Since I unfortunately got bottom of the paged:

top 5 ghibli films (that I've seen)

5. Castle in the Sky
4. Kiki's Delivery Service
3. Porco Rosso
2. Princess Mononoke
1. The Wind Rises

From Up on Poppy Hill is an underrated Ghibli movie. It doesn't get much attention because it wasn't directed by Miyazaki but I think it's better than some of his films. It has an amazing sense of place and time.

Heck yes let’s get our weeb on (though Ghibli I think is kinda mainstream really)

5. Only Yesterday
4. Laputa Castle in the Sky
3. The Borrowers Arrietty
2. Nausicaa
1. Princess Mononoke

I don't have any Ghibli rankings, but I'm especially fond of Princess Mononoke (my first Ghibli film!) and Kiki's Delivery Service.

Probably should have expected this, but Sony’s new classic games subscription is worse at rolling out content than Nintendo…
I'm not sure "not having any new classic games for few months" even gets Sony into the same ballpark as Nintendo when it comes to rolling out classic content.

It has some deficiencies in its plot but I thoroughly agree. A fantastic period piece that gives a great sense of place

Had to cancel my plan to go to a museum because of a damn migraine I have. God damn I wish they would leave me alone. Still not as frequent but very annoying at the worst of times

The ever so silent enemy I like to call them now

1. Kiki's Delivery Service.
2. My Neighbour Totoro
3. Spirited Away
4. Whisper of the Heart.

Not sure I have a fifth, I've seen some others but it was years ago and they didn't stick with me enough to really rate them properly outside of me thinking they were quite good.
I feel kind of bad for The Wind Rises cause I know it's supposed to be quite good but the only time I watched it was when it was my brother's birthday so it was him, me and a friend watching it together and somehow it ended up with us all just taking the piss out of it and not actually following the story at all.

I listened to this on another tab, but didn't watch it.

Just thought I'd tell you all that.

My father and my sister have battled constant migraines for their entire lives. They have Chiari Malformation, a condition where their spinal cords are too short (or something to that effect, I'm not 100% certain) and it pulls on their brainstem. After over 20 years of seeking treatments, and at least two surgeries, my dad was finally able to have a tethered cord procedure done which has given him relief from his constant headaches.

I know you've been to see a neurologist and you are probably dealing with something different. Just know that me and my family know what it's like to deal with debilitating headaches that won't go away.

The Autism Summit I was invited to be part of has launched their webpage! It's freaking surreal to see myself up there with some of the legends of the neurodiverse community.

Sorry, I hope this doesn't come across as tasteless advertising, I just can't help but gush haha

Congrats! This is so great to see =)

As a father with a 10 year old autistic son, I always read your posts on the matter with great interest.
Thanks for sharing!

Wow, I'm also neurodiverse. What is this?!

👀

Edit: Nvm, I'll just open the link.

Doing a top 5 Ghibli films is even harder than doing a top 5 WDAS films, but after some thought, it’d be something like that

5. The Wind Rises
4. Whisper of the Heart
3. My Neighbor Totoro
2. Princess Mononoke
1. Kiki’s Delivery Service

I think Ghibli movies should be studied by every writer, but most importantly video games writers. They show that you can have a compelling story by focusing on mundane, human-scale issues. You don't have to save the world in every story. And even if you do have to save the world, it's important to focus on the issues of the characters, their emotions, rather than on the epic battles (something Final Fantasy XV did remarkably well). And never forget to keep some contemplative moments of emptiness, what Miyazaki calls the "ma". I have the impression that the more "ma" you have in a story, the more interesting it usually turns out to be.

It has been a long time since I watched a Ghibli film...

1. Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind
2. Spirited Away
3. Kiki's Delivery Service
4. The Secret World of Arietty
5. Ponyo

I hate to say it, but those are the only ones that I have watched. I am a bad anime fan.

Kinda neat idea expanding on the idea of funtastic N64 colours beyond the original N64 choices. That Berry option actually looks pretty classy

How much money do I need to toss at them to do the same for the NSO N64 controller shells so I can have something not-gray?

Do you ever sometimes wonder if you see things differently then most people? Like, someone was describing the story of Splatoon so far with how it takes place after humans wiped each other out, along with most land based animals, and how sea life has taken over the human cities and stuff. I see Splatoon and I'm like, hey that's a Manta Ray with a hat! I'm the same with books and movies. I didn't realize the Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe was this big Christian type of thing with the Lion being Jesus. I just thought, hey a cool lion and animals and fun things happen. I guess I just don't think very deep. I don't know if that's good or bad.

This hit me

Like, there's some core memory these sounds are scratching at but I can't quite recall what from

Anyway, neat
I had a full soundtrack of Megamans 2-6 on my MP3 player at one point and one of the tracks for each game was just "SFX" which would basically play these little 1-2 second clips with a 2 second break between each one. I usually tried to skip them but depending on what headphones/device I was using that was such a pain

That's what this reminds me of.

Maybe somewhat off-topic, but anyone have any tips for writing StarTopics? I'll be writing my first one ever for Splatoon 3, but I'm not sure if there's any guidelines or anything I should keep in mind when making it.

Drake better not be this year. I got the steam deck and Benedict Cumberbatch’s autograph to buy and both are pricey. I welcome drake to be next year as long as the announcement is this year
