Do we know when we can pre-order one?
I am not sure. Did they announce a release date for it? Is it coming the same day as Sunbreak?I really don't want to turn Wario64 notifications on because i can't have my phone going off like crazy, but I don't want to miss it.

They said it would be coming with MH:Sunbreak but didn't say anything about when pre-orders open, I hope we get news soon about it

STILL NO LAGI

I say, wait for "MH6".

There's really no point in bringing back Lagi if you're not going to do him the justice he deserves. And by that, I mean a game that will bring back water combat. Without it, you only get him at half his best.

In regards of returning monsters I think a lot of World monsters will be added in Sunbreak as well. They probably get on the website in a later date but I expect:

Furious Rajang, Fulgur Anjanath, Viper Toby, Coral Pukei and such to all join the roster. I wouldn't be surprised that one of the titel updates will introduce Namielle, Velkhana and Nergigante as well as they can bring them justice like the Gen 2 Trio. Then perhaps one of the bigger monsters they add is the Magala's as their own mini story like how Alatreon and Fatalis had mini-stories. Though, with the frenzy virus being such a thing for him perhaps that is too hard.

Pickle could be a secret add to the roster, like with Bazel. Odo also fits with bleed returning and having a Ice-cousin already in Sunbreak. Banbaro fits as well as the Citadel is in several areas. So yeah, I think they can import quite some monsters from World that give a unique vibe to the game. Seltas and Hemitaur could also fit then. Which would make the list of mons so much bigger.

3. Garangolm

Man, I really love both the MHR controllers, and I really need one now that my Joy-cons are failing... So much temptation

As a Sword and Shield man, this looks damn juicy.
In addition to the awesome new silkbind attacks and switch skills, being able to change them on the fly instead of committing to one at a time is going to make combat that much more varied and versatile.
Far out I love this game, it's everything I never knew I wanted from the franchise.

According to the MH website for the new Swag Axe silkbind skill:

"Compresses Switch Gauge energy, that can be released as an Elemental Burst.

If the burst is released right as a monster attacks, you'll perform a Power Finisher and your switch axe will go into an Amped State"

Holy. Moly. You straight up skip sword mode and get amped, that's freaking insane!

That Switch Axe counter looks sick . The weapon was already a blast in the base game and it looks like that's continuing here

Didn't play Heavy Bowgun (it might have been the only weapon I never played in Rise) but the new Silkbind looks fun. Did play a bit of SnS and I'm glad the "mini hammer" playstyle is getting more support. That Shield Bash combo was vicious and is just going to be more so now

Followers Quest gameplay, also it looks like Seregios weapons all kept their OG designs and didn't meet the same fate as Glavenus in IB.

Apparently the followers can swap weapons, because despite Fiorayne usually using a Sword and Shield she uses a Charge Blade in that last clip (and misses her phials as CBs tend to do).

Hey all, haven’t bought Rise yet so just wanted to verify the best version to buy. Should I get Rise now and Sunbreak, if I like it, or just get Sunbreak? Does Sunbreak come with all Rise content? Thanks!

Sunbreak is DLC for Rise. You can't get it as a solo package. So basically, you kinda have to buy Rise first

Sunbreak's content will mostly be after the main game of Rise so I don't think you'll be missing much if you don't purchase it before hitting that point

Sunbreak requires Rise in order to play so you need to buy that first. There is a double pack that contains Rise on cartridge and a download code for Sunbreak though.

I was a CB main in 4U, but haven't touched it in Rise. Compared to the other weapons there isn't much excited stuff here. As a DB main I'm excited to see how that weapon will turn out.

Tbqh, kinda fits CB in general as far as Rise is concerned imo
CB (to me) died so SA could live. ;p
I don't know what it is but CB in the portable MH games always felt off to me. Although in MHGU, I used Valor CB for a while because I just kept spamming lol.

But yeah, I did LR with CB and...never used it again. SA on the other hand? Good lord I had so much fun with that.

Gunlance's new toys seem to slip right into existing playstyles, which ... is fine. Gunlance is fun, so it doesn't need anything transformative on that front. Biggest question would be if the new attacks scale up damage.

