At last! The Nascar Heat Switch game has shown itself! While the other consoles get the new Nascar 21 Ignition game, Switch is getting some form of Nascar Heat, which as most would know was created by our old buds at Monster Games (Excite Truck). However Monster left the series after 4 and thus 704 Games went solo for Nascar Heat 5 last year. With 704 (now just operating as Motorsport) busy with Ignition, who's doing this game? I hope that Monster has been secretly doing it, as after all 5 apparently didn't really change that much over 4. It's still a Monster Games title in its DNA, just not this iteration specifically. Monster were doing those Tony Stewart games and SRX the Game this year (only on other systems), but who knows.
The title definitely implies this to be a sort of definitive edition. BTW the reason this is surely Nascar Heat 5, is not only does it have a similar box, but Motorsport said it was the case in an invester's release some months ago:
NASCAR Heat 5 Product Release
NASCAR Heat 5 is a racing video game simulating the 2020 NASCAR season. NASCAR Heat 5 was developed by 704Games and published by Motorsport Games on July 10, 2020 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Microsoft Windows via Steam. We are also expanding our supported platforms to include the Nintendo Switch and expect to launch NASCAR Heat 5 on the Nintendo Switch platform in time for the 2021 NASCAR race season.
Edit: Literally confirms it in the Amazon description:
- NASCAR Heat Ultimate Edition+, the official video game of the 2020 season, the world's most popular stockcar racing series puts you behind the wheel and challenges you to become the NASCAR Cup Series champion.
- Features the 2020 official teams, drivers, cars and schedule from the three NASCAR National Series as well as the Xtreme Dirt Tour, racing on 39 authentic tracks.
- Ultimate Edition+ includes everything in NASCAR Heat 5 Ultimate Edition, plus the 2021 NASCAR Cup Series Roster and 2021 primary paint schemes.
- Featured content includes 2020 Throwback and Playoff paint schemes, Tony Stewart as a playable character, plus more!
So... yeah!
Really looking forward to seeing how this turns out.
