this looks like the Wii->WiiU upgrade discounts. are you sure you didn't just forget you never carried over and upgraded old Wii VC purchases?

Nintendo doesn't do sales like this and these aren't showing up on the web store...

Then you wouldn't see any of these discounts as they would just show as "purchased" :)

They are not on sale, these are the upgrade discounts for Wii VC titles you own in Wii Mode.

While the switch is what REALLY got me into gaming enthusiast circles, getting a 3DS around 2015-2016 is what got me back into games in the first place. Was it the New 3DS XL model? Cause I got that one too and the damn red coating peeled after a week. Never seen anything like it with their hardware and boy was it a disappointment. My white New 3DS is gorgeous though and has remained pretty for ~5 years and it will be a sad day when something goes wrong with it.

My black new 3DS xl has the paint or top coat peeling/bubbling at the intersection between the bottom cover and the top of the system

The 3DS is definitely the cheapest built Nintendo system I have ever owned. Those screens were an absolute nightmare with how much dust got in them. I also never had a piece of the hardware straight up fall apart like the circle pad did.
 
Im holding on to my two n3ds xl’s for dear life. I have a pretty big collection of physical games, and my primary system has a ton of digital games on it. I clean them pretty regularly, i also bought replacement batteries just in case

Yes, mine is a red New 3DS XL. I was wondering if I did something wrong with it, but I guess that kind of thing just happens, unfortunately.
 
My dream is for Analogue or someone similar to make a high quality DS/3DS one day similar to the Analogue Pocket, but currently that isn't feasible.

Maybe in 10 years.

I've homebrewed two of my three 3DSes over the past two days, it's incredibly easy now with exceptional video guides. You can make backups of your physical and digital games and saves and updates and DLC. Cannot recommend this sort of thing highly enough, especially once a system reaches the end of its lifecycle as the 3DS and Wii U are doing now.
 
Zack and Wiki double dip for that price!! One of my all-time faves and super under-appreciated!

Yeah I stupidly put a glass of water on mine for a very short time and it peeled off when I lifted it. Definitely not what I expected to happen. Hell, even if I expected something bad to happen, that wasn’t it.

I feel like every model has its own unique issues. As much as I love my New 3DS, the stylus holder is offensive. It’s placed on the bottom and wears almost instantly so it will fall out very easily. A new stylus will feel nice for maybe a week.
 
This pisses me off, I’m going to spend £18.99 on Zac and Wiki because Capcom refuses to acknowledge the rest of the world exists. Also I’m still bitter umbrella chronicles never came to the pal
Eshop.
 
I think I figured out why the Layton Mystery Journey (aka Layton 7 / "Lady Layton") DLC is mysteriously gone.

The game was probably delisted from the eShop when the Switch version came out.

When I went to pull the daily puzzles down a couple weeks ago it prompted me to pull a patch when I started up the cart. However, I don't see the update listed as available in the eShop if search the "Updates" genre. The game also doesn't appear in the search results if you look for "layton" but everything else in the series does.

The 3DS version of the game also doesn't appear on Nintendo's website: https://www.nintendo.com/search/?q=Layton+Mystery+Journey&p=1&cat=all&sort=df

While I can't find any news articles about the 3DS version getting delisted, that seems to be what happened, and that probably scrubbed the DLC from the storefront too.

And thus concludes Shoptroll & The Mystery of the Missing DLC

I really dislike how stuff like this feels like I'm eventually going to have to apply CFW to my system if I ever want to have a complete experience with some of these games.

Delisted games do also stop selling their dlc, the same happened for the project X zone games.

It's weird that Katrielle got delisted in NA at all though, it's definitely still up in the EU stores.

NA’s handling of the eShop in general is just bizarre. Like they yanked the Wii U listings from the website, along with DSiWare I think, but they’re still up on the JP site.

I suspect they were worried about consumer confusion or something over here.

DSiWare is still up on the webstore but it’s harder to find there since there isn’t an easy filter. It’s just bunched in with other 3DS games. It also doesn’t always seem to show up when you search for titles directly, which is incredibly annoying. But heres a listing as an example:

Gonna have to get the last couple dsiware games I guess too. Other than Shantae and Dark Void, nothing on there is coming back

I'm genuinely shocked I&F/Thunderful never re-released SteamWorld Tower Defense, not even on mobile. That game is just gone in a few weeks.
 
Picked up Attack of the Friday Monsters, Ace Attorney Spirit of Justice, Trauma Team, and one of the Breath of the Wild themes for 3DS. Not sure if I’ll pick up more but I’m pretty happy with that haul if I don’t end up getting anything else.

End of an era for sure.

This. I read the news and went to Nintendo's webpage to buy, at the very least, the AA Trilogy on 3DS, but CAPCOM refuses to acknowledge EU even in their very last sale for two consoles. This is ridiculous.

I just got my second £100 eshop
Voucher this month, during a cost of living crisis, but the fomo is killing me and to make matters worst one of the games I purchased was Devil Third. I think there is something very wrong with me.

Well fuck. Ran into the DSiWare space limit. Removed Art Academy for now since I have the 3DS version. But there has to be a way around this…right? I guess I can admit I’ll never actually make something with Petit Computer.

You should be able to move DSiWare games to/from the SD card similar to how the Wii worked

Did I read somewhere that some of the physical Trauma Team discs have an issue where they don't play and that we should check our discs in case we want to buy it as a Wii game on the Wii U eShop...or am I totally dreaming that?

Like disc rot or something? I played all the way through the game at launch and never had a problem.

Thanks, nah, it was like some weird issue where the discs themselves were faulty. Maybe I'm thinking of another game. But I have my Trauma Team disc deep within the semi-broken drawer under my TV stand so I can just test it when I will intertia into movement. XD

Reminds me that I bought Wii trauma team for $5 last year and should probably play it. And then get whatever ones are on VC. Atlus really should put these games on switch with a spruced up look.
