I don't know, it looks like a big failure to me, no 200k opening in japan, not selling 3 million in a week and not even a 90 on metacritic?
Talk about an underperforming mess.

The funny thing is, if you count digital and special edition sales the Japanese opening was very likely over 200k.
 
We need one more 10 to blow it over to a 9.0
Anyone have any sites that are counted by meta critic to give it a 10?

Yeah I'm expecting slant magazine to bring down the score by alot. They gave 2 a 4/10 and Botw a 6/10. They are contrarians

Been around forever and while they're known for pretty contrarian reviews they're not consistently doing it enough to be considered troll reviews or anything.

Contrarians reviews is enough to be considered troll reviews, they do this only for clicks, is just unprofessional.
 
That Slant Magazine is such a troll, I think MC needs to operate like the judges in some olympic competitions, where the Higesth score and the lowest score are eliminated for the average score.

I, uh, disagree? A person’s freedom to differ from the mainstream when reviewing a deeply subjective experience like gaming is more important than your favorite game hitting a round number on Metacritic.

Another 10/10 and 9.5/10 to the count, it's almost there.

I don't know why i'm watching this count because i don't care if it gets an 89 or 90, but it's fun.

it's pretty much impossible for xenoblade 3 to get to 90 now, just forget about it.
Btw what was the inappropriate screenshot of the game the threadmark is talking about? I'd open it but I don't want any spoiler so if someone could tell me if I already saw it (i'm at the start of chapter 5) or if it's still a spoiler for me I'd be glad.

You have not seen it. It isn't particularly relevant to the main story, but it is a spoiler nonetheless. You won't see it until the very end of the game.

This game officially has the most reviews of any Xeno game to date. It's gotten a lot more critical attention than XB2 + XBDE. The scores in the past week or two have definitely been more critically acclaimed than the embargo reviews

89 for Xenoblade 3 is an excellent score. It doesn't need to be rated higher to convince prospective buyers of its quality.
We are not in a 'The House in Fata Morgana' type of scenario.

Sometimes it is better to focus on other metrics. I mean over 70% of all reviews with a score are a 90 or higher with the median probably being a 90 anyway which is a far more impressive number.

It also means something when even the harshest reviews (of which there's only 4 out of over 100 reviews) call it "good" with 7 or higher scores. That means even those not fully into the game acknowledge it's still a good game overall by today's standards

Some of the harshest reviews sound pretty stupid though. One of the latest says: "Yeah, this is the best game in the series, it perfects the formula... if only it wasn't on Switch!"

Episch. Het is een lamgeslagen term, maar ik kon aan niets anders denken bij het spelen van Xenoblade chronicles 3. Het spel pakt alles groots aan en dat leidt tot ... grootsheid.

There are certainly some things that suggest the game was rushed in some aspects, biggest giveaway is most of manana's cooking doing nothing

Honestly, That’s part is not something to Suggest that. Sounds like a bug that was just missed, . No one even noticed till a few days ago and players catch these things quickly after release.

If that is suppose to be a give-away then plenty of 1st party Nintendo games themselves were rushed.

it's not a matter of opinion, imho, but to find the right way of expressing opinions (that are personal, of course) keeping also an non-subjective approach to values proposed in a game, when you review it
at least this is what I do, when reviewing: it's not that if I don't like a game, I can't see its value proposition

and, I'm sorry, but Xenoblade 3 is not a 6-outof-10 game, under ANY aspect. even if you don't like JRPG, auto-combat system, anime tropes, long-ass logevity interactive experiences, sub-4K videogames, or whatever

I think that's the likeliest scenario. At this point, Monolith Soft may as well be directly credited for The Legend of Zelda games at this point.

I disagree, some of the content in Chapter 6 and Chapter 7 really felt tacked on at the last minute and there are two important Consul members with no post-battle cutscenes.

There is a Xenoblade title definitely on the verge of having a Metascore of 90 but that's XBDE and not XB3.
Alas, neither of them will get there.
