Neat idea, but wrong crossover. What I meant is a Fire Emblem fighting game. Characters from all FE games. Yes, all of them. TMS as well. Fully implemented class system. Maybe have a separate RPG mode. Definitely have a ton of story cutscenes. Have a tag team/support mechanic. Basically, just go nuts with it.
Oh, I knew you meant a fighting game. Just a soul caliber rpg seemed cool in my head. Frankly I would love a FE fighting game in the soul caliber style.

I have been wanting this for years, it makes too much sense.

Jeez, that's ... kind of depressing.
I agree. I'm holding out hope that they might be able to do something with it after XB3 but so far Xenofans seem pretty convinced it was just a commissioned concept of that artist. 🤷‍♂️

Smash Ultimate is done getting updates, Pokkén 2 is nowhere in sight.

Fire Emblem X Soul Calibur it is.
Still to this day, I am so surprised that Soul Calibur 6 never came to Switch with Lucina as a guest character. Not a single Tekken ever came over either. Really big third-party omissions if you ask me.

But we did get God Eater 3 though! Thanks Bamco!

SC6 and Tekken 7 were developed by BNS they don't port anything to Switch if Nintendo doesn't pay, God Eater 3 was developer by Marvelous with BNS only having a developer/producer role. That is the difference

Tekken should have get Ganandorf as guest

And Soul Calibur Link + a FE character.

Mortal Kombat Ridley or King K Rool.

Too bad Bamco internal hates the Switch. Should have some form of Soul Caliber on switch by now. My favorite fighting series. Alas
I think this has to be made clear, Bamco as a whole doesn't hate Switch it is only one studio which sadly is the most notable from bamco: Bandai Namco Studios, all other studios support more or less the Switch.
(with BNS I mean the BNS that makes Bamco games, not the one that has been busy making Nintendo contract work for 20 years lol)

Here is what I can share about the new Fire Emblem game.

  • Upcoming Fire Emblem is a new game, not a remake. Brand new story.
  • Collaboration between Intelligent Systems, Koei Tecmo and Gust (division of Koei Tecmo Holdings).
  • Gust heavily assisted with the visuals / graphics. Graphics are an improvement over "Three Houses".
  • Originally intended as an anniversary game to celebrate FE's 30th anniversary. The game has been finished for over a year.
  • Main character (main lord) has strange red and blue hair. His mother is a dragon.
  • New "Emblems" gimmick allows players to summon "FE characters from the past" for your squad.

I don't plan to share any more details about this game.

Many months ago, @NateDrake teased about "red and blue".
Everything Nate has teased about the upcoming Fire Emblem game has been accurate.
Please be kind to Nate. His information is good, and he cares about the Nintendo fan community.

While this all sounds exciting, are you using male pronouns to describe the protagonist intentionally or just using "his" in a generic sense? Basically, is this Fire Emblem not going to have a gender option? Bummer if true.

The most interesting thing to me about the direct is how much they show of 2023. Right now we only know about one 2023 game, BotW 2 which was not supposed to be a 2023 game. Thus far they have revealed no games for 2023 that were meant to be 2023 games. If they show up to the direct and don't show off at least one big (as in not a remake, port or low budget) 2023 game then it would really feel like there's a new console coming. On the other hand if they show a good amount of software for 2023 then I start to doubt a new console.

There is also a September Direct coming so they can show 2023 games here, no need to worry about this.

There's also the fact that they almost always have 1 or multiple next year games in their Directs, even if they say "focusing on 2022 titles" or something like that
I think this past February was the closest they've ever gotten to sticking to their announcement tweet timeframe. Xenoblade 2 (now Splatoon 3) was the farthest game they showed.

Which is the opposite of Feb 2021, where they showed Splatoon 3 (which was a long ways off).

They don't tend to show much in the September direct. If we go over half this year without seeing any major games that were intended for 2023 then it's definitely suspicious and raises some eyebrows. It would tell us that there's likely not much major planned for next year, and if so you start to ask why.

Well, these September Directs had some pretty good stuff that wasn't present in that E3, for example Luigi's Mansion 3, Animal Crossing "announcement", Kirby and the Forgotten Land and I probably forgot some.

