You can tell certain people have never experienced a lazy Sunday nap with their cat and they would be much more pleasant people if they did

I just remembered that Ghost Trick is a thing that's actually happening, and is coming out two days after Raincode, which is a week after FF16. And I'm still playing Zelda, and still haven't gotten to Future Redeemed. Or Trails from Azure! Or Paranormasight!

This is one of the busiest first halves of a year that I can remember. Even with the second half looking pretty barren atm (oh wait Starfield is September, too!) I don't think I'm going to mind that too much since I'm going to need the time just to catch up on all this.

Here's some numbers analyzed by @necrolipe about Zelda's pre-orders on Amazon Brazil (which, by the way, has not yet shipped their copies)

This is just April and May, and even though currently Amazon Brazil is the only official place to get national physical Nintendo games, the proportion with other upcoming releases are scary;

Zelda with 5000 copies ordered;
Final Fantasy XVI is with just 600 copies (in May);
Street Fighter 6, both PS4 and PS5 versions combined, with only 250 copies ordered (also May);

Granted, I assume some of the demographic of those games are also going mostly digital (but that also should apply to Zelda, which is been available to us digitally at the sametime as everyone else), especially with SF6 on Steam;... but still... holy fuck;

I got my physical copy from an import store, but many are still waiting for their official Brazilian print;

on top of Zelda not being localized in Brazilian Portuguese, but I digress.

You ever lie awake at night thinking about how Metaknight got his own version of the Kirby victory theme in Smash Bros but Ganondorf has the same theme as Link and Zelda?

Your fandom has convinced me to give it a shot this go around, so here's hoping it is that difficult to put down!
Excellent! People in the sub were all up in arms over them adding a bunch of content creators like Jonboy to the game, but folks like that will bring even more sales to the game.

I tried to play Splatoon 2 together with another friend online yesterday. I then noticed that while I could play private battles together 1 vs 1, I could not play traditional Turf War 4 vs 4. I wonder if that is due to my internet connection or the online service of Nintendo

I look forward to a Nintendo direct popping out of nowhere a week later

I have put TotK on hold to play some more Dragon's Dogma, since the trailer for the sequel got me in the mood. I just don't think I have it in me to play one game exclusively for dozens of hours on end anymore.

That's peculiar to me. SMB is much more of an arcade game than something like The Show, and arcade sports game have a long history of guest stars, from POTUS to Colin Cowherd.

Is Jomboy problematic or something? I've only ever watched him watch Baggage.

Nah, it was more "I don't get this, why aren't they using this dev time on X" when it probably took them no time at all to create all these baseball influencers in the game using the same character customization tools we'll all be using.

as much as i adore totk and botw, and i really really do, does anyone just want an original, traditional, linear, plot driven zelda again? i kinda miss it
There’s a very loud minority that believes the next Zelda should go backward rather than forward. I’d rather they didn’t. Maybe for smaller scale-spinoffs from different developers, but the main team should keep doing what they’re doing.

Yup. I hope there is room for both 3D styles. Though I’m pushing hardest for both 2D and multiplayer Zelda to come first.

hmmmm it doesn’t necessarily have to be considered a backwards move. 3D zelda has always been open world. it can still be as sprawling as the new games but the dungeons require the relevant items, and then those items would be useful to complete shrines/ find secrets etc in the over world. the freedom to explore is still there, but the story beats are to be played in a specific order. like the memories are cool and all, but i much prefer the narrative in the older games, where the world has a story to tell (like botw and totk) as well as the characters going through the plot. the memories can remain, but i’d rather they were used as a way to enhance the story, than just a cutscene to explain some things. i feel like there’s not enough time with the characters to get invested in them. take malo for example in twilight princess, he’s a tertiary character at best but you see the progress of a tertiary character in such a satisfying way, which is sorta what i miss from these new games.

all this to say i’m absolutely loving totk, but i miss the old school way.

Love TOTK, but I hope we'll also see new 2D/overworld Zeldas in the future - I actually prefer that style to the pre-BOTW 3D Zelda games

I would love another lock-and-key type of top-down Zelda. 3D Zelda I feel will be staying open air, and frankly I’m fine with that, since I didn’t really like any of the pre-BotW 3D Zeldas.

I totally get people's desire for more traditional Zelda -- I still feel similarly when talking about Elden Ring and From's prior titles. I hope they don't just turn into an open world Souls factory now. I think that's pretty comparable to the Zelda situation overall, the difference being that I'm on the other side of the debate there, haha.

I just finished Marvelous Mrs Maisel and there's a feeling in the pit of my stomach and I feel like I'm gonna ugly cry

Well the PS Showcase certainly felt like good old E³, where EU-person me stayed up deep into the night to watch Sony's E³ event and ending up lamenting that it wasn't worth missing the sleep.

So yeah, the feeling for me definitely was E³-like!

*seth rogan laugh*

Seth Rogen to voice and/or play Kohga in the BotW animation/live-action movie!

On one hand, i'm actually interested in SF VI ....
On the other hand, i suck so bad at fighting games and won't be playing online at all ....

When in a state of not being able to make a decision ... as always for the last two weeks, i'm just going back to playing TotK.

Fellas, guess what? I'm trying out BotW again. This is the 3rd time I've bought this game. This time, I'm going to play it slow and with a walkthrough. I think it's the only way I'll be able to enjoy it/have it click. I have ADHD so I get distracted super easily. A guide will hopefully help me complete the majority of what's available to do in the game and keep me focused.

Also upgraded my NSO to include GBA games. God, Superstar Saga is SO FUCKING GOOD!!!
Fellas, guess what? It's just not for me. And that's okay. I'm hopeful that overhead/OG styled Zelda is going to be around for awhile. Oh well...
