Annual Zelda release for 2022 was BOTW2. My understanding is, no BOTW2 this year = no Zelda ports.
I thought of that too, but maybe since they’ve been waiting to release WW/TPHD, they figured once they knew they needed to delay BotW2 that it would be this year’s Zelda “replacement”? Does that make sense?

After reading VGC article, I can see next direct being a little low key.

Opening with metroid prime 1 remaster
Middle announcement would be gb/c coming to nso
Final announcement are zelda wiiu ports + botw 2 trailer

Other first party announcements would be eshop titles or updates from 2022 games. Most third party announcements would be low ley ports/remasters/remakes and reminder of previously announced titles

They are saving big reveals (new fe, prime 4, next mario 3d, imposible third party ports, etc) to a dedicated event at january/febraury for next switch HW.
Gba too

TFW you’re in the process of starting a second musical project and are impatiently waiting for your producer to let you hear a sample of what they’re working on, so you send an email that casually drops a hint like “hey how’s it going I’m always down to give feedback haha!” but then you feel bad because you know you can’t rush perfection and have to give the producer the two week time period they promised

Can anyone relate?
It’s going to be a while before I can share more on this with you. But know that I am very excited to provide Famiboards with a couple bops to listen to while you wait for Directs ;)

(C’mon, producer, take the hint lmao)

I still think BotW2 and that HD Collection will be revealed in a Zelda specific Direct in January 2023. Along with...

GOLDEN JOYCONS!!!!

It does. But I still don't think they will release Prime HD and Zelda Ports over the next 3 months. Metroid yes, but not ZelDa .We will see what happens in 13 days.

I can’t believe Grubb has only been on here for one day and he already gets fan fic written about him, poor Nate has been waiting for years
Fwiw I was going to use Nate instead of Grubb, but I couldn't quickly find Nate on twitter to confirm what company they worked for or the name of their podcast, so I went with Grubb lol

I too, am confused about TP/WW being out this year or early next year.
I would have anticipated them in the gap between BotW2 DLC and the next Zelda, which would be a longer gap than now and Spring 2023.

I suppose I can see the GameCube Zeldas in Jan-Feb 2023 and BotW2 in June, stretching that Spring timeframe. That's a lot of Zelda.

Do I have to post my weeb chart again.

Guess I do.

Among two of my favorite Nintendo series, one could be basically described as "furry Macross/Gundam" (StarFox), and the other "seinen henshin hero sci fi drama" (Metroid). And I embraced that shit~!

Ok, i joked earlier about this Direct becoming the Revenge of the Coobers, but this Direct is looking really Cube-y. The remasters rumour is based on inside info, right? What if what we're actually getting is GameCube games on the Switch as downloadable games (not as an emulator, as i think it would be too heavy for the hardware), and not remasters (or not only remasters)? Because this remaster dump looks weird... but things get interesting if they announce GameCube on the Switch

Yep. It's basically pushing Zelda games under the passing bus. That bus being Pokémon SV.

Metroid should be ok, it's used to getting crushed under titans. Like Metroid Prime Hunters got crushed under NSMB. Or Prime 3 got destroyed by Galaxy.

I could see this Zelda HD combo pack being a December game with BotW2 being March-June 2023. If they aren't a combo pack you put one in December, one in March, and the BotW2 probably fall 2023.

I don't allow Nintendo to do a Wind Waker HD and Twilight Princess HD double-pack for $60, when all we had was Tropical Freeze with Funky Kong for $60 alone... we could have gotten a bundle with DKC Returns in HD (already available on NVidia Shield..).. so now Zelda fans will need to suffer as well! >:T

I'm 1000% sure about the Prime 1 remake coming this year, but I'm still hesitant on the Zelda stuff. Would Nintendo release both this holiday and BOTW 2 possibly in the first half of next year?

Who knows.

Please let Metroid become a yearly franchise again.

2021: Dread
2022: Prime Remake
2023: Prime 4
2024: Prime 2 Remake
2025: Metroid 6
2026: Prime 3 Remake

The 2020s are the decade of Metroid let's go.

My assumption with Zelda is that Nintendo very simply must be confident that a) these releases will all sell strongly and b) they have enough planned for the series that they won't need the ports later down the line as annual filler titles.

There's also still the unfortunate - but possible - scenario that Breath of the Wild 2 isn't spring 2023 and the ports are coming to soften the delay. But, ports either before Christmas, or in January/February, ahead of Breath of the Wild 2 in May or June could be on the cards.

edit - the more I think about it, the more I think the ports have to be pre-Christmas if BotW2 is still on track for the spring window.

Pikmin is life! With that being said, some of the ads on this website are disturbing.

Turns out they're releasing the GameCube Mini Classic this winter, we've been bamboozled

Hope to see this brand new FE and Botw2. Add Metroid Prime HD and i'll be totally satisfied, considering how stacked Is 2022 line up and the fact that there Is plenty of time to flesh 2023 line up out

Yeah, I will take it a step further and say I am starting to even think it might be a Mini.