Log 140622: today is a dark and cold day. We have yet to reach the peak, although the peak of madness is steadily settling in. Many times have I though about everything that accumulated up to this point, I have no regrets but I am hungry... So hungry, I do not know if I will make the week but I have to press on. Lately during the storm I am hallucinating about a man in a suit, he makes talk of his bare body being ready... Is that you... Senpai?

Don't we mostly suspect that any new hardware that theoretically releases in the next year would be more of a soft successor? As in: almost all games would still release on both systems? In that case I don't think the amount of 2023 games really tell us anything much.

Xenoblade Chronicles DE and the Bayonetta 3 “reveal” are the only two other things. Not a ton overall, especially considering that Xenoblade was a remaster and Animal Crossing was a formality more than anything.

The September directs are typically focused on 3rd party and currently announced titles, which is fine, but I’d say they’re typically a step down from the Spring and Summer directs.

If there is a "My Unit", it could be like Awakening where you don't play as the main lord.

you'll get it on the 29th, coincidentally that date is also the day the region countdown TPC has been doing reaches gen 9, which does not have a region name yet. Hence a direct trailer
It's not. The countdown is on Thursdays, not Wednesdays. It ends on the 30th.

Bayonetta felt like it was thrown together just to appease the fans. I honestly don’t even want it on switch at this point. They should move it to the next Nintendo console or release on both which would make most sense. For all the love platinum gets they need a new gaming engine badly. Either build something modern from the ground up or use Unreal exclusively or something. There game look really bad to me now. I really enjoyed bayo 2 but that gameplay trailer for bayo 3 left a lot to be desired, and I’m not even a graphics guy.

Some people do yes, I think they'll just launch a successor with a cross gen period like Sony did with the PS5. But obviously not everyone is going to have the same opinion on this because people aren't a hive mind.

Alright time to guess what name the protagonist will be.

We got the following name for avatars since Awakening:

Robin
Corrin
Byleth
Shez

Hmmmmmm

Yeah. They ain’t making this easy.
SMTV features some of the Demons of Goetia. Wanting to know what those are I looked them up and if I remember correctly, one was called Byleth. Having a name potentially derived from a demon is interesting if one thinks of who they actually are. Then Three Hopes gave them the alias Ashen Demon.

If you're counting Warriors you should also count Kiran from Heroes.

The only thing to work off of is that most of them are two syllables lol.

Ok, so Mario+Rabbids is not coming on December 2nd. How many other possible days in 2022 does that leave us with? About 179? I think we can figure this one out eventually. Let's start looking for patterns in what Nate says. I am sure the answer is in there somewhere.

I'm still going out on a limb and guessing October or late September for Mario rabbids

It's tough since it will not be released only on Friday as with Nintendo 1st party (Kingdom Battle released on Tuesday).

It's one of the games I wouldn't be surprised to see moved to 2023 on account of how little we have seen of it. But yeah, October seems solid. It gives Nintendo enough time to hype it up while leaving December empty for a bigger game, perhaps.

The consensus I keep seeing is that it was concept art put together for hiring purposes, like "come work at MonolithSoft, we make neat stuff like this" but was never really its own project.

I don't want to believe that, but that's what I keep seeing people say.
I mean, yeah that's what that was. Do you think Nintendo would be okay with them posting concept art from an unannounced game on the internet where everyone could see it?

I hope the December slot will be taken by Fire Emblem tbh
Even if it will be a disaster because I’ll have a lot of exams 😂
At this point, if it’s really in December I’ll do two exams this September and not one, in this way I’ll have less exam in Jan/Feb lol

From Square Enix I'd accept any of the following.

Final Fantasy Pixel Remasters
Dragon Quest Treasures
Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake
The new Mana game
Tactics Ogre remaster
Final Fantasy Tactics remaster

I'm not expecting that rumored Final Fantasy IX remake to be on Switch.
Terranigma 2D-HD, Xenogears HD remaster and that episodic FF7 for mobile are the only correct answers here :p

Not gonna happen u_u

The first letter of Byleth and Corrin's names are next to each other on the alphabet.
Robin and Shez are the same.

Clearly, this means that the next avatar's default name will start with either a J or L to correspond with Kiran's name /s

I have missed the last 3 FE non spin-off launches due to exams , I hope it is Dec so I finally don't miss one :(

If it is in December I’ll do everything in my power to do two exams in Septembers and the other 3 all at the beginning of December.
Nothing will stop me.
For FE I’ll do everything
