goo tuber is my second most used weapon after squiffer by turf and I still haven't ever gotten it to fresh

it's definitely my worst charger
That's cuz you're not supposed to play it like a charger, spam tap shots to be a paint/missile bot :)

The partial charge kills / torpedo combos are actually nice though

It's a weird one to play with for sure. The kit is really exciting if you ask me, but the weapon itself I can imagine takes a lot of time to get used to.

Also, you excited for the new charger?
yes

I have a foil sticker of all seven chargers so december is going to be exclusively snipewriter for me to catch up

also I hate to admit it but missiles are very useful for a charger because it turns people's brains off

they run from the missiles right into my sights

I'll say Salmon Smokeyard is a top 2 worst Salmon Run map to play with randoms and it's important to me that opinion is represented here as well.

And Marooner's Bay is iconic and good to have back.

Wow, my left stick shit itself already. I've had this controller for less than 6 months. Good thing I have the Splatoon 3 one as backup.

Has anyone seen, read about or encountered a bug where your Grizzco gear gets changed/reseted/swapped?

I already had the 3 Grizzco headgears with the stars and abilities I wanted. And today while I was was exchanging capsules, I realized in the comparison screen that the Brain Strainer I owned was back to 1 sub and a different main. I thought that I mistakenly swapped it in a previous shift, but then it was the same for the cap and the visor (different main, back to 1 sub). I know I did not swap the 3 pieces by accident cause I always pay attention to the rewards I get and compare them, and 99.99% of the time I just use the A button, so the chances of exchanging them all 3 of them is almost null.
Anyone? I'm curious.

Official Pro Controller? The stick doesn't work anymore or does it drfit?
I switch to a Hori pad when I want to try some tricks and I don't mind abusing the sticks a bit. I ordered the 8BitDo Ultimate controller with hall effect joysticks. I really hope it's as good as people say and the motion doesn't have too much lag compared to the official pad.

Not you, Sheldon. Not you 😞
I think Marooner's Bay is an OK map and I don't have issues with it. Plus swarm waves are easy there.

Official Pro Controller. The stick works but it has that thing where sometimes it takes 2 seconds to fully press in a direction (forward in this case), it's gotten me killed by bombs multiple times already. Might get it fixed at some point instead of discarding it honestly bc it'd be such a waste

I've also been looking into the 8BitDo Ultimate, I might get it if it's good and my backup controller breaks too

Tip for SR on gone-fission: for glowflies, gather at the bottom left instead of the grate bridge on top. There's only 1 entrance and its way easier to get eggs in the basket
Not to mention that you can just jump back and forth across the trench to stall the horde if you need to

I am so looking forward to the "WTF is that" takes from the family next week when I inflict Splatoon 3 and Salmon Run on them :D

There's a whole discussion about Pokemon Scarlet and Violet having no gender locked clothing, but then having no feminine options (skirts etc.) but I gotta say, I think Splatoon is guilty of it too.

There's a few feminine options (like the one skirt legwear and a few amiibo gear pieces), but overall almost all clothing is really just masculine presented as unisex. We need more cute and feminine gear options!

In general I'd like to see more different clothing. There's too many simple sneakers and shirts. I want weird and unique stuff, like the salmon run rewards. During the brand tweets there was a pic of an inkling wearing one shoe and nothing on the other foot. Hope we see that one soon

Also, I think triple ink strike should allow you to go squid form. It's currently one of the weakest specials or at least one of the most difficult to utilize properly ones. It'd be a nice buff

I'm really hoping the new season adds a healthy amount of fall/winter appropriate attire.

I don't think they'd do it, but if they're committing to updates every 3 months it'd be really really cool if the stages changed with the seasons. That's a lot to ask of their design and art teams though.

Seriously, I noticed that the first time I played that map, but everytime a glowflies wave comes up I spend the time standing there spamming "This Way" while my teammates get themselves taken out on the bridge. Then they just stay there spamming "Help Me" while I'm fending off the horde in the corner.