This way you can reveal multiple remasters without

1. Talking about future installments
2. Under deliver on expectations via the bulk of your announcements being ports.

If hardware is coming next year, this approach makes sense. MP4 and BoTW2 gameplay should be saved for that event.

But if it is a General, BoTW2 has to be there in some shape or form. And honestly, we also should get a MP4 nugget.

I wonder if they'll release them on the same day and offer some sort of discounted way of buying both; maybe an eShop/MyNintendo store exclusive deal.

Plus the Pokémon route for retail. Not expecting a discount for either, though.

NATE JUST CONFIRMED TP AND WW SOLD SEPARATELY OMG!!!!! (So I couldn't buy it)
No, he did not. Here's what he said (emphasis mine):

"It's going to be a fun day on the internet if Nintendo releases Zelda: Wind Wake HD and Twilight Princess HD as standalone $60 releases for Switch with no meaningful enhancements over the Wii U versions & people call it fair; yet the same call TLOU Part 1 a rip-off at $70."

I think any grumbling about ports is going to be outweighed by the fact lots of people will be excited for these games. Even if Nintendo have two Zelda remasters and a Metroid remaster, there's still a bunch of new and exclusive software launching on Switch in the next few months. So far this year, Nintendo haven't done any re-releases (poor Advance Wars disappearing from sight), so it's not as if we're coming into this on the back of a bunch of ports.

Plus, if anything, the three titles they're about to spring are among the most expected and requested re-releases on Switch. The dynamic for Nintendo remasters is well established by now: they come out at full price regardless of what the rest of the industry does. It's not as if this will be unexpected when/if it does happen.

Please do not use pedophilia references for the sake of a one-liner, especially one which could be interpreted as inherently linking Japanese media and pedophilia - Donnie, hologram, paranoodle
Something isn't adding up for me.

Grubb said Metroid Prime Remake is coming this year. And now Grubb and Mike are saying TP/WW are for sure apart of this upcoming Direct.

So are we to assume that Nintendo is going to announce and drop both a Metroid Prime Remake and WW/TP pack this year? That just seems like a weird thing to drop two highly requested remakes/remasters within a four month period in an already packed holiday schedule.

I'm not questioning anyone or their sources. I have full faith these products exist. But I do think that logically it would make sense for Nintendo to push one of those to next year. And if they push the TP/WW pack, wouldn't you start to get awfully close to the BoTW2 release?

To me, just strictly from an advertising setup, it would make more sense to push Metroid Prime Remake, since MP4 is in all likelyhood further out than BoTW2 is. So I'm very interested to see how the release dates for these products play out.
Someone on this forum pointed out the first week of October and first week of November are free. Zelda could be slotted into one and Metroid in the other. I forget if it was Emily or Nate who said Nintendo has a lot of games finished and that's why it's crowded this year. My guess is because games that were supposed to come out in 2020 and got delayed because of covid are now clogging the release pipeline.

The VGC article is just writing up all the stuff Jeff and Mike have said over the last couple of days. And they were both pretty clear that while it COULD be a Mini, theh were leaning towards it being a General.

Also, slightly off topic, but I can't read fucking VGC articles. Maybe I'm just a snob because I work in the journalism field, but the constant use of "it is claimed" and shit like that make every article seem to lack any backbone whatsoever. It feels like the whole website hails from the Internet Message Board School of Journalism, which is bad! That's what, y'know... message boards are for, not supposedly reputal games journalism sites.

I'll gladly pay 60€ at day 1 for a Metroid Prime remaster, i've never played the original game. As for WW and TP... these are games i've spent hundreds of hours in. If they come as a bundle, i'll grab' em on the release date, sure. That won't happen if they come full price as separate releases.

I do believe it exists but i would like to know how this forum would act if it was all smoke.

Would famiboards just act as if people who believed were crazy and there was no chance of it ever happening?
What does "smoke" mean in this context?

If you mean it never releases, I imagine the general consensus would be that it was cancelled last-minute for puzzling reasons we will never find out.

If we somehow find definitive proof that this was all some elaborate hoax, I think there would be freak-outs lmao

Most people would pay 60 dollars for mp remake because most people never bought it. People on the internet fall into the trap of thinking ''well who would buy this without new content!'' but as long as it looks great most people wont give a fuck if its the same game, especially considering mp released 20 years ago.

NATE JUST CONFIRMED TP AND WW SOLD SEPARATELY OMG!!!!! (So I couldn't buy it)
i am seriously considering putting this in my signature

insiders are people too and they can make predictions that have nothing to do with their leaks

A direct with BotW2 will not be a Mini. Nintendo isn't going to show TP/WW in a direct without also showing BotW2. I don't understand how someone can be confident that a direct will contain TP/WW and at the same time think there's a possibility it's a Mini.
