I swear I feel like May just started but we're almost a week away from June lol. @Party Sklar You still good for next month's ST?

Anyone chomping at the bit to pick up July's ST for Pikmin 4?

The vibes are so horrendous and dire for Xbox fans that getting the fucking Inspector Gadget game is treated like a win.

It is kind of weird to see this type of tweet involving Xbox, because it feels like those messages you saw about Switch in 2017-2019, when a developer or publisher would be like "Show demand, Switch fans!!" only to almost immediately go "Because you asked for it, it is happening!" regardless of whether people answered the call or not.

If "Show demand, [Nintendo] fans!!" actually worked, I would have single-handedly willed Soul Calibur 2: HD Definitive Edition into existence on Wii U/Switch, but alas here we are.

Fuck these developers who poke sticks at their fan base and tell them "dance monkey, dance!"; it only serves to lessen my faith in their sincerity going forward.

I mean at least they have a tangible number to point to lol

Sharing two of my favorite Tina Turner performances. Obviously, GoldenEye first, as a huge Bond fan...

And then an incredible cover of a Robert Palmer song.

"But what if... I were to purchase squid ink and disguise it as my own colorful foam? Hohohohoho! Delightfully devilish, Square-Enix!"

Remember when Itsuno teased the possibility of Devil May Cry 5 on Switch as long as people showed demand by buying the Switch port of Dragon's Dogma? Probably the scummiest instance of a very scummy strategy.

Convenient that Switch, which has sold 500k or something isn’t on that list.
They're basically saying "we've pitched a sequel to Nintendo and they turned us down, so the hypothetical sequel needs to be multiplatform" But they don't have faith in other platforms either lol
Shit. Tina Turner died.
While this is a devastating news for me, she should be at peace now. She's been suffering from multiple health issues, including a major stroke. So long, Acid Queen! I hope the other life treats you better.

I know I haven't been around much anymore, but hot damn, that DD2 trailer.

Capcom are kings.

I wish they were kings on Switch too. Post MH Rise, their support has been abysmal as hell. More Rom dumps that could easily be additions to NSO and a quick mobile port of an otherwise great game. And lots of cloud releases that no one cares.

A part of me still hopes that their current slate will be a part of their successors lineup, DD2, SF6, RE4 and Exoprimal. But, I can't believe I'm saying this, I believe Capcom will have weakest support for the successor, out of all.

It’s so weird. I heard they had input on the system’s specs so they could get RE engine running on there and they’ve released a grand total of 2 RE Engine games on the system.

Sounds like the Sony event went over like a wet fart in church based on what Push Square is saying?

2 Live, 2 A Live
Eeeeeeee

Throws money at screen

But seriously, Tokita please get Chrono Trigger and Parasite Eve on modern consoles and then we can talk about LAL2

Shit. Tina Turner died.
Well shit :(

Playstation 5 Q makes me so irrationally angry, jesus.
Which phase is Nintendo on?
The one where they sit back and guffaw at Sony trying to copy them and absolutely missing the point again :ROFLMAO:

Q has big "Let's make a portable system with a battery sucking optical drive" energy

Looking at the mood of MGS3 remake I've seen the sentiment that since Kojima is not associated with it, people seem down on it.

I feel like people are bigger fans of Kojima than his games. I am not a fan of the mgs games or kojima in general so that might be my bias talking.

Catching up on the Sony Showcase:

  • MGS3 remake finally revealed, cool (not really for me but it's nice to finally see)
  • Talos Principle 2 is awesome, the original is a fantastic puzzle game so I'm into that
  • Spider-Man 2 looks pretty good, but still no date?

Otherwise, uhhhhh... some fun-looking Indies? Seemed like a pretty underwhelming show. I wonder how much of that is if they were being more on the conservative side (not a lot was shown that seemed super far off), or maybe SGF ate a lot of the announcements?

Yeah thinking more about it, I think I might end up liking the SGF Live Opening Night better than the PS Showcase, which is really saying something with a Geoff show

Marvelous can single-handedly blow everyone else out of the water if they announce Muramasa Rebirth for modern consoles at their event.

Big perk with Sony though, at least they don’t have ads in the middle of their ads like Geoff’s shows do.

That is a definite point in their favor! Just, oof for the PS Showcase. Lots of stuff I was hoping to see and didn't, and a whole lot of nameless/blended-together GaaS games. If Geoff got something like the Elden Ring DLC trailer then that'll beat it by itself (for me personally, of course).

(Talos Principle 2 is great, though! Game of the showcase)

I think if they have a good team, they can pull off a faithful remake with or without Kojima. Having said that, I think we are losing out on a reimagining using Kojima’s more modern style. His form as evolved a lot over the past 20 years and it would’ve been cool to see how he would make it today.

Bro these Across the Spider-Verse reactions.... I'm not ready, I'm so not ready. It sounds incredible.

This is a weird reaction

People are apprehensive given that we know nothing about the MGS3 remake other than that it exists and Kojima's games have such strong stylistic direction that his absence will certainly be felt

Konami hasn't exactly earned good faith here either, and this isn't the first time a Kojima-directed MGS game was remade to mixed results (Twin Snakes)

Personally MGS3 is already such a fantastic game they are gonna have to work overtime to convince me this remake is worth it

didnt they shove a movie trailer in there
Yeah but that was related to PlayStation. I meant more along the lines of show three trailers here’s five ads, show three trailers five more ads, repeat.

I think Geoff will have some good stuff at SGF, he usually does at least, but his shows are often draining :/ That said, the ad breaks are good spots for Fami or Twitter posting so that’s fun. Our Game Awards thread a few months ago was a great time.

Finally beat Fire Emblem Three Houses after taking a break for some TotK. Man, that was incredible. I’m starting a New Game+ to try another route. I’ve mentioned this elsewhere on the forum, but I was never really a Fire Emblem guy — but that changed when I fell in love with FE Engage. Hearing that Three Houses was supposedly much better, I HAD to try it… and yeah, I see how this has more community appreciation than Engage.

Great you like it! Three Houses is currently also in my top list of favorite Fire Emblems. But I also love the cast and story of Path of Radiance + Radiant Dawn (I see the games as one honestly) and Shadows of Valentia was also hype in my opinion :).

Yeah i think Dragon's Dogma 2 is going to be my most hyped game now after Zelda has released.

But i hope, and that is important for me, that they keep some of that jankyness that the first one had. It was part of the charm.

On another note:

Tina Turner .... why. Why always the good ones. Rest in peace, Goddess.

looney tunes ass game

Okay that short sequence where the player wants to activate the balloons to transport the big sphere upwards and ends up destroying the wooden plank it's Ultrahanded on, only for the balloons to fly away alone made me laugh.

That is peak cartoon.

Alan Wake 2 got me very hyped so I was thinking of buying Alan Wake Remaster since the last time I played the game was on X360. How is the Switch version now? I read that it was terrible at launch: bad framerate, ugly textures and blurry.

Now locked at 30 fps, slightly better textures, zero visual glitches (this was the biggest problem). It's still low res but not lower than some of the other Switch games in same leagues. Still, it's better to play it on handheld mode.
