MAPLE TREEWAY MY BELOVED

This is a pretty good line-up, though I don't know much bout the two Tour city courses.

That's interesting to have a trailer when it's still two weeks away, but it's nice to have a date anyway.

This is looking like the best looking wave yet, they're obviously putting in the time to polish the tracks better. Maple Treeway and Merry Merry Mountain in particular look very good. Rainbow Road looks a bit cheap tbh, hope my impression will change after playing.

Overall, looks like another exciting wave! We're on the halfway mark now.

Omg Maple Treeway looks beautiful, all the new courses look really good, 3DS and peach gardens look great in 8’s style.

Looks absolutely fantastic, can’t wait! So hyped Maple Treeway came in sooner than later and we have a whole new era of speculation ahead.

Big fan of the way the narrator said "Boo Lake"
Not a big fan of 3DS Rainbow Road getting in over Wii Rainbow Road.
The speculation game has changed with Maple Treeway in early, but for now at least there are no signs the prefix count has changed. Rainbow Road Wii remains a strong contender for getting in likely as the final track of Wave 6.

If Wave 4 or 5 get another N64 or 3DS course, then we should be worried.

This is the best dlc wave yet, every track looks amazing especially 3ds rainbow road (the best rainbow road).
We're finally getting some fan favourite.

Holy shit, Boo Lake looks fantastic.

Awesome wave! Sucks we have to wait so long, but I’m just happy to see the tracks finally.

Remaining prefix count with leaked tracks:

SNES 1
N64 0
GBA 2 (Sunset Wilds)
GCN 4 (Waluigi Stadium)
DS 1
Wii 3 (DK Summit, Koopa Cape)
3DS 0
Tour 8 (Amsterdam, Singapore, LA, Bangkok, Vancouver)
??? 5

Two other loose end tracks: Mario Circuit SNES (banner leak) and Rainbow Road GBA (leaker leak)

If any of the prefix numbers are exceeded in waves 4 or 5 all bets are off.

Gonna have to see how the Tour tracks work before I can judge them, but from a pure visual standpoint these courses look great. I haven't played a lot of MK7 but 3DS Rainbow Road is looking incredible. For my nostalgia hype though, the biggest ones are Maple Treeway and Boo Lake. Maple Treeway in particular looks so cozy.

This looks good. Glad they did something a bit more imaginative with Boo Lake.

Also chalk me up as another fan of 3DS Rainbow Road.

It's a shame there's only one DS track left. If we got both Delfino Square and Airship Fortress, the game would have all my favorite DS courses.

The coolest thing about 3DS Rainbow Road was how the music shifted as you went, kind of like Mt. Wario. When you’re on the surface of the planet, you get a really remote sounding track that sounds super spacey. I really hope they don’t skip that detail.

We already know it's still there from the prefetch file leak

they should make a Mario Kart track called “stranger’s living room” and mark it as a track from Mario Kart Live Home Circuit

Well, there it is. Feels good to have some time to actually make the graphics. I'll try to have the OP updated by the end of the week.

Man, that Maple Treeway remix is delightful. Love me some good brass, especially the sax. Cannot wait to hear the full version.

I never was super hyped for 3DS Rainbow Road - it's a solid track but not one I was ever super excited about - but it's a great pick for the halfway point of the pass, and then we can have Wii Rainbow Road end it.

3DS Rainbow Road and Rock Rock Mountain are very welcome additions. Looks like a good selection this time, even if I'm not as hot on Maple Treeway as some. Also graphically they look a lot more polished.

Edit: Also the Boo Lake Reimagining looks great

Great additions.

Hopefully next time they put Waluigi Stadium (crossing fingers).

Wii Rainbow Road will surely end this DLC pack.

Ultimate twist, Nintendo has been archiving and building 3D maps of every Home Circuit owners house and the track will randomly select users homes like the AC track

Glad that they went in a different direction with the art of 3DS rainbow road compared to tour. The track looked really bad on there IMO.
And that remix! Glas NoE uploaded a trailer without the narrator so we can hear the track.

The more I look at it, the more confused I am as to what Berlin Byways's route is going to be. You pass under the Brandenburg Gate in both directions and follow both Byways 1 and Byways 2 in their proper directions, which is pretty much impossible to do without some really weird routing. Almost makes me wonder if they converted it into a 1-lap track, because I dunno how else they'd be able to pull it off.

3DS Rainbow Road exceeded my expectations, it looks phenomenal.

I'm just glad every wave has looked better regarding the track conversions to MK8D.

One thing I noticed at around 0:35 in the trailer, was the Sneeker always able to be a different color? Or was it because She Guy was the driver?

I'm actually a little bummed that Double Dash Rainbow Road still gets no love despite having the best music of all the RRs, but at this rate they could do an alternate cup that's just all four Rainbow Roads from SNES, N64, 3DS and 8D.

I just hope Gamecube gets any love in these latter waves coming out.

Hey, gotta save something good for the next Mario Kart.

And there it is!

It will begin with 2, then go into a variant of 3 which begins and ends by going through the gate in both directions, then finish with 1.
that's the only way I can work it out anyway.

Thank goodness they prettied up the treetops in Maple Treeway coming from Tour. They looked horrible compared to Wii/7 especially when you get a view of the whole forest.
And there it is!

That’s super cool that you all got to know!

Didn’t wave 2 also update the courses in wave 1 a bit? I wonder if each new wave will bring some slight updates to the earlier waves since each wave is clearly getting better looking than the last.

Most I’d expect is bug fixes, particularly for Waluigi Pinball SFX and Sky-High Sundae.

Yeah, there's no major glaring flaws like the coconut mall cars being stationary to fix in wave 2, so it'll be smaller things for sure.

Wow, this wave looks amazing, both selection and quality wise! Wave 1 looked good but had some issues, wave 2 looked great, but this is definitely the best yet! I'm so glad they took the time and effort to elevate these courses. Boo Lake already looked great in Tour, but it looks absolutely stunning here. Maple Treeway looked... not great in Tour, and it looks so much better here. Makes me feel bad for Coconut Mall; it really got the short end of the stick being in wave 1.

Not sure if anyone else has already pointed it out, but in the trailer both Rainbow Road and Boo Lake have anti-grav sections, in addition to Merry Mountain.

If I had a nickel for everytime a major Nintendo announcement happened when I had a dentist appointment, I would have 4 nickels, which isn't a lot, but the fact it keeps happening is bonkers

The RR GBA leaker said it was a hint at Snow Land... which sounds dubious but means that they aren't claiming RRGBA is in the game.
And for Mario Circuit RMX SNES, well.. most of the screens for other courses were for reverse or trick variants which also don't feature, so I think that one can be safely ignored.

Yeah I think this definitely validates RatgorlHunter as a leaker. Not only were they correct about Waluigi Stadium being swapped for Maple Treeway, but they also got the shuffling of the courses around, AND they said that Wave 3 would be released around the Game Awards. 3/3.

About Airship Fortress they've said:
I think it's in Fruit Cup iirc.

About Wii Rainbow Road they've said:
I'm being serious (about it being the final track).

About GBA Rainbow Road they've said:
No, there's enough Rainbow Roads to come.

And for wave 2, they say that they were never predicting GBA RR, the hint was always for Snow Land, it was just a confusing hint.

Anyway, Nintendo can still change anything at any time, but this person definitely knows some stuff.

Don't let the people hankering for the switch pro/2 know or they'll start forcing you to the dentist by any means necessary.