Looking forward to dusting off the old Bow, Hammer and SnS soon. Have not played in a bit.

SnS just looks awesome with the Destroyer Oil. Too bad not all the oils are coming back from GU, but still, it's great to see this. Can't wait for the Dual Blades showcase.

Rise is actually the first game since CB's been introduced that I don't enjoy using the weapon. I mean, it's not bad per se, but in relation to how good LS, SA, IG and others are, CB just kinda falls flat for me.

Yeah CB looks disappointing, but can we talk about Gunlance having yet another buff they need to manage with erupting cannon? First ground splitter for shell, wyrmstake, and wyvern’s fire, but now erupting cannon for melee damage. All this just to keep up with the other weapons.

Bullet barrage looks cool, but if that does significant damage then I’m worried that optimal Gunlance play might just be spamming that move.

True, but at least Funlance finally has a DPS option that isn't reliant on Artillery as a pre-req, along with how shelling generally can't keep up with monsters having larger HP pools in G-rank, anyway.

At worst, it means Slaplance is back in full force. Which I won't mind, but I'm sure some others may not be.

Charge Blade may feel disappointing but there's nothing quite like Pizza Cutting your way through a monster's face

Spinny Axe Move (I refuse to learn the real name) is definitely my pick for most satisfying move in the game

True! That one is pretty amazing. Sadly it's also the only saving grace left for CB in my book, and kinda became old pretty fast for me.
It also was part of World's CB move set already, even if it's been altered to an extent, making the Rise iteration more fun to play imo.
Still, the basic flow of the weapon was better in World in my eyes, even if I find it hard to put my finger on why exactly that's the case.

Lance is my secondary and hot damn, Skyward Thrust be looking mighty fine. Looks satisfying as hell to land. Shield Tackle looks cool but I'd like to know more about what differentiates it from Guard Dash.
Really liking the designs of the new gear.

LS looks very powerful! Harvest Moon with all the iai counters will see lots of use. I'm still very bad at timing the counters, I need to practice the weapon more. My secondary weapons look great, now to wait for my main DB.

I also hope we'll get more info on endgame stuff next month, we still know too little.

Skyward Thrust looks great as a lancer, so I can stay on the monster. Spiral Thrust’s utility is great as you can use it for covering ground, evasion and attack, but sometimes I just want to stay next to the target and pile on damage.

I'm in a situation where no cross save striked me.
Rise is cheap on pc and with a 100% save and some trickery to change the hunter name I could be in the same state as on switch and enjoy soon sunbreak in the best conditions.
But then in the eventuality of an upgrade for the new switch, I wouldn't have all the sunbreak progress if I chose the pc version.
So thanks to all the parties involved for this decision!

The silkbind guard that charge up your phials is a big plus to up the flow of the weapon and with the added mobility of rise the weapon feels unstoppable.
What I really miss since 4 is the ko potential of the guard point, that was fun.

I don't like the direction, or lack there of, they went with for lance in Rise and this doubles down on that and makes it look worse, gonna pass on that still, one of the weapons I wish they just stuck to World's gameplay with even if it was a bit mid there too.

LS's moveset easily looks the most complete now if that charged move ends up being good. Fun weapon to play so I'm not complaining.

Giving Lance a decent option for verticality is nice, but I think most Lancers just asked for the functionality that Clutch Claw gave in IB. One of the few Claw-derived things that could've been "canonized" as a more permanent part of Lance's moveset, and it didn't make the jump...

Was hoping for something more creative than a third version of a move already employed by SnS and Hammer, but I don't need much to be okay with Lance, truly. If Skyward Thrust replaces Spiral Thrust's DPS without me having to zig-zag all over the place, that'll be good enough.

Damn, kind of uncommon to see things delayed in Australia. I already had them pre-ordered, too. Kind of "kills" the excitement behind them if they're not gonna release for another 3 months after Sunbreak

I love how Sunbreak is just dialing everything up to 11 in terms of giving the weapons more flexibility and power to match the more potent monsters.

Provided the difficulty isn't too sadistic, this looks like it could be a new series gold standard in my book, I'm really liking almost every new addition thus far, and I already adored the base game.
