...but I don't know maybe it get's to November 2023 and we have to wait for e3 to see it. and then it get's delayed to early 2024

This warrants the big super soaker and not the spray emoji.

No BotW 2 or Prime 4 until at least mid-2023 then.

Shouts out to whoever it was in the Nintendo community who declared Prime 4 for 2023 as far back as Jan 2019, despite being shouted down the entire time.
I mean, in Jan 2019 saying Prime 4 is coming out 2023 was a bad prediction. Once development rebooted, it became a good prediction

EDIT: My bad, I thought the development update was 2020 for some reason. Ignore what I said lol

I could have believed a Prime 4 2023 release before the pandemic fucked the world up. A 2023 release isn't realistic imo.

They needed to give the project to game freak. Not only it would've already come out but we'd be seeing a trailer for metroid prime 5 for early next year
imagine the shit show and constant "wtf Nintendo. Why didn't they just give it to Retro?"

While other people would constantly mention Retros poor output since 2014.

Wouldn't wanna live in that timeline.

So I have decided to properly start theorizing about what day the September Direct could be on this year lol If we end up having a legit direct for September (which I still hope we do lol but also somehow wouldn't be surprised if it doesn't happen or we get another Partner lol), I am going full in on Thursday, September 1st at 10 am EDT lol

2016 had the TGA also start on a Sept 15th like this year (which was a Thursday also like this year) and there was a Nintendo Direct (granted for 3DS) on Sept 1 at 10 am EDT. I am feeling a repeat this year since there is also Splatoon 3 release the week after and I highly doubt it will be that week. Lets see if I end up being correct or just a typical clown lolol

If every Famiboarss member watches it 53 times we can get there today!
On it!

Sounds pretty good to me! It'd be nice to start off September with a Direct!

I'd be very, very, VERY surprised if we didn't get Splatoon info next week. Nintendo always does a new overview trailer or Direct when games are a month out. This week was Mario Kart and Pokemon week so it makes sense why we didn't get anything this time.

Switch era September Directs have very consistently been 7 or 8 days prior to TGS, even in 2020 with the Partner Showcase/Monster Hunter double bill. I know that brings it into Splatoon 3's release week this year, but I suspect Splatoon 3 is big enough to cope with that.

I could see a general direct happening in Splatoon 3 launch week that has a trailer detailing some post launch content
Agreed. I don't think that week is necessarily off the table - even if it's probably more likely it'll be the week before, or maaaaaaybe early the following week (but that pushes it a bit too close to TGS most likely)

Has Nintendo ever advertised a Splatfest in a direct? Feel like they only pushed updates in the directs.

Regardless, they’ll probably preview the next map with a release date a few weeks after, or something along those lines.

Your weekly reminder that BOTW2 AND DRAKE ARE NEVER EVER RELEASING AND WE'RE STUCK RE-RE-RE-RE-RE-RE-RE-RE-RE-REPLAYING BOTW IN SUB-HD thank you.

why are we seriously discussing the budget that a gamefreak metroid would have??? it's not worth any thought
because Kartina convinced me that Gamefreak is the best Switch developer and now I can't wait to see BotW 3 made by them.

ah, fair play then

unfortunately game freak resources are going to be reserved for only the most important series like Pokémon, Zelda, and Mario. I'd love to see smaller IPs get annualized by GameFreak but unfortunately they'll have to go to lesser developers like Monolith, NLG, EPD, etc

You say this but tbh.... a serious big hot take incoming.... I wasn't too impressed by Luigis Mansion 3 for example. I beat it and that was it. I have no desire to ever replay it.
