Well, congratulations folks, you absolutely nailed it.

Okay this would be hilarious after the past few days we've had in this threadWhy mix gold with green and white. If that’s the “revision” that was cancelled then I’m more than happy.
Obviously insiders aren't the be all end all and they tend not to know Nintendo's plans this far out, but we've got two industry people saying the Switch has a "quiet" (AKA nothing Zelda tier) 2nd half of 2023 post Zelda.
So, assuming what they're saying is true...No new HW until early 2024. But maybe they pull a JP DSi launch and launch it with...well, nothing. But we saw how that worked with the 3DS and Wii U. So who knows. I'm sticking to the ol' reliable NVN2/linux info currently.
edit: Is Nintendo really gonna let the Switch go out on a whimper (by which I mean a year like 2020, yes I know TOTK will be massive)? Finish the year with Pokemon and MK DLC with some other titles? At this point, I'm way more interested in what Nintendo's line up and plans are for the next two years. All this information is so fascinating.
I think that guy is already toast honestly. It was explained earlier that the leakers did a poor job to hide their identity. Hence why there are no links.

There's no reason to believe TotK is radically more demanding than BotW, especially now that it's free from maintaining compatibility with a completely different system architecture. It'll run fine. This is Nintendo EPD we're talking about. If those images above are true (looks like it)....That's truly disappointing. Totk gonna lag like crazy smh. Not sure what Nintendo is thinking

When do special edition models usually get announced?
It would certainly make sense, but I’m still hoping for a Holiday 2023 release. If not Switch still needs a Holiday game since Pokemon will likely just be doing DLC. I don’t think it’d be MP4, I’m like 60% sure that will be a Switch 2 title. I can’t see it being a new 3D platformer from the Mario team either,Thinking about everything that transpired these past few days, I have to say I now think this idea that Nintendo will have a "quiet" 2023 in preparation for a big 2024 with new hardware makes sense. Like, all the pieces are falling into place. A year focused on DLCs and a huge game meant as the send off for the generation in a way, with a huge install base to make all the money. A very profit oriented year basically.
Like seriously think of all the DLCs coming out in 2023
That's one hell of a busy year but with less resources necessary. Add to that one or two decently sizable game for the holiday and you have your year.
- Pokémon (presumably)
- Tears of the Kingdom (presumably)
- Splatoon
- Xenoblade
- Fire Emblem
- Mario Kart
It does go against this idea (or hope really) of a smooth transition that would have been different, since when you put it like that it sounds like a very traditional way of sunsetting a generation and starting another, but sometimes the most simple explanation works. As I said, the pieces are falling into places in my mind and it sounds right.
If there is no Switch 2 with Zelda and Switch 2 comes in 2024, are there any positives which come out of that situation for you?
- I held off on buying recent RE games thinking they’d quickly be ported to Drake. I might buy them on my PS4 Pro now.
- I held off on Bayonetta 3 thinking we’d get a much improved version on Drake next year. I’ll buy and finish this before Zelda comes out now.
- I can justify buying a PS5 late next year (new model?). Two consoles would have been a bit much for me and my current circumstances.
- There’s a big event I may potentially be going to in early June. The cost of going to that along with buying Switch 2 would have been like £1500 all within the same period.

In both of those cases, there is no conceivable way Nintendo/ Nvidia didn't know the exact power/ performance ratio figures down to the 0,1 watt before the project was greenlit. Those nodes were very well known quantities. Is this all happening because of shitty nodes that Nvidia happened to pick? Apparently a boosted Mariko was shelved due to meager improvements in performance sometime in 2018 most likely? Then it potentially could be that basing Orin on Samsung 8nm led to Nintendo being unhappy with battery life in 2021 or so? Meanwhile, NVN2 and the linux updates point to a substantially more powerful chip, so maybe they waited for Samsung to improve their low 5nm yields. And I guess we might've read too much into the numbers? I believe I noted that following the 15.0.0 FW update weirdness and comparing previous FW update timelines would place us at a March 2024 release...Hope not.
Why did Nvidia go with 8nm for Ampere? Does everything go back to that decision?
Not just yet. Announcement reveal is still possible for 2023. Heck, announcement alone is possible anytime they're ready to talk about it. As for release schedule, that's usually relative to announcement.thank god we can out those foolish first half of 2023 speculation to rest
tbh even a limited edition OLED would still sell even with new hardware, but I don't know if Nintendo has ever done that which is why I kinda doubt this possibility. Not just yet. Presence of different OLED SKU doesn't invalidate existence of a Drake one, although the latter is likely very tightly guarded.
Bundled SKUs could be priced higher than base OLED model, which would help given the inflation prices.tbh even a limited edition OLED would still sell even with new hardware, but I don't know if Nintendo has ever done that which is why I kinda doubt this possibility.
As a matter of fact, yes, Wii U got a Deluxe Version with 32GB internal storage, and it came in Black and bundled with NintendoLand.Honestly people are saying this doesn’t rule out switch 2 with Zelda but how does it not? Did the wii U get a special edition? I don’t think it did. It wouldn’t really make sense to release a special edition of both old and new hardware. Especially when most people are inclined to buy the new one.
Atp holiday 2023 feels optimistic to me but no way is it coming it H1 2023
That’s interesting since I genuinely can not find anything on it the only special edition Zelda one I found was one for windwaker.Bundled SKUs could be priced higher than base OLED model, which would help given the inflation prices.
Thus a limited Edition OLED could be sold concurrently with newer hardware that might be priced higher.

Maybe it never made it to the UK though or something.

Personally I would think there's no incentive to make a special edition of a console that only sold 14 million at its EoL compared to one that sold 100+ million that's gonna end up in a cross-gen period.Honestly people are saying this doesn’t rule out switch 2 with Zelda but how does it not? Is this the same guy who just leaked the Zelda switch? Or are there more than one uncle?the Uncle is probably still on Christmas break and has some New Years parties to attend. but after that when he's back in the factory it's game on, those new backplates aren't gonna fill themselves
