News Xenoblade Chronicles 3 Direct announced for June 22nd (broadcast over, Expansion Pass confirmed, see threadmarks)

Always a trust thing with buying into an expansion pass early, but Torna was like what a 30-40 hour adventure iirc. I’m more than comfortable locking that in. Everything else is a nice bonus.
 
One thing I'm not quite clear on is progression/exploration. Did they suggest you could progress in the order you like, or no?

Looks incredible. I don't really have time anymore for these types of games but I might get this if the reviews are just stellar. I'm predicting they will be.

I censored myself through the cutscenes but oh my all the class and combat options… the Ouroboros system, the colonies, the heroes (the censored one lol), the relationship chart, the music,… the expansion DLC icon with the three swords… I can’t handle the hype lol! 😻😻😻😻😻😻😻😻
 
There is no parrallel universe where I don't play with the english dub and its immaculate mega-manly-deep Riku's voice.

I loved Torna, sure, and if any developer will provide a lengthy expansion it's Monolith Soft. I just dislike the policy as a whole; I think if you're asking for money like this, then there should be a fairer sense of what you'll get.

Depends. There’s a lot of story stuff but without much context. It’s hard to know what’s spoliers and whatnot.

They also showed a ton of the battle systems.

I think it’s fine, they didn’t anything of Nia and Melia for example.

This is me. The Ouroboros stuff, heroes and class system were really amazing. So much customisation.
 
At this point I doubt that it is even Nia and Melia. Maybe the shady guys from the start are just using their images to rule Agnes/Keves as they might be legends in each respective world. I do wonder when they will address the worlds colliding and the history of this new world, if it will be early the the game or an endgame reveal.

This game looks tremendous. Now I definitely have to squeeze in Future Connected and Torna before diving in.

I loved everything about this direct. The music, the characters, the world, the mood, the story, the battle system... I also like how it's still Xenoblade, but also has it's own atmosphere and style, just like XB1 and XB2. I have high hopes I'll love this game close to or just as much as I love Xenoblade 2.

Also, it's interesting that the expansion pass image has the blades from all three games together. I'm really liking the way Monolith Soft is expanding on their games through challenge battles, new quests and characters, and completely new scenarios. Looking forward to playing this game through this year and into the next.

So the "passage of fate" is straight the game's ctuscenes being played in a theater. This may implies some meta stuff with the story.
 
This really looks like it is going to surpass both 1 and 2 for me. Combat system has layers upon layers upon layers, only further enhanced by the meaty class system and the Ouroboros. World looks as phenomenal as ever. Music sounds great from what I heard, but that is to be expected as well. And they clearly stepped up on their animations as well.
 
Fuck. Client called and I missed the video. I was right where they were going over the classes. And now the video went private when I tried to resume and it kicked me out :(
 
I know I mentioned a demo with save data transfer before the Direct, but I'm glad one wasn't announced because it would just make me more impatient.

The Mario Kart 8 Deluxe DLC is being released piecemeal and is available on NSO Expansion Pack so they could do the same here.

The absolute scope of this game seems INSANE

Holy crap! I am so invested in their story already! I can't wait to get emotionally destroyed by another Xenoblade game!

i don't think it says much, even after a new switch is out they're not gonna stop supporting switch and it's games. mario kart dlc is also supposed to last until the end of 2023.

Well I would say they've kind of earned it since they did help develop BOTW's open world.
That said, that specific shot seems more reminiscent of traditional JRPG trope of looking over the ledge. The shape of the overlook is similar too.
