Another nail in the Direct coffin?

October 7 isn’t too far, that’s good, and physical is even better. It seems like they put in a lot of work into the port, I hope it pays off for them.

Oh, awesome. We have a date! I was sure it was going to be announced during the Direct, but I will take a random tweet. I can't wait to jump into this world.

Remind me that I do not need to buy this since I already have it on PS4, even though I always thought this game might be great to have on handheld and ohmygodiamsodoomed.

the amount of use hello games has gotten out of that 65daysofstatic song is crazy. it was first used in the first trailer for the game 8 years ago and has been used in all trailers released ever since.

Still can't believe how good it looks for the hardware, when you compare the game's launch in 2016 on X1 & PS4.
So much have changed since. Look at that grass !

This put a ton of 3rd party ports to shame.

Confirmed to be single-player only at launch. Ugh. Why?

If the game looks anything like the trailer, it's an excellent port. The great ports the switch had been receiving really puts in perspective the poor ones which were blamed on the console.

No. For real, there are people who are saying that lol.

Wait where has it been confirmed, i didn't find it. And i mean, if its launch only that's fine, at least its still coming.

Can someone please give me a detailed review of what this game offers🙏🏾? It’s looks damn good to me and very intriguing. I have $150.00 eshop credit and this seems like a must buy assuming the port isn’t a mess. It doesn’t look that way.

Sorry for the double post but I love to hear devs talk like this. Understanding the switch community. We are welcoming and just want to be treated like the big part of the gaming community that we are. Thank you for putting in the work. You earned my money and I will happily give it to you. Still need a detailed review from someone.

I love single player games and I’m very much okay with this.

I didn't even know this game had multiplayer. But give it some time, this is done by a very small team of devs.

I'm okay with single player games, but this is supposed to be a lot better with other people to play with. Multiplayer has been in the base game on other platforms for a long time now. I'd rather have HG delay the game and put multiplayer in day one (or at least have the player orbs).

All on cart too! I'm not interesting in the game itself but this is good it's shaping up nicely. Might be one of the high quality ports of the year alongside Wreckfest imo.

Yes, I was considering picking this up as soon as possible depending on the price. But after reading this, I'll hold until the multiplayer is added and is running well.

No man's sky is in a weird spot for me where i should absolutely love it, but my only problem with it is the multiplayer. Since the game is so massively huge you will never find another player unless you seek them, and i dont like that.

There's expeditions that start all players in the same planet, and there's sort of a multiplayer "lobby" of sorts in the Space Anomaly where you can just find other random players.

That said,

...this makes it sound like NMS Switch will remain single player, even if it gets updates?

Yeah it sounds to me like they just don’t want to commit to adding the multiplayer stuff yet

That footage looks great either way (and is reminding me that Outer Wilds has still not re-emerged), looking forward to finally trying this

Yes! Glad to see some new footage and a locked in date (although a bit later than I was hoping).

This was one of the main things I wanted from the hypothetical "E3" direct so this pretty much made my day.

This and Outer Wilds are the two space games that I really wanted to play, so I'm glad this one at least has finally solidified! Never played it before, but the concept has intrigued me since it's initial reveal and it looks like they really fleshed it out over the years.

No Man's Sky has some excellent technical features on other platforms - TAA and DLSS for example. The first one seems implemented here, looking at some of the rendering artefacts on quick movement. Reminds me of Doom 2016 in a way: soft looking, but not unacceptably so, and without it the low rendering resolution would've been a real problem. Pop-in is obvious, but something's got to give. Colours pop and it'll likely look great on SwOLED. Hopefully the framerate is sorta stable - this trailer has quite a few dips.

wouldn't surprise me if this got DLSS implemented whenever Drake releases BTW, but my head canon by now says that neither Drake or BotW2 will ever release :p .

Yeah, I am still waiting to hear of Outer Wilds again.

Like with No Man's Sky, I was expecting it to show up in the upcoming Direct. But given No Man's Sky got its date in a random tweet, I am now thinking Outer Wilds will follow suit. The problem is knowing when that will happen.

I always get the games mixed up. This, outer wilds, and there is another one that already released on switch that is very similar.

My bases will break this game lol.

To confirm, there is no cross progression or cross save feature right now between the supported platforms right? I think given multillayer is not important and there is no cross progression it's not a huge deal especially as it sounds like mutiplayer is coming down the road

Waiting to see real footage, the one in the Twitter video seems suspicious as the hands and fingers doesn't move when the character onscreen is moving

I hope so because I'm definitely picking it up unless it's a trainwreck:)
yeah, i think it will be a good port, but obviously will wait for more videos. The thing with the post is it sounds like they do intend to keep supporting it post launch so it's not a one and done deal. it's a live service game. which is why i brought up warframe. The game coming to Switch was a big shock back in 2018 and because of the patches and continued tweaks and optimizations it's only gotten better performance wise.

So what is the gameplay and story of this game? What’s the end goal.

I can promise that that is Switch gameplay. We have much better looking games already, and that resolution and saturation really isn't out-of-ordinary impressive. It seems to me like a Dying Light style port--some downgrades but very impressive still.

Also I still think Dying Light 2 was delayed for Pro after they saw how well the first one did. It sold a lot.
