Direct too, this time with less farms around if possible!

First episode listening to this, and what an episode. Great discussion all around. I really like all the picks and angles considered for both Switch 2 and the direct.

My thoughts:
  • They could do a repeat of the Zelda + Mario one two punch again, but with , wait for it, OoT Remake (ground up, not 1-1 with the N64 game, world is scaled up ) + new Mario
  • 2D Zelda makes sense for 2024 holidays
  • Anything is possible this direct, which is kind of crazy.
I am really hoping for some sort of 2d zelda, either a remake or a new game. I would love for the oracle games to get remade, that would be super cool.

OK, so I'll be real.

With Sylux in the trailer, should I go back and try to find love in the hopeless place that is Metroid Prime Hunters.

Questions for the Podcast...

1. Does this direct change your perception of the Switch's twilight years?

2. Were you surprised that they held the Sylux hint continuity in the Prime 4 reveal?

3. Which Famiboards Pride Event design is your favorite? Are you planning to pursue any of them?

4. Did anyone try the Grรถgol Bonanza demo? Any thoughts?

Since it was announced in General that Aurc would be a guest, I have a couple questions for him:

When The Process first spoke to you, how did you know it could be Trusted? And am I right to assume its voice sounds like Nicole Kidman?

Actual Metroid question: what are your thoughts about the function of the jungle area in the end of the trailer? Will it be the hub/overworld for the game (like Tallon Overworld) or simply one of the locales we visit?

How do you feel about the structure of Directs, specifically the voiceovers over almost every trailer? Do you think it changes how attentive you are? Do you feel a difference between the trailers shown with voiceover and those without it?

Do you think the reason weโ€™re getting 60$ HD remaster is because of the voucher program?

And whatโ€™s your opinion of the possibly last Switch line up, before the Switch 2 takes over.

Episode 10- June Nintendo Direct
New Episode is up! We discuss the Nintendo direct, including the reveal of Metroid Prime 4 with Metroid superfan @Aurc!

@Aurc I didn't even think about time travel in Prime giving us a chance to explore Zebes in 3D and now I want

Also I appreciate you explaining The Process in a way that applies to life itself. โค๏ธ I will be carrying the message with me.
Keep believing, my brother in The Process! ๐Ÿ™

And yeah, Zebes in 3D would be some wild shit, right? Not the whole planet, just a small portion of it, obviously. That, or one of Zebes's moons:
Samus uses the phrase "Great Moons of Zebes!" in the early Captain N: The Game Master comics. It is shown in the Metroid Manga that Zebes had two moons, one very large in appearance from the surface and another that is smaller. Both moons also appear in Metroid Prime as holograms in the Observatory. The larger moon had a normal revolution, while the smaller moon had a retrograde orbit.

The fates of the moons after the planet's destruction are unknown. Assuming they were not also destroyed by the explosion of Zebes, it is likely that they continued to orbit their sun within the former planet's debris field.
Alternatively, if Beyond is set after Super like some have speculated, could you imagine visiting an intact fragment of Zebes after it was blown to bits? ๐Ÿคฏ Maybe we'd need to return there for an essential upgrade of some sort.

Now seems like a good time to tell you btw, 'cuz I don't think I'd mentioned it before: I enjoyed the Samus helmet you recently had on Sonic, and the little Metroid on him now is equally as tasteful! ๐Ÿ˜„
I'm glad you caught that! I was afraid the Metroid was too small on the icon, so thanks for the reassurance ๐Ÿ˜

Hey everyone!

With the summer news cycle being a bit slow at the moment, weโ€™re taking suggestions on what youโ€™d like us to talk about for the next episode! Feel free to send any suggestions or general questions you might have!

What games are yall looking forward to for the rest of this year aside from the big Nintendo franchise releases that were shown off?

Nobody asked

So, if y'all can choose one (preferably non-nintendo and non-SEGA) retro system to get an app on NSO with a nice line-up of games, which one would it be and with what games?

Shamelessly reposting one of my weekly discussion topics from the general thread this month:

Board games are also increasingly popular in Japan and some of Nintendoโ€™s partners like Square-Enix and Capcom are starting to dabble in developing them or licensomg them out for original works. With Nintendoโ€™s long history as a toy maker and a playing card manufacturer do you think weโ€™ll ever see original board games designed and published by Nintendo? What IPs would you like to see given the board game treatment and how do you think they might do so?

New episode is ready!

thank you for reporting on cheeseborgle...

Just finished listening to the newest episode of the podcast.

@VolcanicDynamo Tezuka-san has been informed of your infraction and will be sending a sternly worded letter to you shortly.

@Irene How did you know I like to dress up with paper bags with creepy smiling faces drawn on them?! Where are you? Are you in my walls?! GAAAHHHHH

Have any of you tried the Epic Mickey ReBrushed demo? I've been sharing my impressions in the thread about the game, and personally, I think it's such an improvement of a game that I already loved back on the Wii, even though I knew very well it was flawed; Most of the quirks that were holding the game back now are gone, if you haven't tried, I highly suggest it!

-- Also, which of the missing Capcom fighting games you would include in a Fighting Collection 3? and why you all don't agree with me that Street Fighter The Movie should be priority? :<