The host disconnected at the very start of the wave, it took a bit for the game to choose another one, so enemies didn't appear during the first few seconds, when the player finally disappeared, the egg cuota got reduced as usual, but the basket already had 11 eggs :p

Anyway, weapons are good and besides the usual glowflies waves, it has been smooth sailing today. Very fun shift, despite stage, communication errors and software crashes.

Is there any reason why Splatoon 2/3 do not block the home button during a game, as with ARMS? I wonder if that would trap many disconnect issues...

If I'm correct then the kits are:
Slosher: Line Market - Wave Breaker
Aerospray: Sprinkler - Booyah Bomb

Edit: Slosher has Zipcaster instead! Should be interesting

That slosher kit is hilariously terrible. I love it

It sounds like they're making the catalog a literal catalog that you can flip through starting with this season, which is nice. It was odd in Season 1 that you couldn't see anything in it in-game other than the next 3 rewards.

Good that they’re correcting this oversight. It was weird that you could look through the whole thing using the NSO app but not in-game.

I'm really happy about the catalog change not because I wanted it, but because it suggests that they're open to further polish post-launch

...or, it's something they didn't get the chance to finish

Ill wait to see if Angle Shooter gets buffed first. Doesnt look appetizing to me otherwise.
Aerospray is decent kit.

What hopes for nerds/buffs do you all have?

I feel like a Dynamo buff is much needed, currently it's just outclassed by everything. Mediocre range, slow and inconsistent splats. It simply doesn't feel fun to play

Inkbrush Nouveau has Ultra Stamp

... and Ink Mine

I feel that Angle Shooter will need a upgrade. It's currently very difficult to use because aiming with it is very precise. For one, it should have a bigger hitbox and that the affected area nearer to you should be wider. Maybe the damage should also increase so that it's possible to 3-shot with perfect aiming (maybe 40 damage?), or they can also make the line do damage with decaying power overtime. It doesn't have to be all of the above, but something to give it a source of respect. Even Point Sensor is easy to use despite the lack of damage, because its explosion can expose foes more easily.

With that said, the Slosher Deco looks to be a more technical weapon even though it has a good combo potential (70 dmg main + 30 dmg sub), and the Zipcaster can work for getting good angles since the Slosher is advantageous for hitting from different heights.

Thank you for reading.

Ink mine is genuinely a good sub for inkbrush wtf are people on, it worked great in Splat 2 and inkbrush nouveau was even high in the meta at one point despite baller being a low tier special at the time

Yesterday I attempted Anarchy mode for the first time in months (I've been playing only Turf War and Salmon Run). So I went into a rank-up series (Splatzones) and I was doing great, but was losing every match, by a lot, KOs and everything. Every time I would kill 3 guys on the other team, then get splatted by the remaining one and my team, being 4 VS1 never managed to capture the zone. This happened multiple times in 3 separate matches. When I looked at my teammate's stats on the third match (I usually just browse the web on my phone between matches), they were:
  • Me: 14 splats
  • Teammate #1: 2 splats
  • Teammate #2: 1 splats
  • Teammate #3: 1 splats
The other team had 20, 15, 12, 6. I started looking at the previous matches and they were all like this. Teammate #3 was replaced by someone else who did much better, but #2 and #3 stuck with me for these 3 matches and they never managed to get anything above 3 splats.
I stuck with the team because in Splatoon 1 and 2 I was usually able to carry any team through the low ranks (this is C+) but this was impossible!!

Funny, cause I always get wrecked by Dynamo users :p

Hopes for buffs: Angle Shooter, Ink Vac, Maybe Killer Wail and Tripe Inkstrike. Also, Sub Resistance Up (include special damage).

Hopes for nerfs: Tenta Misssiles, Ninja Squid 😠

Don't touch the Crab Tank, plz 🙏

Every single non/low damage sub needs buffs, and all specials with HP need it lowered slightly. There is a massive power gap between bombs and utility sub weapons (partially due to HP specials), which needs to be closed

It's hilarious to me how badly I do in Splatoon during working days vs the weekend. If I ever get the chance to sleep +4 hours consecutively and in a constant manner, it's all over for you, squitches!

What's your opinion on curling? I used to kinda dislike it, but I've been using it lately and it's growing on me.

