Not gonna lie I am aggresively disapointed that it is a visual novel.

Really wanted a Nintendo take on a straight up horror game.

I knew it had to be some sort of colorful anime-looking game.

People were hyping themselves up thinking Nintendo was making a gritty Silent Hill-type game.

Can't wait to play as my favorite Nintendo protagonist : Taro Ninten!

Also, is it just me or Ayumi looks hilariously bored/unimpressed in the key art?

Sorta bummed out, as Famicom Detective Club isn't really my thing. Really cool that it's getting a new release though, fans of the franchise will surely feast on it, especially with Sakamoto working on it.

Really cool to see this series return, and man what a way to hype it up. I am not the biggest visual novel fan, but I will say,the marketing for it really pulled me in. Gotta hand it to them for that

Almost fainted when I saw the price tag (before noticing the region)

50$ still seems kinda steep to me if stuff like Captain Toad and Prime Remastered are 40$ games.

I get that the genre may not actually expand the audience as much with a lower price tag though. I need to see more to know if I am interested. 999 is one of the few visual novels that grabbed my interest in the past so while I would've rathered a straight up horror game I am open to be being convinced here.

Sakamoto kinda been on a good run lately.

Hopefully this game ends up doing well critically and the writing is good.

The blurb on the NA website mentions Ayumi being playable in sections which is cool but it also mentions her being playable for the "first time" completely ignoring the satellaview game so I think the dream of that ever being remade is dashed

YEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAH
THIS IS AWESOME
I am so happy we're getting a new Famicom Detective Club, I loved the remakes and can't wait to see what they're cooking with this one

Pretty standard pricing for a visual novel

I was hoping for a brand new IP but still very happy with this!

Next month is great too as it’s not too far away but gives me time to finally get round to the remakes. I was hoping they’d be on sale but I’ll just bite at this point.

Investigate a brutal death and its connection to an urban legend

A student has been found dead! His head was covered with a paper bag with an eerie smiling face drawn on it—much like the victims of Emio, the Smiling Man—a killer of urban legend who is said to place such a bag over his victims’ heads.

As an assistant private investigator, you are tasked with helping police solve this crime, which is reminiscent of a series of unsolved murders from 18 years ago. Has a serial killer returned, or is this the work of a copycat? Are these crimes inspired by the Smiling Man story, or the origin of it?

Discover the answers to these questions and more as a member of the Utsugi Detective Agency in this intense story of suspicion, isolation, and fragility.

Explore an interactive drama full of interesting characters

Continue the adventures of the Utsugi Detective Agency with the return of familiar characters—including the returning protagonist from previous games, and Ayumi Tachibana, who is now playable in certain sections of the game for the first time in the series!

Playing as the investigative duo, you’ll need to learn a lot about the personalities and backstories of the other characters if you want to discover the truth. Who is harmless, and who is keeping important secrets? Ask questions, reference your notes, and make connections—you’ll have to order your thoughts and examine your leads carefully to draw the right conclusions.

You know, I bought the first game, but never got around to finishing it. I should really work on that this month.

I'll get this game, since i love Sakamoto works.

Would be neat playing a Visual novel, since i have never tried them, it's always good to try something new, but the main takeaway is that this is Nintendo first M-Rated game made in house.

Which makes me interested seeing if they'll continue making more M-Rated titles, since Good-Feels anf monolith soft, mentioned wanting to make more vulgar products.

Overall i'm a bit excited and i'm more hopeful of seeing what Nintendo will made and produce for the Switch 2.
