There we go. Without a transfer window all the richness in the stands can't do much. Newcastle will be nervy and on damage limitation until it opens I reckon.

He's on side there? his arm is by the defenders leg.

edit again, yep 1-2

Even with the sudden cash-injection, I think Dyer's pre-match prediction of Champions League football within 3 seasons is very optimistic!

Given how just about every club in the PL has some rich owner at this point, thinking a bit of cash will send you through the roof and towards the CL is a bit delusional anyway, but alas.

Newcastle needs the like of Conte, he could ensemble a winning squad full of expensive rejects from other teams.

...And then promptly throw a tantrum when it's pointed out to him that he probably shouldn't sign anyone else, after signing 5+ players uninterrupted in every transfer window.

It wasn't a player injury but someone in the crowd needing medical attention.

1-3 now it's restarted. Be an embarrassing day if it becomes 5+

It's the best thing that can happen really - losing validates their strategy going forward, with no awkward Solskjaer-Esque problems to get out of the way. That said, Bruce mounting some kind of stand would be hilarious for the neutral.

The important thing isthe person suffering the medical emergency has been stabilised. Good to see the players checking in on Hojbjerg as well after what he went through in the summer

Barca played really good, Memphis was on fire.
This week is going to be interesting to see for Barca, Champions League+El clasico.

Bayern are playing on a whole different level.
I wonder how far they can go if they keep playing like this the whole season. They can win it all. Again.

Yes he is, I'm so glad he finally is a starter. I know Barca is struggling a lot but they have so many young players I think there's a lot of talent at least on paper.
Oh yeah, plenty of young and talented players. Dest, Pedri, Garcia, Araujo, Fati just to name a few. This year will be a struggle but the future will be bright. Koeman isn't it though.

Yeah, but at the start of every season i always got a sliver of hope, that things might be different this year. And i always come back since other leagues don't really do it for me. Its just a bit frustrating being a Bundesliga fan these days.
Talking with my old neighbour, a Schalke fan (go easy on the old gentleman, he had it rough last year) me and my father always joked that they should start thinking about introducing a price for second place in the Bundesliga.

I mean I respect Bayern immensely, but I can understand if fans are just fed up with them taking the championship almost every year.

You could easily make the case for the Bundesliga being the least competitive of the top leagues. I think the recent big exports being deemed "flops" has also kind of taken the shine off its prestige recently.

Bayern being allowed to monopolize the competition to the extent that they do (not to suggest it's cheating), with regards to taking managers/players from direct title rivals, I don't think has a direct comparison anywhere else. It's absurd to think about.

Libertadores final game this year will be between two Brazilian teams: Flamengo x Palmeiras, the game will be in Uruguay in about 45 days.

I support Palmeiras, but Flamengo is sooooooo much better, that I expect the worst... and by worst I saying something like a Brazil x Germany 2014.

Palmeiras is the former champion and Flamengo own the title in 2019.

Cups are all about underdogs, have a good day while they have a bad and it's a win, just have faith.

I'll forever hate Ozil for that game. It should have been 8-0 he missed and Brazil went up the other end and scored.

Dude, don't do that to me, I was there.

Lol and I'm English, I've seen heartache caused by the Germans in a home tourney as well but even so, even if we both dislike them and the results they've caused us, it SHOULD have been 8 and for all the horrors that 7 is for you, imagine 8 (and by that 8...... nil) it could have been that much worse :ROFLMAO:

Edit, and Brazil at least wins things. We couldn't beat Iceland lol

As a fellow palmeirense... Let's just expect the worst and hope for the best. When is the last time we won something we were favorites anyway? (In fact when we are favorites we usually fuck up)
Yes, it will be hard, really hard, it would be with our best 11 but with Menino as RB it will be even worse. Anyway, right now as it is, it's their title to lose, no one is predicting our win not even us... so who knows?
*Escrevi em inglês pra caso alguém de fora querer comentar qualquer coisa, mas vamo ganhá porco!

So it is in here where we closely watch (and then mock) new Newcastle's performance?

Palmeiras was so poor at the last club world cup, I dont think I'll miss them if they dont reach it this year.

The team was destroyed after playing over 100 matches during the year, Brazilian soccer calendar is ridiculous, but yeah it was sad to see.

Champions League tonight. We are we rooting for footbalfami?

Champions league is back!! I'm rooting for Dortmund.

I would like to see Sheriff give the surprise tonight and the most interesting match for me to watch aside the Ajax-Dortmund is Atletico-Liverpool.

I think we played great considering where we were coming from, but Valencia was a better team than us for most of the game. Let's hope Ansu doesn't even catch a cold for the rest of the season.

Coming from the last disastrous matches they were touching the ball and opening the spaces really well, the team is mostly very young they need to build confidence little by little and looking at La Liga right now they may have a chance to at least put a good fight.

My rooting for this week's CL:

TODAY:
Lisboa
Manchester City
Shakhtar
Leipzig (Anyone but PSG-currently)
Atletico
Inter
Ajax
Porto

TOMORROW:
Salzbur
Barcelona (They suck this CL but finally i can root for my team again)
Sevilla
Manchester U
Zenit
Benfica
Malmo
Villareal

I met my antagonist for tonight then, because I'll be cheering for Ajax!

Well we need those points for the rankings, so Ajax would be good. Even with the Conference League we’ll be raking in those points for the NL.

Another ticket for the CL would be swell, like the good old days.

Even with Koeman's conservative tactics, just having Ansu back is better for the team as a whole. Also, the midfielders just came back from playing with Luis Enrique, which is always a bonus.

Just curious, why couldn't you root for Barça last year?

Not only from last year, but since it was evident that Messi had a very toxic hold on the team. Mostly starting during Luis Enrique's tenure. I do not care about the records or the CL won honestly, i believe that in the end, the damage he caused to the team is greater, but of course, that's me and i know that my opinion is not shared by 98% of Barca fans? this is the darkest period for the team i have memory of, like ever.

Thakfully now it's over, sadly the affected now is another team i like very much. But is only one year then MLS.

I'd say the toxic hold on the team was more on the management side. Also, the toxic players are still (IMO) very much there still.