Besides the obvious mobility, with some planning you can use it greatly to scare people off or get the drop on them. Only problem is that you need to plan ahead, as it takes a bit to charge it the right amount

Dapple Dualie Kit; I think the Dapple Dualie kit is good for an offensive set. Reefslider with rolls is actually pretty nice. Very good kit decision from devs imo.

Ink Brush; I like mines alot unfortunately, they arn't really on weapons I play nor would I want them to be. I would fool around with this kit if Ultra Stamp got some nice buffs.

Slosher Kit; The more I think about it, the more I don't like the new Slosher kit if Angle Shooter doesn’t recieves any buffs. The kit feels too linear oriented which contradicts aspects of the slosher. And as a person that still uses Sub Resistance Up, the kit has no combo abilities with Angle Shooter from my perspective. Give the Slosher kit Burst Bomb or buff Angle Shooter and the kit could be wildly fun.

What I would like to see from Angle shooter is:

Damage increased to 40; I don't think this would change any weapons TTK that currently has the sub except Jet Squelcher which needs the buff. The damage increase fights against SRU and enemy healing to allow for more consistent kills.

Increase Hit Box. Its hard to explain the increase I would give it since I can't think of an appropriate measurement in the game to use. It just needs to be bigger than what it currently is but definitely smaller than a Burst Bombs 35 damage splash radius.

Trail of Angle Shooter should do 15-20 damage. This would help with team kills. The 2 seconds the trail is out isn't long, doesn't paint, and more times than not the player won't get a direct even with a buffed hit box. With the above changes, this helps Angle Shooter further differentiate itself from Point Sensor and establish itself as a weaker mixture of a Burst Bomb +Point Sensor sub.

I think Curling is solid on weapons like Roller/Sploosh, neutral on Reeflux's current kit, and downright awful for L3. For me its a sub whose usefulness depedent on the main weapon. It still could use some minor buffs though.

It HEAVILY depends on the main weapon. Splat Roller cannot function without it, but it'd be deadweight on most shooters. I think it could use some buffs to the whole cooking/charging thing so weapons with higher mobility can take advantage of it as a bomb too.

Went 2-3 in my first Splat Zones tonight scrubbing it up in C- rank. Total chaos but I enjoyed a more focused Turf War esque mode.

And 1-2 in Salmon Run but it was enough to claim the 3rd "I can't believe it's not BTTF" gear, so I'm good with that.

Kinda weird coming back to the game after a break for Bayonetta 2 and feeling like I've internalized more of the game somehow and doing better performance wise (which isn't exactly a high bar to clear). Somehow.

Also, can anyone recommend some good clothing combinations to go with the Octobowler Shirt? I'm happy with how my basketball themed outfit turned out, and I saw I picked this shirt up at one point and I want to build an outfit around it but most of the shoes I have are sandals and sneakers 😐

Whoever decided it's okay for 3+ Big Shots to spawn needs to be banned from game design. Like I can blow both of my Ink Jets on them and it's not enough to kill them all, it's fucking absurd. Their hit points need to be cut in half, at least.

thoughts? I'd say Tower Control gets pretty bad too on a lot of maps, but overall I agree that with the current maps and meta zones is absolutely terrible

I agree. Well, at least I can say for sure that I have the least fun playing that mode. Matches are often a game of 1 team takes the zone and defends it, while the other team tries to retake it, if they succeed the roles reverse. Most of the time in my experience these games are also the most one-sided, 1 team is clearly the strongest and will most likely prevail, as it is too easy to completely lock out the other team.

Besides the map design being the culprit of this problem, I'd also say the actual Splat Zone placement itself is kind of imaginationless and boring. There often is only 1 zone and it's placed right in the middle of the map. An experience like Splatoon 1 Port Mackerel Splat Zones you cannot find in this game:

Map_Port_Mackerel_Splat_Zones_Overhead.jpg

Current Splat Zones is missing the back and forth dynamic they used to have. That's the best idea I can come up with as to why it's not much fun anymore.

Btw it will be interesting to see if they keep up the trend of boring Zone placement with Flounder Heights; it used to have a unique and original placement. If they don't change it I can see it being one of the best zones maps.
