I personally would rather have a full blown remaster of Metroid Prime than the Zelda remasters(Which i already beat both on Wii U) , if the next direct is truly a thing if Metroid Prime and GBA NSO is announced then i will be content until next year

There won't be many third party games on GBA NSO though, everybody's been compiling their GBA games into their own packages: Castlevania, Megaman Zero, Megaman BN...

But still, if we get gems like FF Tactics Advance, Tactics Ogre Knights of Lodis, Lunar and Boktai games, I won't complain at all.
The game in my library least likely to ever come forward to modern platforms will be GBA NSO’s third party crown jewel: Lemony Snicket’s A Series of Unfortunate Events.

I mean, Advance Wars, F-Zero GX, Metroid Prime, Wind Waker and Twilight Princess are all Gamecube games.

Or are we getting even more?

I'm not aware of GCN NSO plans. Doesn't mean they don't exist. Just not something that I have heard, personally.
I do wonder if most of the remaster/remake plans Nintendo has are mostly GameCube games or if they're also still looking towards other platforms. Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door would be my guess as a prime candidate (pun intended) to be one.

Star Fox Adventures too Nintendo, please.

That's great.
The first Nintendo console I ever got was the Wii.
(And I've been a Nintendo fanboy ever since.)
There are many legacies I have yet to play.

Many have GCN origins. Not all. But most.

How many of these would you personally consider to be remakes ?

Nintendo: So, you like games, eh? Well, how about ALL THE GAMES IN THE WORLD**

The average remaster seems like a simple enough endeavor for a small team to push out in 6-12 months, so why not?

Gamers haven proven time and again that they will pay top dollar for their favourite games with increased resolution/framerate.

I've been saying that Nintendo wouldn't be putting GCN on NSO anytime soon because they want to sell HD remasters and remakes. They know that those who grew up on the on Gamecube are now old, have jobs, and are desperate to cling to happier days as a child. So now that's the time milk all those sad, pathetic people for what they are worth.

Wind Waker and Metroid Prime HD baby! It's middle school all over again! Wooo!

I cannot wait to dance as Luigi with motion controls in Dance Dance Revolution Mario Mix HD fearing songs from the Mario Movie starring Chris Pratt

Yeah, i've been looking forward to Odama Remake for awhile, glad to see the confirmation.

Hello Nate and Emily. Very cool to have you here with us. My name is Switchum and I’m, uh, kind of a legend around these parts. I’m such a legend that some here call me Zelda. Lol. I keep telling them to stop but they just won’t quit. What brings you to our cozy lil’ neck of the woods?

I'm still worried that we are getting GameCube NSO and Wind Waker, Twilight Princess and Metroid Prime will be the old GameCube versions and not the nice widescreen HD remasters we're all expecting...
I’m rooting for GameCube NSO tbh

I've definitely come around on deluges of old shit. They're for new fans and take up a lot less resources than new projects
If it means I have a single unified ongoing Nintendo library for the future, I'm OK with it. Had to part with a lot of my collection over the years.

The Wii and especially the Gamecube libraries I guess always made sense as the best consoles to draw remaster fuel from. There's the handheld libraries but those may be more resource intensive and veer closer to remakes? Like something like what happened with Miitopia.

Gamecube you have like WW, TP, Prime 1 + 2, Pikmin 1 + 2, DK Jungle Beat, Luigi's Mansion, Kirby Air Ride, Wario World, Star Fox Adventures + Assault, Paper Mario TTYD, Fire Emblem Path of Radiance, F-Zero GX, Chibi Robo, and so on.

Wii you could have Prime 3, Mario Galaxy 2, DKC Returns, Punch-Out, Wario Land Shake It, Fire Emblem Radiant Dawn, and Kirby's Epic Yarn.

Well having GX added to the mix pretty much clinches it for me that GCN will never be added to NSO. At this point so much of the library will be available at retail.

And you wanna talk about GBA lacking third party support because pubs are rereleasing those themselves (which is true), I feel like the situation would be even more dire for GCN.

I’m curious where everyone thinks that leaves certain Nintendo titles though. Like Mario Strikers 1, Mario Baseball, Double Dash, Mario Tennis, etc. Before, we’d all say they would’ve fit in perfectly on NSO. Can’t see those getting individual remaster treatment though, so I’m not sure where they fit now.

(Luigi’s Mansion 1 I’m suspect on too since it “just” got remade on 3DS but only a little suspect. I could definitely see another remaster for that.)

Are Nintendo planning a lot of remakes/remasters to pad out the Switch library until they reveal their hardware plans?
That would be my speculation

2023 will be the remaining big switch games (botw2, next fire emblem, prime 4), a collection of remasters (all this rumored stuff), and ongoing dlc/live service content (mk8d booster pass, xc3 expansion, splatoon 3) while their other teams work on getting big games ready for the Switch's successor that will launch in late 2023 or 2024.

They too want to see us reach our post goal before the direct

Would be kinda crazy if Wind Waker HD and Twilight Princess HD were NEW HD Remasters and NOT straight ports of the Wii U versions.

(Yeah no, that's not happening.)

Emily, what about this one? You heard anything about this making a comeback, or is it already in dev? Thank youu! :D Also, of course understandable if you can't say anything :)

I'm still hoping Star Fox Assault is the game that Bamco is remastering/remaking. Smooth out the control issues, add online multiplayer, maybe some new content. Would be a dream come true!

It's certainly the case that Nintendo have a huge back catalogue and some catching up to do with HD releases given they took their time going HD, and given Wii U was so unsuccessful. I remember you saying on Era a couple of years ago that Nintendo were looking to get as much of their back catalogue into high definition as possible. I guess we're going to see some more of those efforts in the near future.

Didn't they invest in a remastering firm last year, or some sort of partnership was announced? Anyone remember what that was?
