it always annoys me how people assume everyone emulate things.
It's #TheGamerBubble
Basically no one outside of enthusiast circles cares about emulation. But acknowledging as much would require a lot of folks to think outside their narrow perspective, which, evidently, is too much to ask in most cases, sadly.

Also I personally feel Wind Waker deserve a full on remake with potential cut content put back in and portions of the game expanded or reworked, moving away from the grid ocean system to something more like a BOTW overworld with way more islands and land masses.

There isn't any cut content left to reuse. Whatever could have been salvaged would have either made it in to wind waker in other games, presumably primarily in twilight Princess, but they never specified when they were interviewed about it. Stuff could have also gone in to Phantom hourglass.

Anyway, if they were going to do a BOTW style remaking of a game, they'd do it for Ocarina or maybe Twilight Princess at a push, as the previous best selling games in the series by far.

Xenoblade X is a seriously impressive technical undertaking in terms of the scale, detail and seamlessness of its open world and how consistently it all runs on low powered hardware.

I always got the feeling from it that if you peeked under the hood you'd see this batshit insane jerry-rigged Rube Goldberg machine of code held together with sticky tape and prayers, yet by some miracle still working.

The fact that Xenoblade X is the one major Wii U game that Nintendo refuses to port or follow up on is insane and deeply saddening.

I'm pretty sure that Xenoblade X and Zelda Windwaker/Twilight Princess will get a port. Sooner or later it will happen. I'm much more concerned about games that can't be easily ported because of the controls. Luckily the Wii U did not have so many of such games, but the 3DS had.

I doubt they are waiting on Switch 2 to release in 4k & it’s more that the timeline to fit these games into a window that doesn’t feature another remaster, new entry, or other Zelda project hasn’t opened until recently. This would be at earliest next year which would be presumably when [Redacted] comes out.
I mean, I did say it was just a feeling and based on nothing concrete

Sonic & All-Stars Racing: Transformed deserves a lot more love. I bought that game and others with my Wii U, and played the hell out of it. A port with 60FPS performance and the Wii U exclusive content would be sweet. It was such a comedown to learn that Team Sonic Racing wouldn’t have any All-Stars on the roster… We could’ve had Bayonetta On Wheels. Really hope the next one has the All-Stars.

I'll be honest, I'd probably rebuy all the following on Switch:

  • 1001 Spikes (Nicalis)
  • Batman: Arkham City - Armored Edition (WB Games)
  • Batman: Arkham Origins (WB Games)
  • Costume Quest (Majesco)
  • Deus Ex: Human Revolution - Director's Cut (THQ Nordic)
  • Devil's Third (Nintendo)
  • Disney DuckTales Remastered (Capcom)
  • Dr. Luigi (Nintendo)
  • Dungeons & Dragons: Chronicles of Mystara (Capcom)
  • Kirby and the Rainbow Curse (Nintendo)
  • Knytt Underground (Nifflas Games)
  • Lovely Planet (Quicktequila)
  • Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate (Capcom)
  • Nano Assault Neo (Shin'en)
  • NES Remix Pack (Nintendo)
  • Nintendo Land (Nintendo)
  • Noitu Love: Devolution (Konjak)
  • Paper Mario: Color Splash (Nintendo)
  • Pier Solar and the Great Architects (Watermelon Co.)
  • PixelJunk Monsters (Q-Games)
  • Pushmo World (Nintendo)
  • Rodea the Sky Soldier (Kadokawa)
  • Scram Kitty and His Buddy on Rails (Dakko Dakko)
  • Sonic & All-Stars Racing: Transformed (Sega)
  • Sonic: Lost World (Sega)
  • Star Fox Zero (Nintendo)
  • Tank! Tank! Tank! (Bandai Namco)
  • The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD (Nintendo)
  • The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD (Nintendo)
  • Xenoblade Chronicles X (Nintendo)
  • XType+ (Phoboslab)
  • Year Walk (Simogo)
  • Yoshi's Woolly World (Nintendo)

While I understand that it's sequels make its absence sting less, my favourite Wii U game not on Switch has gotta be Splatoon.
It's single player component is quite underrated in my opinion and has one of the coolest final boss fights in recent years.

