Seems like there's still some foul play going on despite save data being server side now.

(No, there is no way to get that legit.)

My Splatfest experience over Saturday and Sunday was night and day. First half I spent getting my teeth kicked in and having to scratch and claw for every win in Pro. Today I wanted to play Tricolor so necessarily ended up in Open and going 14W-2L. Wished I'd gotten the 10x battles in the second half instead of all yesterday and I might have done better for my team than going fifty-fifty.

Bit late but a tip for anyone struggling is go into pro instead of open. I was getting trashed in open but I've gone to pro and won like 6 in a row and just had a 17 kill game. Think pro means you can't team with friends or use vc so it's much better if you're a solo player anyway.

Funny how different things are from person to person. This matchmaking remains a mystery.

Does everyone just jump right into multiplayer? I am going through single player campaign, learning the basics( on the second island). Should I jump into multiplayer or finish the campaign?
If this is your first splatoon game it's a good idea to play the single player campaign first so you get a good feel of the weapons but jumping right int multiplayer is also fine.

Still you should beat the story mode as it's easily the best one yet.

Most of us are already used to Splatoon, but this is your first time so I recommend finishing the solo first, it continues to teach you useful stuff until the very end and you can experiment freely. Unless you're getting bored with it of course.

Splatfest battles don't seem to count towards the Turf War badge. Bummer. I'm gonna have to play the mode outside the communally mandated times.

i think they do? i got the first judd badge after a splatfest battle

Oh? You're right. Weeee! It's just 50 wins instead of 30 like I thought. Well more than halfway there, then. And I'll get the gold organically simply by taking part in the next, oh, let's see, 40 Splatfests...

I’ve got 50 hours of playtime and I haven’t touched the single player mode yet. Though I do have experience from playing the first Splatoon.

Just saw this, absolutely insane display of skill sheesh.

Stand on ledges, they said. Splatanas can't hurt you if you're above them, they said...

Yeah, well, those people thought they were safe because they had the high ground and now they rest six feet deep.

It's a 1 time thing like every 1-2 months, it's fine?
But it's the exact same as getting banned for no reason. If it was laid out as a 3 min ban to random players instead would that be fine too? Actually a ban is better since you can still do something else in the game.

I think it's supposed to be "you lip-synch, we drip ink"

as a friend of mine said, "I fucking hate that. I don't get it. we all drip ink."

Booooo I also hate that, also their in unison sign off at the end just being “catch ya later” could also be it and like the pun is there with catch but that’s boring

I always chuckle when, I, with my ADHD addled brain, can happily sit through a quick "hey here's who won" Splatcast, without complaint.

Team Gear having 58% of the votes is an astoundingly bad number, but it's not surprising at all considering it was the objectively correct choice. Future Splatfests need to be much more opinion-based that this one, or at the very least they need to make an attempt to justify the other options. Big Man's reasoning for picking Fun (and Scissors last time) was literally just him being an dumbass. A very lovable dumbass, but a dumbass nonetheless.

It's the type of thing that doesn't sound that bad on paper, but it definitely seems to be one of the driving causes for how bad the matchmaking was in this Splatfest. No wonder Tricolor Turf War barely showed up, there was hardly anyone on Team Fun to defend in the first place, and the assignment to Tricolor for the winning team is completely random to boot.

that was certainly an experience, nice to be winning again. i hope that the next splatfest gets put on hold for awhile so that the options are more equal then essentially, the only right answer, the different answer, the meme answer. eh whatever i enjoyed myself.

Yeah, more though defintly needs to be put into this now wiht 3 teams, and the defintion of what we are deciding aslo need sto be ocnsie as there was some confusion this time, but clearly the answer so far joke answers don't work if theres a correct asnwer. it needs to all be soelly opion based (and also if it wasnt they could give the smart answer to frye, evne if it breaks her character base don her poplaurity she will never win like this), sorry if there are many typos its getting late for me

edit: to add onto this, the trio choosing thier teams based on thier personality does not work, at all, big man picks the dumb option cuase hes dumb, shiver picks the smart option cuase shes smart and frye picks the leftover becuase shes medium doenst work cause shiver will sweep popularity wise forever.

Team Fun knew the real fun to be had was on Pro battles. That’s why we concentrated our efforts there and crushed all of the competition. Our fun YOLO mindset also explains why we won the most shells in the beginning. While Team Gear was carefully prepping for this event and conserving their strength, we just wanted to have fun all the way up to it and played the game the most leading up to the event. Also y’all in Team Gear wanted to win so bad, you threw the first half of the event and then had no Tricolor fun for yourselves.

If you look at it on these fronts, I think we can say Team Fun really won this Splatfest. Team Fun had fun, mission accomplished :)

Now I'm really wondering how my short-term memory failed me so much

In the end I gave you an (un)skippable PillFencer™️ headache-inducing read instead, sorry 🤒
I mean honestly it was longer than I was expecting

actually reading it would easily take the three minutes

Alternate analysis, Team Fun despite being outnumbered 3 to 1 was winning at half time and got screwed over again by tricolor. Big Man was robbed again!

Yeah next Splatfest needs to be "I like ___ more" over "what is the right choice". They've got some good options for a potential Halloween one, could do Zombies v. Vampires v. Werewolves or something (although the latter might result in the dreaded NSFW Furries coming back)

It is funny, I prefer werewolves out of these, but I’d probably go with vampires just to not be associated with NSFW furry art that will ensue.

Imagine complaining about a forced once-a-month Splatcast when we had to sit through Off the Hook every single time we booted Splatoon 2 for five years

It's a minute of your life...

Probably because it's just three minutes of your life. It certainly doesn't make it worth complaining about over several comments.

There have got to be better things to let upset you.
Wouldn't make it acceptable anyway as I explained, and several comments isn't relevant since except for the first one it's all just replies (but Raccoon showed me I was wrong, I take the L on that)

Continuing to reply and double down is exactly what I'm talking about though, like it's something worth complaining about one to zero times at most

But I just read your response to Raccoon, I don't got nothin' more to say so I'll just say, as a team grub member, this Splatfest hurt lol

What is happening I'm actually doing good with the Tri-Stringer?? It's so cool to control areas with this weapon and one shot effects are super satisfying

Do Deep Cut have a “Stay Fresh” or “ Don’t get cooked stay off the hook” equivalent? Idk if I’ve noticed one
Idk it in English, but in Dutch their closing saying is:'De mossel', which means :' the mussel', but it is a clever word play on a way to say 'bye' or ' peace out' in an informal way -> 'De mazzel'. Not many people use that word daily tho

Edit: Apperently it is 'Catch you later' in English, which is a similarly clever pun, although maybe 'Catch you later' is used too much normally that it doesnt feel like it.
