Considering the presence of the Native American lass that's representing Mexico in the leak, I'm at least expecting some storyline beats that refer to Hawk. Now, whether he and Fei actually join their fellow New Challengers on the roster one day is anyone's guess, of course!
we got Blanka in V so let's hope 🙏

Some more tweets from the official account. First up, our boy Ryu.

…But why? Soundtrack is 🔥, though.

…But why?
So you aren't just sitting there waiting for the PS4 version of the game to load

And damn, that track on the first clip

everything about this game looks amazing, hopefully they announce an open beta in the coming months

Switch can run RE Enguine right?
A modified version of it, yeah. That's what MH Rise/Sunbreak runs on.

I wouldn't expect them to be able to scale SF6 down decently enough for Switch, though. According to some, it's "bad enough" that the game is still able to run on PS4/XB1.

I think the primary reason people are a bit iffy towards the PS4 version apart from those who are concerned for that version "holding the game back" is that the game will likely be supported for 5-6 years with DLC and other updates.

So the question is, will they keep supporting a PS4 game until 2028 or simply drop support for it partway through.

Also, curious that there is no XB1 version, so the crossgen approach was likely chosen with Japan in mind.

PS4 support gives me hope that we'll get Super SF6 instead of DLC
Not sure they would want to split the current gen playerbase like that. What I fully expect to happen is for them to stop supporting the PS4 version after one, maybe two seasons worth of content.

Or maybe we do get SSF6, but it is an upgrade akin to Arcade Edition and Champion Edition and simply won't be available on PS4.

Drunken boxer, my man. Also, why does the OST slap so hard, god damn.

Who is ready for some hot tunes?

Have Chun's animations always been this… Idk, "fluid"?

What's the over/under of that character being either Kimberly or Cammy?

I'd assume that's the combined effect of her being a stance character now + how well the REngine handles animation blending. Makes sense from a story/characterization perspective, too.

Expecting a newcomer reveal, personally. Kimberly would make sense, with her having been teased at the end of the announcement trailer.

Tbh, I hope they just officially reveal the remaining returning fighters in one fell swoop. Maybe at the Capcom event next week.

That makes sense. I went checking after I posted this, and her moves flow nowhere nearly as well together in SFV.

At the very least, I'm hoping for Kimberly as the newcomer reveal and perhaps someone like Ken as the veteran. Or maybe that's just me being hopeful that they'll put this DivorcedDad!Ken meme to rest sooner, rather than later.

Bonus points if Ken has also had his English VA recast in the interim.

Looks like SFV-style VTs/installs are back in force. Ryu had his hadoken buff and now Guile has his multi-boom and boom shield as well.

They still haven't updated their official website with Guile's profile, why are you doing this to me, Capcooom?

I really like all the color and visual flair, even the UI looks pretty good which is a rarity in fighting games lately.

And we have some gameplay, too! That commentary will be muted immediately in my house, lmao.

Disregard the audio track on the upload in general, it de-syncs at some point.

Capcom is doing everything right with this game so far to me. Just please don't fuck up the netcode.

I mainly check on the mechanics and how it will affect usual strategies like zoning.

Your playstyle will live or die on how you manage the Drive meter from the things I read.

Already confirmed to have rollback, too. That much is not in question. If it's like Infinite's or better, we should be fine!

I'm just loving everything I'm reading, seeing and hearing, right now. Neutral rest on hard knockdowns is back in place, just like it is for pretty much every SF pre-SF4 and 5. There's a lot of reasons this game is shaping up to be the first Capcom fighter to excite me since TvC.

I am loving everything that I read about this game so far. Hopefully Capcom hits 2023 like they expect with this game.

I need to get a fightpad for my PS5....

My main takeaway is that I have seen overwhelming positivity and excitement for what they have shown so far from both FG veterans, and from more casual players like me.

If the game ends up satisfying both, it is going to be absolutely massive.

Apparently they plan to use the World Tour mode as an introduction to fundamental FG concepts. Between this and Modern Controls, it really looks like they're putting in the work to ease beginners and SP-only people into jumping online.

The commentators, in their own way, are also there to help newbies get better acclimated to various terminology.

It all sounds very good. I just hope World Tour mode really provides a structure that will help players deal with different types of opposition they may come across and just disguise the lessons in such a "game-y" way that players may not even realize they're being taught. Like, nobody is impressed with "perform a Shoryuken three times to proceed" shit.

It'd be far better to do more shit like in VF4-Evo's "Kumite" mode, which actually teaches things like proper spacing and defense.

"See, a crouching uppercut performed with HP is an excellent option to use on somebody trying to jump in on you. So is a standing kick performed with MK! Now, you can also use an OD version of a Shoryuken to get temporary invincibility, and, with good timing, completely blow your opponent away!"

Perhaps we should not necessarily expect any news/reveals from the Capcom Showcase on Monday. If so, EVO seems like the next logical destination.

Can't wait for this! Just hope it feels good to play. Been a big Street Fighter fan since the beginning but couldn't get into SFV as much as previous entries for some reason. The more I watch gameplay of this, the better it looks.

So with EVO coming up this weekend, we should finally get another fighter reveal or two.

Since Guile was last up, I'm hoping we talk more about some of the newer characters.

It's time for Lil Kim, already, Capcom!

It's Guile time, which means we are all caught up with themes for previously announced fighters.
