Don’t need anything from him honestly. I wish him and Emily posted a lot less than they do. I hope they don’t feel obligated in any way to give us hints at inside information. Let’s just let things happen in their time. Famiboard users will survive.

They've both been at it for quite some time so I assume they know how to navigate the whole thing.

To be honest if we didn't have insiders heavily hinting the 29th, everyone in here would be mostly agreeing that a direct next week makes little sense.
Not necessarily. A mid year Direct makes sense regardless of E3 or rumours. It's part and parcel of Nintendo's marketing and we still don't have a clear picture of the second half of 2022.

I'd be waiting on a Direct to drop any time now, rather than expecting a specific date.

I know a lot of people don't like this guy and he has a spotty track record, but I haven't seen this been brought up in here or the June Nintendo thread so I might as well post it here:

I don't see any way how Advance Wars will come up in another direct. Nintendo is probably just going to quietly release this game into the wild with a couple of quick Twitter posts.

I assume they're referring to how we literally just went through this with Andy Robinson saying it would be a Partner Direct until people said pretty much verbatim that "he doesn't know anything"

at least that's how I took it, because the cycle is pretty much repeating lol

Why would people be angry about when? I'm just glad it will release at all.
thats what I wanna know... why would anybody be angry man. smells like finest first grade bullsh**.
so totally normal markomaro stuff

Even if Advance Wars came out when it was supposed to a few months ago, it probably wasn't going to be featured in another Direct anyways so I don't see why it matters if the new release date is announced on Twitter.

See, the issue with this Twitter post is that it doesn't actually give the reader any insightful information. In my opinion, this post is saying that if the date for AW 1+2 is revealed in the Direct, or is revealed on Twitter, then Marko should receive credit for leaking it...somehow. At almost any point in time, anyone can state a game has an internal release date.

That other 'leaker', does this same thing with their twitter posts.

I mean he is kinda fun because he seems less malicious than other fake leakers and like others here I like to read leak fan fictions, but this is one of his more boring ones.
They probably have a date, leaking that they have a date doesn't really say anything.
It's not that wild to believe they won't put in a direct anymore, but he isn't even specific on that.
Atleast make up something fun like that Virtual boy Wario 3DS port.
Why would people be angry about when? I'm just glad it will release at all.
Yeah, to be honest I just expect it to release in december exactly one year after the original release date, it could totally slip into next year though.
The only way I would be angry if they just skipped out on releasing it at all.

It's probably just gonna be a twitter announcement at an opportune time.

I wonder if Nate got an update on the timing of the Direct. Last time he said he heard 28/29 maybe due to timezones, so it could be in the afternoon in the West and on the 29th in Japan.

Well Nate already said he's not operating under the belief it's a Partner, so we know what kind of predictions we can expect.

@NateDrake if next weeks Direct does turn out to be a Partner/Mini, will you even release your predictions? If you made predictions pertaining to Zelda/Mario, wouldn't really fit for a Partner Direct probably so I was wondering if you'd rerecord it, skip it or just release it as is since it's recorded anyway

I can simply remove half the show since the first half is third-party and the second half is Nintendo. If it is a Partner, then I know to remove the latter portion.

This makes sense, he can't publish it until the official Nintendo Direct announcement (he can, but would be strange without anything official)

Plenty of creators have run predictions for a show yet to be announced. Spawnwave run one a week ago with folks and even reference the "rumored June 15th" date because they recorded prior to then.

There's no reason to rush and force out predictions early. Wait and let the show be announced. Early predictions for an unknown show reek of desperation.

I think this is an extremely safe bet. I think it was somewhere else on this forum but I have said in the past I think this game gets a single “it’s available on the eShop now” tweet, no more promotion outside of that.

Go in expecting the 29th.

And Kit & Krysta are wrong. What an odd claim for them to make. There is a June Direct. Next week.

Also that Advance Wars "info" is worthless. Of course they are exploring a new release window and timing. They aren't going to shelve a finished game. It's been expected that they'll limit the marketing around the game and do a more subdue release for it than with an aggressive marketing campaign due to real world conflict.

Will we see Bayo 3 next week?

Not asking which type of direct or anything, simply, do you think we will see Bayo 3.

@Lintendo beautiful city you got in luzern. I liked it better than Zurich to be honest. The lake is great. Your country is expensive af though haha. My euro trip is coming up on an end and I'll be back in the states in time for the direct

You think they are going to skip out on a physical release?
I would just expect them to say it "hey it comes out next month"
and then it's just gonna release in stores and the eshop.
It would be weird for this to be digital only for me, and if it isn't we would already hear rumblings of it coming out soon cause of shipment to stores if they wanted to do an "out now" announcement.

Nate did it again - he entered the thread, gave reassurance™ and left this hole full of maniacs:

People are concerned about the sales of Advance Wars Reboot Camp but honestly I'm not worried. I think it's going to do just fine. You just need to have the right expectations. Remember that this remake isn't being done by the original devs. Heck, I don't think even think it has been announced for Japan. Nintendo probably funded this project knowing that it wasn't going to be a multi-million seller. It's probably being made by a relatively small-ish team with a moderate budget. It's something nice for the fans, not something that is meant to have mainstream appeal.

Now if the game sells millions and millions of copies, that of course may get Nintendo to think about the franchise more. But I think the game will meet its internal expectations and the future of the franchise won't really hinge on where the game lands on the NPD charts. If anything, the delay might have slightly boosted sales in the long run. Now people may be it as a desirable product because of the circumstances around its release. Something interesting to add to your collection.

No disrespect to Kit & Krista but it seems like the best way to generate attention when there is a direct hype is to counter the widely held belief that there will be one. I don't believe it leads to meaningful conversation but it certainly got the attention of a few people.

This game is now a huge PR headache. They probably want it out with as little commotion as possible. I feel like a digital only release is probably a safer, cheaper bet for them.

Until it's reported by outlets and YT channels that, "former Nintendo of America employees say there is no June Direct..." in a few hours.

It's just sad to think that this is the return of the franchise after over a decade and it'll pretty much only sell to people that keep up with it, which isn't that many to begin with.
I think before the remake was announced many people hoped for the series to have a comeback like Fire Emblem had with Awakening, but now it feels robbed of even making any splash at all, even a small one.
Nintendo has so many franchises that have been dormant and this probably seals it'll join them back in the forgotten drawer.
