This might be the North American Direct date. Most of us are going to hear about the earnings as we wake up on the 7th, but will be waiting until the evening to actually watch the show
But that is still 7th in Japan. Making it highly unlikely. And don't see any reason why after all these years they would go with Tuesday suddenly. Only reason why that was last September was waiting for Splatoon release and TGS right after.

My prediction, week of February 6th. Octopath Traveller 2 Demo that carries over progress launching the same day. New "99" NSO game. TotK trailer that has major callbacks to previous Zelda games, like similar dungeons/homages and characters (Tingle?!).
I stay winning.

At this point, I'm willing to accept that it's on the 9th. I thought Wink-man had been bullshitting us all along, but evidently it's not a bit!

We live in a post-earnings release world.

15 days before OT II's launch we get a shadowdropped demo (Theatrhythm's demo launches on the 1st, the game's out on the 16th btw)
The 9th in the west is the 10th in Japan, as @Neves said, DQ III's anniversary, the remake resurfaces in the Direct.

(Yes, half of this post is me wanting to see DQ 3 HD-2D)

Yeah that's true but like... I'm suggesting a 5PM EST Direct on the Tuesday, that's the 8th in Japan. They could actually announce it at the meeting (They did this for the September 2020 Partner Showcase) but neither are really that likely, and we're probably just going to get it on the 8th, or not at all this month

I heard a rumor that Nintendo Switch has games.
giphy.webp

This rumor is such a joke and no one should even bother with it. First of all it’s on a Tuesday (no) and then the mods can’t prove it’s legit or false lmao.

Direct on the 7th is nothing more than bs. The same day as their earnings? No.
It's also a Tuesday and their general Directs - outside of E3 - are Wednesdays and Thursdays during the Switch era. For whatever reason, Nintendo prefer that time of week. I'd be surprised if they now changed it so that a Direct happened on the day of their earnings release.

I can confirm the existence of a direct. I can 100% objectively say that the concept of the Nintendo Direct does, indeed, exist.

Last direct was on Tuesday

I'm just guessing reddit mods probably get bull shit dm'd to them all the time. Clearly they saw enough to pass this along even with it's big caveat.
I feel like it's one of those things where the bullshit they usually get is easily detected and full of spelling, factual errors etc, so anything that can pass an initial glance is taken seriously because it compares better

Well, it seems Halo is dead (for a long while) (to me). I need Nintendo to come through for me.

It would certainly make for a more interesting February Direct if Nintendo want to announce most of their remaining line up for 2023.

If anything, that would make me worried about the third party participation in the direct.
Cant see Nintendo posting the majority of their 2023 lineup just yet.

A few days ago I was pretty adamant that no Metroid would be seen in the February Direct, and that would be saved for E3.

But now E3 isn't happening for Nintendo, I have no idea what to believe.

Will they have another Mini Partner Showcase in June instead of a proper general Direct?

Will we even see Metroid Prime at all this year?

Does Metroid Prime even exist?

Do I even exist?

Without TGA I see no reason to a Nintendo Direct on Tuesday, unless it's a mini. I hope be wrong, because I want a direct asap.

January 2023 was so good that January 2023 2 starts tomorrow. Januarians keep winning

I mean, Directs now feature 20 plus games even without highlight reels. With highlight reels, it's probably 30 plus individual games. The bulk of what's shown is going to come from third-parties. Even if Nintendo chose to show most of their line up for this year, there's stuff they could easily skip and save for standalone trailers - DLC, Pokemon news, and eShop titles could all be skipped for now, for example.

We also can't really discount Nintendo still wanting or needing a summer Direct this year, even with the rumours around E3. They're going to do what suits their own agenda.