Yea as someone that has no personal desktop and a laptop there for work/browsing, it always annoys me how people assume everyone emulate things. I also don’t want to add even more stuff in my life if I can help it so I’d love to have as many games accessible to the one or two systems I decide to own.
it's that but also I presume the people asking for a XCX port also want a sequel. we ain't getting a sequel if all you are doing is emulating on PC.

They've been releasing Xenoblade games like every 2 years between games.

Xb2: 2017
Xb2/Torna DLC story: 2018
Xbde: 2020
Xb3: 2022
Xb3 dlc story: 2023

I think XBX for a late 2024 or sometime in 2025 is plausible.

Maybe they can update the character models and increase the draw distance? If they can do 720p handheld like the Wii U, that would be gold.

Switch 2/Drake could be 4k 30fps native or 4k 60fps on ultra performance or something.
We'll get XBCX eventually and probably the Zeldas this year. The answer is always gonna be Nintendoland, that shit ain't going anywhere.
We're not getting TP HD and WWHD this year when it's 5 months within Totk release. . Nintendo would not cannibalize their first party Zelda software like that.

Considering how optimistic Nintendo is of the Switch's life cycle, its realistic to expect it can last as long as last gen xbone and PS4. So imo, a late 2024 or 2025 would be the next best bet for Switch and Switch 2 ports.

Yeah I agree that Nintendoland will likely forever be a Wii u exclusive, unless they pull a reverse Wii u with Drake/Switch 2... Basically broadcast on a TV from Switch 2.

Xenoblade Chronicles X is the obvious pick. It would be absolutely hilarious to see Devil's Third rescued, though.
Devils third with better graphics and a stable framerate would be cool.

My hope for Xeno X is redone version that extended the story and end it, i mean i think there is no chanche that it will ever get a conclusion with a sequel

I would expect Xeno X and the 2 Zelda remasters to get a port sooner or later (probably later), but the rest is kind of in the air and a port may never happen.

My top pick would be Nintendo Land but that would be difficult because of the dual screen play. I would rather have a sequel. Xenoblade X is probably the most notable and easiest to port.

What if they do X on Switch as a lead in to X2 on Drake? The regular series seems pretty well concluded with 3, they may jump to something different next.

Honestly, if they ported it to the Switch, I'd pick it up again just for the online mode. That was utterly ridiculous and more games can use such ridiculous modes!

Issue with Xenoblade X would be all the networking work that'd need to be done to go from wii u to switch sa well as all the integrated wii u tablet ui elements.

Obviously not impossible but prob not as easy as how they remastered Xenoblade 1 with the definitive edition and I see people underestimating the workload way too often.

If we see Monolith suddenly hiring more people for network/online related jobs then I'll find myself more hopeful.

Otherwise both Windwaker and Twilight Princess seems like they'll happen eventually, as speculated before potentially for drake with high res versions (and/or maybe with 60 fps like SS)

Seems to me like making some tablet UI functions work without touch would be less work than massively redoing a lot of a game's graphics? Though I think both will happen by the time we see X again.

What's so different about online stuff on Switch vs Wii U? I haven't heard it as a problem for other Wii U ports.

I am surprised that we still dont have WW/TP HD ports, I guess sometime next year they will be released.

Xenoblade X should also be ported, Yoshi Wolly World is onother great game I would love to see,
IMO other games from one more reasons are not worth mentioning like potential ports.

Transitioning the online shouldn't be an issue. Other Wii U games with substantial online (ex: Mario Kart 8) made it to the Switch with online functionality in tact.

XCX had a notoriously bad UI with its microscopic text, so that element would need fixing regardless of the presence of a tablet screen.
