With the Next generation of Nintendo hardware is almost upon us (In about 1 year) We'll be soon heating more from third party developers.
What are some Switch 2 ports you would like to see and play. It can be something completely niche or something that there's a low possibility of arriving, also something that's bound to happen.
Also it can be ports from Nintendo as well.

Here's mine lists.

Third party.
  • The Yakuza series (Sega)
  • Persona 3 reload and Persona 6 (Atlus, also a high possibility, but release window sadly unknown)
  • Final Fantasy 7 remake and Rebirth. (Square Enix)
  • All of Fromsoft Souls games. DD2-DD3-Sekiro-ER.
  • GTA6 and RDR 2 (Rockstar, with a high amount of copium for GTA 6)
  • Witcher Remake and witcher 4 (Not happening, but would be nice also from CDPR)
  • Baldur gate 3 (Larian)
Nintendo
  • Xenoblade X
  • Windwaker and twilight princess cross gen game.
  • Nes Remix 1+2

That's pretty much it.
 
I really REALLY hope Monster Hunter Wilds comes to Switch 2 day one, with crossplay. idk if that counts as a port though, since it'll be a new game

But yeah I remain cautiously optimistic on the prospects of Wilds! As long as Switch 2 tech isn't an issue, I think Capcom would absolutely want to do it. I've lugged my PS4 slim to friends' places a few times to play World, but there ain't no way in hell I'm gonna carry around any of the current gen stationary consoles lol. Even my friends who got World on PS4 are probably gonna get Wilds on Steam Deck... so I'm hoping extra hard for crossplay this time. My PC probably can't handle it, plus I love being able to move around

I'm still at shocked how Square couldn't just port Kingdom heart 1-2, meanwhile have 3 be cloud based.
Since kingdom heart 1-2 would be nice having it native, since having the lingering affect of the cloud being stinky on a old game, is dumb.
But having 3 be cloud i can understand, but 1-2 is baffling.

Honestly I'm pretty happy with the library on Switch. Nothing I truly want seems all that unlikely, but for sure I want more legacy Nintendo published content, Super Mario Galaxy 2 and Pokémon X/Y in UHD especially, even just basic remasters.

For third party content, I mean, I'd say Fable 2 and Forza Horizon 5, but while I love them, I've played them to death. Can I say Fable 4 and Horizon 6? 😅

From PlayStation (so, completely not happening), I'd love to see Flower, Shadow of the Colossus, Journey and Ico.

Oh and a My Sims Remake from EA, thank you very much. 🤪
 
If I had to keep it at a very short list I'd just ask for Street Fighter 6 and Satisfactory, I'd pretty much be set of life.
 
Some of mine are going to be weird because what I want is re-releases. For example, I want Sonic Frontiers to get a Switch 2 version, plus pretty much every Sonic game on Switch with 3D graphics (likely including the upcoming Generations port). It wouldn't be for me, but I think a Witcher 3 Switch 2 SKU (maybe with the remake of 1 and a port of 2, as well) would be a solid release, too. Dragon Quest XI getting updated with a higher resolution would be nice, too, but probably not necessary.

For actual ports, Hi-Fi Rush is a game I would buy on Switch 2, as it feels at home on Nintendo platforms to me. Also, because I have to include this, please give me a Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles collection. Skies of Arcadia Legends HD and some old Tales games would be nice, too. Lastly, let's complete the Square-Enix major franchise gaps by porting the Kingdom Hearts games natively and the remaining FFs with FFXIII trilogy, FFXIV, and FFXV (properly, this time).

As for Nintendo, pretty much any game from a previous platform that wasn't ported to Switch already. Xenoblade Chronicles X is a big one. I want Chibi-Robo to come back, even with just a basic port. Most of their GameCube library would get a lot of play from me.

If anything, Rise proves that the winning formula for Capcom is to release a mainline MH (Wilds) for home consoles and PC with a different game (Rise) for portable devices

GTA 6 would be my priority no.1 just because of the shitstorm it would create. MH wilds, P3, P6, Metaphor, ff13-16 +ff7 remake, rebirth, kh native ports, souls, elden ring, all the popular gacha games, resident evil remakes, gendesign's new game, no rest for the wicked etc...

pretty much everything ps5 gets, i want LOL

To determine the winning formula, we would have to see both scenarios play out. We've only seen one so far. It's also not exactly fair to call Rise a 'different game' when it still ends up getting ported to everything else.

On topic, I'd like to see some current-gen fighting games. It's always nice to have a portable version for labbing or more casual play.

FF14 is another game that would work well in portable mode. Yakuza's minigames also seem like a perfect fit.

Halo Master Chief Collection, Elden Ring, Baldur's Gate III, Jurassic World Evolution 2, Planet Coaster, The Sims 4, Hi-Fi Rush, The Evil Within 1 & 2, The Quarry, Mass Effect Trilogy, whatever the next mainline Need For Speed game would be, Mirror's Edge (and Catalyst too, I guess), and mostly a shitton of Gamecube games that should have been dumped a decade ago if they're just gonna be ROMs with a widescreen hack.

Don't get me wrong, I'm absolutely elated that Paper Mario: TTYD is getting a remaster and currently my only dilemma is if I want it physical to proudly have on display or digital to be instantly playing it come midnight, but Super Mario Sunshine arguably is the game that really deserved more effort put into its release in SM3DAS than what it got to smooth over it's many flaws (no matter how beloved the title is in my eyes)

My dream port right now would be Kid Icarus Uprising.
 
Would be cool to see the Kingdom Heart series on Switch going forward (this include new entires as well) - I'd also like to see Visions of Mana.

Other than that.. I just want reasonable games that could run on Switch 2 to do so.

And just for good measure, all the Layton games. Deserve to run on more modern hardware to.

No reason not to. I think Xbox might be planning a sequel. So aim is to give it a lot of attention with the port as a launch title, grow its audience and release the sequel at some point on all platforms together,

I mostly would want to see Monster Hunter be a day 1 on Switch 2 as well as Persona 6 and ReFantazio / new Atlus JRPG releases in general. A late port of Persona 3 Reload would be very welcome, too. Granblue Fantasy: Relink would make for a nice surprise as well.
First party wise, Xenoblade Chronicles X keeps being a huge wish of mine.


Other than that, I’m pretty happy with what we have gotten so far. If they repeat most of what they did with Switch 1, then I’ll be good for the most part.

I would love if Nintendo creates a specialised publishing label for third parties to release reimagined ports and remakes for DS and 3DS games on Switch 2. Digital mostly to cut costs and make sure it might be viable for more niche games, but maybe some physical releases here and there too.

For specific games, give me Elden Ring, EA College Football 24 (assuming it's even just an average sports game - otherwise NCAA14), and GTA VI

Not necessarily a port, but some version of GamePass, whether just the cloud service or a specific catalog of ports, would be great as well
 
I'm not asking much but the Switch 2 NSO could get sweet with just two additions :
Lufia II : Rise of the Sinistrals (SNES).
Lufia III : The Legend Returns (GBC).
 
I still want Mass Effect Trilogy but then I wanted it on Switch and WiiU too…

Monster Hunter Wilds would be great as a launch title.
