I accidentally overcomplicated myself as I accidentally put a 1 week student prime trial (for 0.99) for Amazon instead of me intending to pay for an entire year due to a misclick. Went to end membership but it didn't immediately do it (might be misunderstanding how it works tho lmao.) and went to spam click the End Now option over and over and now it doesn't even show the button anymore lmao. So I had to resort to pause instead and wait for the pause on Sept 9.

My dog had to go to the dentist today to get her teeth cleaned. She needed to be put under and everything. I hope she’s ok when I go and pick her up in a few hours!
Finished getting my new iPhone set up. Apple makes this process so easy, it’s incredible. All my apps, photos, everything. I’m signed in to everything I was on my old phone, even the tabs I had open in Safari were there when I opened up the browser. That’s kinda mind-blowing.

Basically a hangout spot for people interested in space, be it scientifically, be it through depiction of space in media, whatever. This is a very lose idea from someone who loves reading and talking about everything space.
So I just ordered a phone case but I'm not sure about the case colouring, I went with a kind of platinum grey/white thing but I feel it clashes with the artwork a bit. Any opinions? I kinda feel like cancelling my order and changing it to a safer black instead.

it doesn't look like it clashes at all to me. if you wanna go with black you do you. but I think the color looks nice as-is. I'd have no problem rocking that color case!

I don't know if the right spot, but my mum passed away this Wednesday, and I can't seem to keep my mind busy. I don't feel like these days have gotten any easier. This is the worst I've ever felt, I hate being in my dad's house, I just want to cry while I'm there, but I know my dad needs help too. I don't know, this doesn't feel real, and the fact that she's gone...forever just devastates me. I just wish I knew what to do to make myself feel better, I'm lost and sad.
Doesn't help that the last thing I ever said to her was just, "bye", and she texted me the night before asking me to help her with her new phone, bug I never responded. It destroys me that she never heard back from me.
I don't know how to cope, or move forward without thinking about this all the time. God I miss her.

I’m very sorry for your loss. I don’t know what else to say, or if there even anything else to say, but I’ll be keeping you and your dad in my thoughts.
I notice that it has only 4GB of RAM (minimum for Windows 11) but is upgradeable to 12GB. Can someone more knowledgeable than me give me a link to which stick is best to upgrade it with so her computer isn't slow as a snail? I'd really appreciate it.
Side note: I'm glad even £250 laptops from Currys have SSDs in them now. No one should have to suffer a Hard Drive.
What's up with barbers literally always cutting hair too short? Or at least that's my experience with them. Got my hair cut today and said to not take too much off the top, just neaten it up a bit basically and I come out with my hair like half the length it was on top. I'm gonna have to start being one of those people who shows a picture to the barber so there can be no confusion.

How is everyone today? I hope people are feeling well. Work is very slow for me (as it tends to be every January). I'm 31 and feel like I still fall into this trap of getting broke at the beginning of the year. So that's stressful but otherwise, I've been staying current with my therapist, and I started going to a chiropractor last month. So my mind and body feel okay, at least.
Been asked to record a happy birthday video message for someone and just like when I did last year I've gone through like 50 takes. Most of them about 5 seconds long where I quit recording cause it doesn't seem like I'm acting natural to me or I don't like how I look. My main problem is feeling like I just come across as bored in the video which tbf is true cause I hate doing stuff like this in general. Even worse when other people have sent the videos they've done and they're legit like over a minute long so now I'm trying to pad out the runtime but I can't think of anything that sounds like me since all I wanna say is literally "happy birthday, hope you have a nice day" but now that doesn't seem like it's gonna cut it. Annoying.
(edit) I nailed it, went for a message which was much more my style where I basically made fun of him for being an old man and suggested the next time I see him he might have gone bald. got it over 30 seconds as well and am really happy with how it turned out.
I am having a lot of anxiety this weekend. I have the kind of job where I see patients, and have been working for a few months to get someone to come in. He has trouble with being reached because of financial issues and losing his phone access. On Friday I started to get an explosive migraine a couple hours before his appointment, but I was convinced I would push through so I could finally see him. Headache started getting worse, so I used my break to try to get in a power nap. When my alarm went off, my headache was even worse, and to top it off I was having a great deal of nausea. Let's just say that throwing up discretely at work is not an option for me, and in the heightened concerns of our time, I would probably be immediately escorted out of the building (rightly so). So at 15 minutes to his appointment start time, I call the call in line and say I'm leaving sick. I'm having a mini panic and don't think I can call the patient myself and ask them to reschedule and apologize for me.
I feel like crap because of this. He has a long trip to come in that involves arranging transportation. He's a nice guy and I think he'll brush it off, but I'm just eating myself up over it. I would be so mad at my doctor if this happened to me. In my head, I know I did the right thing as I would have been useless in an appointment. I was out of commission for the rest of the night, and in my head I know that I wouldn't have been able to provide the care he deserves. I just wish I would have made the call sooner or something. I don't know, hindsight is 20/20.

If he had a problem with it, he didn't let on and said it was no big deal. He was able to get reimbursement for his travel expenses too, which is a load off my mind. Thanks for good vibes anyone who read.

Not been drinking much soda recently and having a lot more water instead. I'm slowly realising, I think soda makes feel like crap lol, I've been having some again over the past few days and each time I drink it, it just leaves me feeling bleh. I should stick to water I think.
That sucks, man. You went to the trouble of hiding the text, so I won't dwell on the details in reply, but having to keep secrets like that can really eat you up even if it's for a short time for a good reason. I feel for you.
