Don’t feel bad, it has some of the worst track designs in kart racer historyI am legit interested in this, I didn’t even know there was one before
I sadly have to agree on the latter sentence.Saw some gameplay of this on YouTube, and it looks so bad. The racing looks so slow.
I find it interesting that there's quite a focus on FF IX characters especially when FF IX remake was mentioned in the Geoforce leak database.
FYI this stream confirms most of the footage is beginner speed, and the time stamp should show master speed
This was announced during the Nintendo Direct, but I felt it deserved a discussion thread here.
I've never played Chocobo Racing on PlayStation so I'm intrigued to try this.
Many of us Final Fantasy fans will buy it.This is so weird. What "Switch owner" is this game trying to attract? Because I don't see many Mario Kart owners buying this.

But how many Final Fantasy fans own a Switch.I don't see this game doing well at all, but the more games the Switch gets the better.
I mean they already put FFVII-X,XII, Chocobo MD, WOFF, XV pocket and some other random stuff on thereBut how many Final Fantasy fans own a Switch.I don't see this game doing well at all, but the more games the Switch gets the better.
I only know one thingI hope we can play as Chaos.

YES, that's what initially caught my eye. There's definitely a certain MK8-ness to it that other recent "kart" racers don't have.It gives off strong MK8 vibes.
Well as someone who loved the original, it was a day 1 on whatever platform it came to. Focused specifically on switch, Chocobo Racing GP is the kind of game I'd gift my sister's family or my younger cousins who enjoy MK and don't buy many other games. This is so weird. What "Switch owner" is this game trying to attract? Why should this compete with Mario Kart? Just because Nintendo has a super popular game in the genre on the platform, it's not an obstacle for others to sell. Both Crash Team Racing an Team Sonic Racing did pretty well on Switch. IIRC Sonic Racing sold best on Switch. This is so weird. What "Switch owner" is this game trying to attract? Definitely in agreement with you there. I honestly thought that statement wouldn't amount to much but it does seem they "put their money where their mouth is" so to speak, at least compared to what I was expecting. I really do think the Switch provides an excellent oportunity to revist series that had fallen by the wayside or just didn't have a place in a more AAA focused market, so for once it seems like Square Enix and I were on the same page. Hopefully there are more revivals to come, hoping for Front Mission, Valkyrie Profile and a new Crystal Chronicles ( Hopefully one that is a proper follow up to the Gamecube original ) myself. Either way I'm excited to see what they have in store for the remainder of the Switch's lifespan. To me it’s just generally interesting that they decided to revive this franchise regardless of general reception and sales in the end . It’s been great to see Square stick to the statement they made that with switch they would bring back various franchises and ideas that otherwise they couldn’t justify doing either in the AAA focused markets of the ps/xbox or on the more gacha, etc focused mobile market.
Personally I am hoping for them to try their hands at another Fortune Street and another try at the Final Fantasy Explorers concept (hey in a world with "emo/punk final fantasy dark souls" they definitely can try "final fantasy monster hunter" again).I

I wouldn't mind seeing them try their hand at another FF Explorers, I have a copy for 3DS and enjoyed it well enough. The execution had some rough edges, but the concept definitely has merit, and as a big Monster Hunter fan the world can always use some more Monster Hunter. If they do revisit it though I would love see them take less of a Monster Hunter with FF series fan service angle, and create a more crafted world for the sub-series to exist in that still calls back to the "FF mythology" kinda more like they did with Crystal Chronicles.Personally I am hoping for them to try their hands at another Fortune Street and another try at the Final Fantasy Explorers concept (hey in a world with "emo/punk final fantasy dark souls" they definitely can try "final fantasy monster hunter" again).
In the original you could also choose to have 3 different spells instead of a stack of 3, including having a level 2 spell and a different level 1 spell. Hopefully that mechanic is back in this game cause it added some nice strategy to each item box set.The mechanic of collecting the same magic and having it stack into a more powerful variation is a cool idea. Otherwise, I'm not sure if this is for me, and that's fine.
That's still happening on this one.
