New Donkey Kong Country
I'll take it;New Donkey Kong Country
It’s all part of the cycle. Not sure why some are worried about too many ports. At the February direct they introduced plenty of new games, and the same will be the case for this month's direct.
Yeah I agree. GBA is really what I want.It has to have GBA for me. It can’t just be GB and GBC.
I think it's almost guaranteed- reminder, after Splatoon no first-party titles are datedTo be fair, some Directs are re-release heavy because some parts of the release calendar end up port heavy (first half 2021, first half 2018 for example). So far this year every first party release on Switch is brand new, and there are several new exclusives already lined up for the next few months, so sure as the tides, it's time for some re-releases.
Hopefully we see one or two brand new titles for 2023.
IMO, just GB/C would be more insignificant than GenesisYeah I agree. GBA is really what I want.
I could see them putting GB/C on the regular NSO and reserving GBA for the Expansion Pack.
Give me the cure for my carpal tunnel so I can play them allPrime HD, WW/TP HD, BOTW 2 meaty trailer with title reveal, and one surprise and I'm going to be foaming at the mouth. Throw in GB/GBA on NSO and I have a whole new set of games to play for the first time (minus the Pokemon and some Mario games on those systems). Anything more than a FE-sized reveal for new games, like Mario, Pikmin, F-Zero, DK, and this will be a truly excellent direct for me. I understand how some would be let down by a heavy focus on remasters though.
I feel like at this point it's gotta be worth it for most people. N64, Mario Kart 8 DLC, Octo Expansion, Animal Crossing DLCi would finally pull the trigger on getting the NSO expansion if it has GBA games on it
Brand new titles for 2023 is guaranteed. I’d imagine the Fire Emblem game will be one.To be fair, some Directs are re-release heavy because some parts of the release calendar end up port heavy (first half 2021, first half 2018 for example). I don't think they'll do another higher tier, not for the GB line anyway. If they were to do some sort of GameCube NSO thing, sure, that would probably be another paid upgrade but the 50 dollars per year for now seems to be the ceiling imoI almost wonder if they'll introduce another paid upgrade
Currently me, who doesn't have a Wii U:So I've been playing Metroid Prime for the first time properly through MPT on Wii U Virtual Console(did like the first 15 minutes when I got my GC copy last year)
And holy crap this game is fun
We're trying to hit 642 pages before the Direct, which is likely around two weeks awayDid I miss anything since midnight last night? So many pages lol, not sure if there’s a nugget or two in there. I know it’s right before TGS per Grubb
That'd be an easy 9/10 Direct for me. Possibly even a 9.5 or 10/10 on my personal scale if Prime HD is gorgeous, BOTW 2 is a meaty improvement on the original, and the new 2D game is exciting.VGC said something about Zelda blowout so I’m expecting a decent Zelda section in the direct.
Metroid Prime Remaster
TP/WW
BotW 2
GBC/GBA
Fire Emblem

My expectations for now
yeah, the value now might be good enough but the value they could feasibly add isn't enough to go furtherI don't think they'll do another higher tier, not for the GB line anyway. my favorite game of all timeSo I've been playing Metroid Prime for the first time properly through MPT on Wii U Virtual Console(did like the first 15 minutes when I got my GC copy last year)

Would be a 10/10 Direct for me. Even Fire Emblem, a series I've never played before I'm very excited for. Were it not for me still having to play through XC2 and Torna to finally be able to play XC3, I would've probably picked up Fire Emblem Three Houses and played that. But for now I'm waiting for the new one to come out to finally jump into this series.VGC said something about Zelda blowout so I’m expecting a decent Zelda section in the direct.

wow, no link's crossbow training 2? you really have no hope for this Zelda blowout huhMy reasonable expectations for a Zelda blowout:
TP and WW HD
BOTW 2 title reveal
Oracle of Ages and Seasons remakes announced
Brand new 2D Zelda
The next 3D Zelda game after BOTW 2 is announced. It's a sci-fi space adventure
Legend of Zelda anime series
Zelda Williams personally pays a visit to each Nintendo fans house
The ghost of Zelda Fitzgerald makes a guest appearance
Aonuma goes full shaved head
Bayonetta 3 and Pokemon are first-party titles, co-owned IP or not.I think it's almost guaranteed- reminder, after Splatoon no first-party titles are dated
Fire Emblem is the one I expect. Realistically Nintendo make anywhere from 1 to 6 game announcements at Directs; last September only had Kirby (and the first Bayonetta 3 footage) but the two previous Directs in 2021 as well as February 2022 each had something like 4 or 5 new announcements.Brand new titles for 2023 is guaranteed. I’d imagine the Fire Emblem game will be one.

That's basically the one thing I'm waiting on. GBA expansion? I"ll absolutely and gladly pay for NSO.GBA on NSO would make me more excited than Gamecube ports honestly (It would actually push me to finally get the expansion).

pandering to Arlo is a slippery slopethe emboldening of the cubers is very dangerous imo
There won't be many third party games on GBA NSO though, everybody's been compiling their GBA games into their own packages: Castlevania, Megaman Zero, Megaman BN...That's basically the one thing I'm waiting on. GBA expansion? I"ll absolutely and gladly pay for NSO.
